Is Astro Boy the oldest anime???

I asked my friend what was the oldest anime and he said "astro boy" is that true???? :s :s :s

While Astro Boy is known as on of the worldwide famous anime, it is not the oldest one there is. You could read about it here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_anime). :D

You had me freaking reading that article for about an hour. Man was all that interesting. I started with Astro Boy, and ended up with the controversy of Kimba the White Lion (or something) and The Lion King. That was oddly similar. I believe it was a stolen idea!

It might be the other thing with the giant robot I forgot what it was called I think it started with a G not Gundam.........

Astro Boy is not the oldest anime but rather, its the beginning of the anime.. or you could say that Astro Boy is the one who started anime and manga revolution which make Osamu Tezuka got himself a title "The father of manga"... thats what i know even though i dont know about it exactly

Gigantor... but no. Astro Boy aired in January 1963 while Gigantor aired on October 1963, so it's second :p
