I don't know why but I feel like this was presented similarly to the animation of 1980's GI Joe cartoons. lol Especially with Kimimmaro. It just wan'st that smooth at all and was a little clunky. This was one chapter where they tried to stay true to the manga but the manga had a much better effect IMO.

This animation was horrible. The anime has been falling and falling. Why can't they make fights like those of Bleach? Awesome animation, art, movements, etc? They'd have so many good reviews that way...

Horrible animation I hate that naruto fans get crapped on. we used to get good fights like hidan and kakuzu ..sasuke v dedara.. sasuke v killer bee (I know theirs way more) But why havnt their been one of thoes episodes in years? Is the studio bankrupt?

Maybe my expectations for this episode was too high since I really enjoyed the chapters this was based on, but I was disappointed by the episode. Neither the art, pacing, or dialogue transcription was up to the standards I expected. Though, there were a few moments that were OK.

By and large, I expected Pain's appearance to be creepier or more menacing and I was hoping the focus on the samurai's battles would lead to a slightly differing aesthetic than normal alluding to the Kurasawa films lyrical pacing and tone similar to how Kishimoto alluded to those films in the chapter's dialogue style.

They usually dump the cheaper animation on episodes that don't involve major characters. Like this one or the episode with Darui. You got to cut the budget somewhere.

Well, I don't think they would want to copy the Bleach anime since it got canned and replaced by Rock Lee and Friends. That was pretty embarrassing.
