Any new shows or season premieres that everyone is looking forward to? I personally can't wait for Fringe, 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, and House. <3

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the obvious ones: 30 rock, How I met your mother, Big Bang theory, Supernatural (which aired yesterday), the Office, Two and a half men (what....), Rules of engagement and Lie to Me. Oh and Dexter =D

Of course there are Heroes, Lost and more but those are still not here yet~

Did anyone watch the season premiere of Glee? It seems like it's going to be a really fun show. I do love some good satire. ^^I've liked Glee so far. It's just really funny at its best. Plus, everything Sue says is made of win. I just hope it doesn't go the way of two of my favorite shows which happened to air on Fox and were cancelled too soon. *cough*Futurama and Arrested Development*cough*

Oh and Dexter =D

Have the you seen episode 1 of season 4? Somehow it's already on the internet (torrent of course). All I can say is it's really good, but damn that's one hell of cliffhanger considering I have to wait about a month+ before the actual season starts.

I love Dexter, and really can't wait for the new season.

So I can't wait for Monday!!! Its the return of House and Heroes :D. Both are 2 hour premiere's!....only problem is that they overlap :darn :wall.....House is from 8-10pm and Heroes is from 9-11pm.....Looks like I'm gonna have to tape one of them....now its just a matter of which to tape and which to watch as its being aired :oh...

Also, can't wait for House and even Grey's Anatomy. But Big Bang and House first ofc.

Stupid me.....I didn't realize that Heroes was on from 8-10 as well instead of 9-11 like I expected because they have the Leno Show on at 10 now :facepalm....Either way it doesn't help my case, lol. I'm probably gonna end up watching Heroes and then tapping House to watch either later that night or the next day depending on how much homework I have tomorrow, lol.

Of all the premieres happening tonight, House is the one I'm most looking forward to. <3333

About Community, it was just ok for me. I looooove Joel McHale on The Soup, John Oliver on The Daily Show, and Chevy Chase is basically a comedy legend so I had some high hopes for the show, but the whole thing seemed very unnatural and contrived. There were some funny lines, but overall I didn't love it. I hate to judge based only on the pilot, though, since it was mostly just the setup for the show. So, I'm still giving it a chance and we'll see how it goes. ^^

I feel the same way about House. i DVRed it just in case I couldn't see it... but i don't see that happening :amuse.

As for Community, I will see how it plays out, like you said it is the pilot and those are rarely great IMO, so if it doesn't pick up i will probably not continue watching it. :darn

There are so many great shows out there but i just don't know of them... do you know of any that you could recommend?

Flash Forward (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1441135/)

anyone who watched the first episode? It looks promising and cool. Short summary since I don't want to spoil: the whole world gets a blackout at the same time. A global black out of 2 minutes and 17 seconds, the world ends up chaotic/apocalyptic but at that same time every person had a flash forward - a view into their personal future

So sorry I missed this! I promise that I wasn't ignoring you. :darn

I consider myself (erroneously?) to be quite a tv buff, so yes, I do have plenty of shows to recommend. :tem I don't know much about your taste, or what genre of shows you're looking for, or what you're currently watching, etc.....:s but I'll give it a shot anyway.

Some of my "must-see" shows (thank god for DVR xD) airing this season are: 30 Rock, Fringe, House, Psych, Monk, The Soup (if you're in to pop culture), The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Glee (probably my biggest current obsession).

A few others that were either cancelled or aren't on right now are: Arrested Development (my absolute number 1 rec for everyone. watch now if you haven't! :shakefist), The IT Crowd, Boston Legal, Burn Notice, and Lost.

I can certainly recommend some more, but that should do pretty well to get you started. :smile-big

@koen - Thank you for reminding me about this show! :thumbs I had totally forgotten about it. I remember last season during Lost that they had some previews for it, but haven't heard about it since. I'm sure there have been commercials, but I fast-forward through them since I tape everything I watch on my DVR, hehe. Anyway, I'll be sure to check it out.

I'm currently watching the following:

How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, 30 Rock, Entourage, Heroes( meh...I'm scared to be disappointed), Smallville( another show hanging in the balance for me), Chuck( my current fave, hope they psuh forward season 3), CSI New York and Miami.

I'm gonna watch Fringe and see what it's saying, but since it's a JJ Abrams show I know disappointment isn't in the horizon. I missed Flash Forward so I'm gonna check it out asap.

I can definitely advocate you to watch it. It started promising and it had a great WTH end scene. As I say, not going to spoil anything but I hope more people will watch it. It seems a good TV show to discuss about

as for the people saying I'll check out Fringe. It should be mandatory :p

House is one of my favorite shows but it sucks that it is on at the same time as Heores... my solution to this is to DVR (isn't DVR great) Heores while i watch House in the other room.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is also a great show. its one of those shows that you shouldn't miss.

I just recently started to see 30 Rock and cant beleive i havent seen it from the beginning. :facepalm ,I will have to rent or buy the first few seasons to catch up.

The one show I hear people rave about a lot is Glee. I havent been able to see it yet but as soon as i get a chance to i will, especially now more than ever since you highly recommend it.

Anyways, so far my favorite new show of the year has been Modern Family, followed by Community. The new season of Dexter is off to a really good start, and I think Heroes has been better this season.

I do have a question though, I want a new good show to watch so I was wondering should I start with True Blood or Mad Men? I've heard good things about both shows and will probably get around to watching them both, but I guess what I really want to know is, which one is better?

At this moment flash forward is still getting better. Episode 7 was by far more the best episode of the season

I like how everything is twisted about the future being a fate or not. Are the things unwritten. So sad to knew more about the cop's flash forward. He choose his own path, a suicide which wasn't meant to happen. So great

oh and another serie which I can advocate:

V (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1307824/)

It's a remake of an '80 serie. An extraterrestrial race arrives on Earth with seemingly good intentions, only to slowly reveal their true machinations the more ingrained into society they become. It's really cool and promising too

Agreed, it was a question in my head: What if someone did something irreversible before the flash forward happened, making it happening impossible. Think it's maybe affected the thing with the MIA daughter returning instead of her father finding her?

I did, however, check out the pilot for V and agree with koen that it does look pretty promising. ^^ According to wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_%282009_TV_series%29), they are airing the first 4 episodes in November and then taking a break until March 2010 (after the Winter Olympics end) before airing the remaining 9 eps of the season.

I've watched the first four or so episodes and love them. Can't believe I'm only starting to watch this show now :darn. Any news on if there are plans for a third season?

Oh, and since is V is being talked about, I enjoyed the pilot, but I'll have to wait and see on this one. I mean, I enjoyed the pilot of Flash Forward, but I have noticed myself growing less and less interested in the show. I'm only half way through the most recent show.

Dexter continues to be the best drama on TV right now.

I've always disliked how incredibly predictable the plot was. For example, the moment they revealed the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Trinity's first family members, they narrowed the climax to one of two scenarios: 1) Trinity tries to recreate himself through his son. That is, he'll contrive the deaths of his daughter and wife so that they resemble the deaths of his mother and sister. Ironically, Dexter will end up making Trinity's life easier by engineering the latter's demise. The cycle will then begin anew in the son, forcing Dexter to have another crisis (cause he oh so loves to have them) 2) Trinity will finish the cycle by killing his family. Dexter saves the last of them by killing Trinity. Given the overall level of detachment Trinity has regarding his family, his reservations about the coffin (fear of his own death, rather than the deaths of his family members), and the scene where Trinity tried to get his ass handed to him outside a bar, I'm leaning toward the former.

p.s. As if no one saw the Farrow crisis coming. Dexter's a prick and never actually listens to his victims' understanding of events.

What type of show is Lie to Me? Is it a comedy, drama, etc...?

Glee has been hit or miss for me. No surprise, I prefer when the show goes for laughs as opposed to the over the top drama. The same goes for the singing. Some of it's been really good, and some of it is just complete garbage. Still, I'll continue to watch, though I am wondering how long it will take for them to finally partake in an actual competition.

Community has been consistently funny, not the best new comedy, but better than most. And yay for Dive, another Modern Family fan. IMHO, it is the best new comedy of the year.

As for new drama's I've been watching, V is definitely good. It's been a very interesting show so far, and I actually look forward to it every week. I've stopped watching Flash Forward.

Oh, anybody here watch 30 Rock? I was wondering what other peoples opinions of the new season are. I personally haven't enjoyed much of it. It's left me wondering how this show won so many emmy's. I would almost go as far as to call this season terrible. Perhaps it's just me though.

What type of show is Lie to Me? Is it a comedy, drama, etc...?

Drama. It's a CSI-like show, but the premise is based upon body language. They're universal, so they appear on everyone of any age, ethnicity, gender, et cetera. The characters on the show are essentially human lie detectors, and they are hired to find out who is lying.

Wonderful show. You don't need to start in the beginning to know what's going on, since the series is episodic. They might address something that's happened in previous episodes, but they'll do a quick "refresh" for the audience.

And yay for Dive, another Modern Family fan. IMHO, it is the best new comedy of the year.

On of the best new shows in a while, IMO. There hasn't been a new comedy that struck my interest in a long time. The characters on this show are amazing, well scripted, and the actor portrayals are amazing. I really hope the series stays around for many years to come.

I've stopped watching Flash Forward.

Dexter's definitely worth checking out. Definitely puts a new twist on CSI type shows :p. It's one of my favorite shows at the moment. I would say watch the first season, at least (it's only 12 episodes). Then you'll really know if the show is for you or not.

Eh, perhaps *terrible* was too strong of a word, I mean I am still watching it :p. I guess it's just that I really enjoyed the first few seasons, and this current just seems too meh for my liking. Especially when I compare to some other comedies running that I really like.

Sounds good. The series isn't long so far, 13 episodes in season 1, about 8 have been shown of season 2. It just got picked up for an extension for season 2, so it's going to be way longer than season 1. But as you said, the winter break is coming up, so you'll have plenty of time to watch all of them.

Have fun!

I can't believe there isn't a Dexter thread here. It's a really good Mystery/psychological series, due to the murderer of the season and seeing the point of view of a serial killer. ^_^

Did anyone see the promo for the last two episodes...
where Trinity (John Lithgow) finally finds out who Dexter is, kills 'Kyle Butler' and then seems to start stalking Dexter like prey~?

I can't wait to see the showdown between Dexter and Trinity. We all know Dexter is gonna come on top, after all, the show is called Dexter, but how they conclude the season is a mystery and I highly anticipate what's coming up.

Anyone have any good ideas as to how they think they're gonna end the season?

So, I've been watching 24 with my family these past couple of days. I started at season 3 and we're at season 4. It's good, but way over the top. America should just find their own Jack Bauer and send him to Iraq. If he's anything like the fictional Jack Bauer, he can take out an Al-Qaeda group by himself (plus help from his best friend at the very end).

Anyone have any good ideas as to how they think they're gonna end the season?

I already posted mine, though Lundy's incomplete profile and the wildcard relative ruined it. Most of the underlying ideas in my prediction still held, though.

Trinity's going to turn himself in. Why? Because that will make as much since as the wildcard daughter. Just kidding, even if it's the only way for Trinity to survive. Trinity will kill both of the Kyle Butlers, hoping to send "Kyle" a message. Since Trinity doesn't know Dexter's identity, he'll originally presume "Kyle" will get the message in the obits. However, Trinity will get a break when Dexter shows up with the police. After discovering that Dexter works for the police, Trinity will start tailing Dexter. After that, Trinity's going to kidnap Cody or Astor. Whichever one it is will be kept in an undisclosed location. Trinity will go to the department, while on a "field trip" (the perks of being a teacher?), since it's oddly the only safe place he can confront Dexter. Here's his bargain: Dexter must frame somebody else as the Trinity killer (as a forensic scientist, Dexter may actually be able to do that. That's also the only explanation I have for the promo showing Dexter assaulting some old guy in an RV, unless that's just an old clip...in which case, it shouldn't be in the frakking promo).

Beyond that, it's pretty obvious the Quinn or Debra will end up shooting the reporter...or she'll kill herself (runs in the family, right?). However, there aren't any clues as to how she ends up in an apartment, rather than an interrogation room.

Well, some of it was right. Anyway, teaser for next episode doesn't leave much to the imagination.

After the meeting, Dexter's going right after Arthur (think "Arthur, I'm not letting you leave this block"). Dexter will attack Arthur in the parking garage of the police department. Seems Dexter will be having a confrontation with garage security thanks to that. Arthur's gonna get away. After dealing with security, Dexter will continue the pursuit, unsuccessfully.

Arthur's son will tip off the cops, and the latter, during the night, will dig up one of the construction sites (heh, Dexter doesn't appear to be at that crime scene) Arthur used to bury one of the boys. They'll get a warrant for Arthur's arrest. Of course, he won't be anywhere near his house when they storm it, because the dummy son will actually tell Arthur about the "betrayal" long before the cops dig up the body.

Enter Dexter in red, striped shirt. He'll be at Arthur's house after the place is stormed and ask the wife where Arthur is *insert possible Kyle/Dexter name confusion*. Deb confronts Dexter about Laura Moser. Arthur visits the Morgan home. Heh, wouldn't it be hilarious if the neighborhood watch saved the Morgan family?

Now, the question is: Since Dexter already used his house as a trap this season, where will he gain the upper hand over Arthur (can't be that repetitive, writers)? While it would be poetic for Dexter to use the reporter's apartment as his kill scene, he probably won't.

@after
Is it wrong that, despite the fact that the misogynism underlying the show is incredibly transparent, Sue is what kept me watching Glee?
[hr]
Up until the last six minutes of the season, Trinity was a disappointment. However, in those six minutes, he was a demigod.

December 15, 2009, 01:42 AM
@ predsfan - If you liked the show 'Monk,' then you might want to check out the show 'Psych' since it seems a bit similar.

Glee is a great show to watch, and Sue is definitely one of the reasons why I watch the show. I also like her on the show 'Two and a Half Men.' It's too bad she doesn't show up more often. She plays the snarky woman quite well. ^_^

@kaliayev - The way Dexter got Trinity wasn't that great, but the ending was a complete surprise. I was like :o when I saw what happened. I wonder what'll happen to the family next season... I hope they won't dwell too much on the family next season... The whole reveal about Deborah finding out about Dexter wasn't that great either... -__- Did they ever say if Dexter was Harry's real son or not in the previous seasons?

ibra87
December 15, 2009, 05:10 PM
The ending sent me wtf'ing, totally unexpected. Who knows, maybe they'll make it a dream, but it would turn the ending completely weak. Maybe next season is last?

c_k
December 16, 2009, 12:36 AM
@ ibra: Well, seeing as this season is really popular it's highly doubtful they would want to end the series. Then again, we only know that they renewed the series for sure up to next year. However, I have no idea how they are going to top this season. This season has seriously been the best season so far. I can't imagine that Dexter would've dreamt the whole season. Although, it would be really interesting if they started investigating Dexter for the next season, seeing that it's like what? 90 percent of all crimes are committed by someone close to the victim, and what better suspect than to suspect Dexter. Maybe next season Deb will even find out about Dex. :o

ibra87
December 16, 2009, 02:35 AM
I didn't mean dreamt the whole season, just the part of ending. But I am seriously doubting that as well. And we've already had a season (2) about investigating Dexter so they'll have to tread carefully if they decide on the same idea, although it is inevitable (they can't just make a serial killer disobey the law, kill a cop and have a happy ending... I think).
Although in the novel Deb finds out that Dexter is a killer when he saves her from his brother (and Laguerta dies) and she keeps it a secret. Maybe they delayed it until now.
But then again, in the novel both Astor and Cody have a "dark passenger" and Dexter teaches them both Harry's code... So if they're following the novel we can expect one creepy season.

c_k
December 16, 2009, 10:18 PM
@ibra: Well, only Doakes was investigating Dexter in season 2, besides Deb and Lundy investigating the bay harbor butcher stuff, but no one knew he was that person so they weren't really investigating him. However, this time, the police department could possibly be investigating him personally as the prime suspect of Rita's killer.

I haven't read the novel(s), but I read that about the two kids. I don't think the show would go in that direction since it'd turn off some people and it would certainly be creepy~

Although it'd be cool for Deb to find out Dex's secret, with the way the character is written in the show, she probably wouldn't be able to handle his secret and would probably turn him in.

i just finished the 4400 now and searched the forum if there are any threads about it. first of all i wouldnt start watching if i knew it was cancelled after 4th season. you cant imagine how disappointed i am.
second and more importantly , i think there really is a plot-hole in the story , unless it was all meant to settle after 4th season xD
for those who watched the series, i hope you can answer this question for me
we all know that 4400 people were abducted by future people and then were sent back to present with special abilities to save humanity from some kind of disaster.
now if you watch all 4 seasons, you will only see 1 disaster and thats the war between ability users and non-ability users.
now the question is , if the 4400 were never sent back, these things would never happen.people would never divide in 2 etc etc etc..it was the attempt to save humanity that actually caused everything to happen and brought the disaster, its a paradox

igotthegoods
February 12, 2010, 12:59 AM
I think you already answered your own question. ;) It was all supposed to settle after the 4th season, which ended with a huge cliffhanger, iirc.

The 4400 was canceled due to the Writer's Guild of America strike, so it never ran to completion. Sucks. I liked that show. :/ (Even if it was going a little downhill towards the end)

blai
March 25, 2010, 10:22 AM
Yes. Alex is no longer a bitch (don't know if she was a recurring character in s6 but she's really awesome in s7). Julian and Brooke got together and then took a break because of Alex, Millicent OD'd on coke after she got her first modelling job and is a total crackwhore. Brookian got together again and I think they made out like, in the season finale (or well, ep. 18) there's 4 more episodes coming in late April I think.

I sooo want a s8 now. We'll see what happens in the last 4 episodes but they cannot end the show like they ended ep.18 I love the new characters. They're awesome! Quinn is smoking hot, Clay is THE most awesome dude ever and mouth gets even more screentime this season.

goldb
March 25, 2010, 10:37 AM
No shit!!! Millicent's a crackwhore now, wow. Ever since she slept with that dude(Brooke's ex), she been going downhill imo. I kinda liked her still.

Alright you've convinced me, I'll start watching it again. I kinda thought it would suck since Lucas and Peyton left, but then I realised I never really liked Lucas that much :p. oh btw, any appearance from Gia? Mouth exceptionally hot ex?

blai
March 25, 2010, 11:55 AM
She became the biggest self-centered bitch i've seen in OTH yet. Suuch a huge difference! I really don't like her anymore, she's a big "ew". But Shane (the bartender) is awesome, really like him :D

Nice! Well, I never really liked Peyton because she was just whining and crying over Lucas for five seasons, sabotaged his other relationships and was just a total bitch. Lucas on the other hand is awesome. He would've fitted better with Brooke and Peyton should've died in a car crash. :@
Oh, and btw, Dan is just awesome in season seven. Really awesome!
No, she's not appearing in s.7. Her last appearance was in the episode where Mouth were going to LA (?) to get Milly back. I still don't understand how he chose Milly over that girl, she was tiiiight and awesome :F

They're about two times better than most NBC shows. The ratings have declined, but the 11 million area is still nothing to scoff at.

But, the decision to end it was also Sutherland's idea. He wanted to end it on a high note. So he may not go for another season. There might be room for a feature length film or something, but otherwise this might be Jack's last seasno.

Well I'll just go ahead and post my favourite non-animated television internet shows right now...cause I guess this is where that stuff goes. >_>;

1) Doctor Who (new season!!!). I can't describe how much I love this show, from when I was a kid. I hope this new guy can live up to the standards the previous two set since the franchise re-started. I'm now watching the specials I missed over the past year...

2) The Vampire Diaries. Seriously, I don't even know how this show reached no.2 on my list. Kinda just crept up on me, but now I'm totally addicted/obsessed. Next episode please!!! LOL. I thought this was gonna be Twilight 2.0 (and yes I know the books came out before the Twilight ones), but thank goodness it broke away from that crap after the first couple episodes. There is some romance but its generally non-cheesy, and the plotline is WAY more interesting.

3) CSI: Miami. You can't go wrong with CSI, and Miami has been my fav one for a couple years now. Good old Horatio...need I say more?

4) Project Runway. One of the gayest shows on television but so what? This show is awesome although last season was the weakest IMO. Its so freaking hilarious!! But there is a dead seriousness about it too. Standards are high: its probably the only reality show apart from American Idol that attracts actual talent (once you weed out the jokers, that is).

5) Supernatural. Awesome show, and used to be #1 with The Doctor on my list. But I feel the whole heaven plot angle, while interesting, has kinda stagnated the series and made the ending predictable. Like, we all know Dean/Sam will both say "yes" and face off in the end....

6) Smallville. Don't care what anybody says, I love this show. Always have, always will. Watched every single episode and starting from last season its better than ever. More mythos explored, Clarks life finally moving forward. You can almost see him putting on the suit now and it being believable. This series had better end as a Superman movie....

7) Law and Order: SVU. I had forgotten how great this show was until recently. Watched like 3 seasons I missed in succession lol. I love how they tackle "disturbing" subject matter without trying to sugarcoat anything. Oh yeah, Benson/Stabler are made for each other.

8) Desperate Housewives. I used to be obsessed with this show, but its lost some of the appeal. Its not as funny as before and despite the timeskip - which was meant to shake things up - nothing REALLY has changed. Still good enough for me to watch, though.

....The original CSI and Ugly Betty round out the top 10, but I can't say anything about those I haven't said already. Some of my all-time favourite shows are long gone though: Xena/Alias/Charmed come to mind. Anyway, there ya have it. -_-;

Took me a whole season to accept Tennant, even though he was really good. Eccleston's departure came as a shock and after the first season being epic it was like WHAT, no I don't want him replaced. But I actually ended up loving Tennant. And yeah Amy is the hottest companion so far. But his sidekick looks don't matter that much to me - Donna Noble was my favourite even though Martha/Rose were better looking.

For those who don't know what "ecchi" is, it is another word for "perverted" or "fan service". Ecchi is mainly intended for the male species of the human race.
:p But some girls enjoy it as well.

Anyways I turned on the television and went to the "CartoonNetwork (http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=en&site=&source=hp&q=cartoonnetwork)" channel. And the first thing I saw was this:

:blink And I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Back in the day, when I was 11 years old, they never dared to show stuff like this. I guess "Adult Swim" encouraged them allot. Anyone else witness any ecchi/perverted cartoon thing on tv?

I think that show is PG 13, in other words not for little kids but rather teenagers. That is not the first non pg thing in it though. If I recall, in the first or second episode an older woman was hitting pretty aggressively on that same dude (he is a robot so he had another more mature appearance). Neither of those is what was actually aired though, both of those videos were edited. I love that show BTW.

I love CN so... much... *tear*

Although I wouldn't exactly like it if my kids watched that, but who am I to judge? I watched shows where all the girls were wearing pink, was skinny and loved fashion, whereas boys wore blue, rode bikes, and liked sports. Pretty much like Winx Club from Nickelodeon...

I've started watching the Japanese live action of the manga Bloody Monday. I like the acting of the characters especially the actor behind Takagi Fujimaru. I did not appreciate the manga much, but watching the show made a complete difference for me. I like the story immediately and the way the various actors performed their role.

Orihara Maya sure is hot in the TV series!

I saw it...it's a pretty bloody show...for me it was a bit over the top, and I expected something original, something different that made the show worth to watch...and of course japanese actors of these manga adaptations...:notrust

Yeah, I believe it's not your usual action TV series full of guns and killings. But Bloody Monday merges the thrill of suspense, mystery, action, guns... and sickness. I love the twist of the story, and right now I have the pirated DVD *cough* of the second season. Hopefully, it'll be as good, if not better, than the first one. I intend to watch that during this coming weekends.

Charlie Sheen fired from Two and A Half Men. (http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/03/07/charlie-sheen-fired-from-two-and-a-half-men/)

Not that I've followed the show that closely, but this has had some serious media attention so it's been hard not to get caught up in all the stuff Sheen has gotten involved in. And now he's fired for real. So, any TAAHM fans out there grieving over this? I mean, the series has to be over now, right?

Which among the CSI's do you like the most? I like Las Vegas best than the other three. The others focus more on action than on the forensics itself. So I choose Las Vegas because it has less action but greater mind-boggling forensics!

I seen a couple of episodes with Ashton, he's just not a suitable replacement (his comedic timing is terrible) . Sheen's character is way funnier, I feel horrible for the true fans.

kkck
October 30, 2011, 09:02 PM
Well, the issue in itself IMO is that ashton is a bad actor. He could not act to save his live. He is basically the same character he has been in that 70s shows and dude where is my car, a big child who can't take care of himself. There is also the issue that he simply is not that funny either. The one redeeming aspect of the show right now is that they are focusing a fairly bit more on John Cryer who is actually funny in the show. If they gave kutcher the same focus charlie had the show would have been long cancelled. On another note, I am mildly disturbed at how lightly everyone takes charlie's death. His little brother suspects he was murdered and rather than doing something the whole thing is used as comedy. I find the particular context in which such a thing is used a tad morbid.

Charlie Sheen's "Anger Management" TV show will be out during the summer of the year 2012. FX has bought Sheen's Anger Management sitcom, which is based on the Adam Sandler movie of the same name.

I heard that the network has ordered 10 episodes for the first season. So this means we'll have to wait 5-7 months - depending on what they mean by "summer launch."

I'm really not hyped about it because it is just a "sitcom" - but this time he'll probably be allowed to bad mouth everyone and use vulgar language. Probably bring in half naked girls in his show and make retarded statements. Well, I'll be judging if it's any better than the new "Two Men & 1/2" show. We will all see!

Community is a damn good show. Parks and Recreation is a bit better IMO though.

Happy Endings is in it's second season and it airs after Modern Family on ABC on Wednesdays. It's a really good show, really funny.

Also, the ratings for Two and Half Men were huge the first couple of episodes, even by the standards for the show. They've gone done a bit, but they're pretty much right where they were. They went down a bit after the last episode that aired, so it'll be interesting to see if they continue to go down. My guess is that people were busy with Halloween that night so the ratings weren't as high.

I've never been a big fan of the show, or much of anything that airs on CBS, aside from a Survivor season here and there. The show hasn't really lost much with Sheen gone IMO. It's still funny at points, but I'm not a fan really, so I don't know if my criticism is really valid.

Is anyone watching Whitney (NBC) or Boss (Starz)? Those are new shows I'm watching. Whitney has some pretty good writing, I'm just afraid there isn't much more to it than fighting between a couple. Boss is a new show on Starz (Spartacus, Camelot) starring Kelsey Grammar as the mayor of Chicago. It's been pretty good so far, really interesting to see Grammar in this type of role. Everyone thinks of him as Frasier but I think it works having him in a drama. It sort of reminds me of The Wire, but only three episodes have aired so I don't want to make that grand of a comparison yet :amuse

I do watch Happy Endings (& Community and Suits, duh). But I still don't watch Parks and Recreation, I hear you have to get through first season (6 eps) for it to be pretty funny, only episode down so far.

And 2½ men is not the same anymore. Charlie was a "pig" but he was still pretty mature and somewhat caring. Kutcher's humor is pretty much based around him being as childish as a 12 years old and making childish mistakes. Meh.

Oh you do? Glad to hear it. Ratings have been much better this season so ABC picked it up for a full 22 eps this season.

Parks and Recreation isn't the same show it was the first season, it's gotten even better. You don't need to watch the first season to enjoy the show IMO.

Yeah, the same fart jokes may be there, but honestly they aren't what makes the show. What was really golden for me (and for Nuno afaik) was amongst others the Charlie-Alan interactions, whether it was Charlie being mean old brother but actually caring and Alan being cheap and deceptive of his old brother. Now I don't actually feel anything towards Alan cheating Kuthcer. I don't know. It might get better, but who knows? It's just a bummer that Kutcher is extremely childish.

And in Happy Endings, Damon Wayans Jr. pretty much is one of the funniest characters in it .

Kutcher is pretty much playing the same role as he did in The 70's Show, only a slightly more subdued and less spastic version of him. It'll stay on air as long as the ratings are good.

Yeah Wayans is great. I think all the characters are pretty strong, especially Max, the un-stereotypical gay guy.

kkck
November 05, 2011, 08:45 PM
Well, the fart jokes were for the most part limited to jake. You wouldn't see charlie or alan pulling one of those but rather they would simply suffer from jake's exceptionally stinky ones. Charlie had a certain wit to him so to speak (not saying it was the classiest thing either) which was completely lost to kutcher spaghetti jokes and childish demeanor. Sheen is by no means an exceptional actor however since charlie hardper was a toned down version of charlie sheen he was by all intents and purposes made for the role.

---------- Post added at 10:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:53 PM ----------

I just noticed something exceptionally disturbing about the show's opening. Anyone heard when kutcher start's supposedly singing? Its plain disturbing (in a "I am going to rape your mom, eat your babies and make you watch kinda way). Why would they go for that voice?

This past week, I've recently just watched 3 seasons of Glee (FOX), 4 seasons of Fringe (http://fringepedia.net/wiki/Fringe) (FOX), and omg....this was definitely a great watch. It made me completely forget about reading manga. Now I gotta catch up on a week load of manga series that were updated.

I've just caught up with:
Nikita (CW) - nice series
Supernatural (CW) - Disappointed that the Apocalypse saga wasn't as world corrupting as I'd hoped.
Lost Girl (Showcase)- Love this show soooo much!!!
Alphas (Syfy) - really entertaining. The season final was kinda weak to me though.
Homeland (Showtime) - This series is really too much. Genius though.
TERRA NOVA (FOX) - I love it, just wish it was based in the future, not the damn past.
Ringer (CW) - AWESOME!!!!!!! LOVE IT WITH MY LIFE!
Unforgettable (CBS) - Love the whole "I never forget" feeling the main character brings. Why make her a detective though? Lame.
Person of Interest (CBS) - AWESOME!!!!! Love it but not with my life.
The Secret Circle (CW) - Love this show!
The Good Wife (CBS) - This show was awesome in the 1st season. Now...it's getting a little side-tracked.
Falling Skies (TNT) - This TV show was genius. Just wish the characters weren't so stupid.
Young Justice (CN) - Heroes from the DC comics really make me happy. Plus, teenagers? AWESOME!
Grimm (NBC) - My type of show. Just that I feel like it's a ripoff of some other show.
Once Upon a Time (ABC) - really Disney like, in a corny way...but still interesting.
SUITS (USA) - BEST SERIES EVER!!!!!!
Gossip Girl (CN) - I'm an extreme fan-girl for this one!!!! You know you love me XOXO gossip girl~ SO LOVE IT!!!
The Vampire Diaries (CN) - This series just always manages to create some new drama plot.
White Collar (USA) - BEST SERIES EVER!!!!
Thundercats (CN) - Love this cartoon. It's a classic! If it were a manga, I'd soooo read it.

BTW, the "Enlightened" TV series is just so depressing, that I had to drop it. I'm sorry. I love that it is very unique in television, but I really am not ready to watch something like this. It feels like it should be made as movie series instead of TV series. I am really not digging watching new installments of her crappy life.

TV shows I need to watch:
Lost (ABC) - I heard this series was genius. So I'll watch it when I have time.
The Walking Dead (AMC) - The name "walking dead" makes me curious enough. Plus, I watched the trailer.
Sanctuary (Syfy) - The trailer made me curious. Plus, it has allot of fans for some reason. I'm curious.
True Blood (HBO) - I never watched it yet because I didn't really like the first 3 min of the 1st episode. But, I'll give it a second try.
Heroes (NBC) - I heard this series was genius. Plus, I love super heroes!!!! (I've watched the 1st and 2nd season - LOVE IT)

You know what surprises me? I watch this stuff when I'm at work in my job, and I never get caught. I love my life. ~

Holy crap Asahina, you watch a lot of TV :rofl

But I can vouch for Fringe, Lost, and The Walking Dead. All fantastic shows.

I hear from most people who were fans of Heroes that the first two seasons were great and then it got incredibly repetitive. Which led to it being cancelled.

The first season of Heroes was good, I was seriously excited that there was a "cliffhanger-show" I could be excited about. Then some of the actors quit before season 2 I think, so they had to cut their characters out of the story without any explanation and the new characters were bland and had boring story lines. The swiftly paced story-telling of season 1 was completely gone and the events that occured just seemed to drag on for episodes, and left no hint of implication that the story-writers had any idea where the plot was going while writing the episodes. I didn't watch season 3, but I heard it was supposed to be even worse due to some writer's strike so I'll be quite fine without it.

Asahina
November 20, 2011, 01:10 PM
Other TV shows I caught up with:

Caprica (Syfy) (Space) - BEST SERIES EVER! or at least the scientific aspect of it ...this should have been a movie. sucks that it's canceled.
-
The Fades (BBC THREE) - I LOVE THIS Series! The black dude is ugly, but funny. I love angelic & spiritual aspect of this series.
-
Misfits (E4) - I Loved the 1st and 2nd season, but the 3rd season doesn't have my favorite character. The funny dude with the curly afro.
-
A Gifted Man (CBS) - A very interesting show!!! But if it gets canceled, I would not be mad.
-
Merlin (BBC ONE) - I love this show. I'm in love with the story plot. I just wish Merlin wasn't a servant.
-
Smallville (CW) - I already watched all the seasons. It kinda sucks that it's over.
-
John Doe (FOX) - BEST SERIES EVER!!!! Why did they cancel this amazing show?
-
Kyle XY (ABC) - Best series in life! Way better than "Smallville." It has a more believable plot. why did they cancel it? damn it!!!

Other shows I plan to watch:

Eastwick (ABC) - It seems like it will be about women with powers...
-
Prison Break (FOX) - The main character is awesome because he was the main character of "JOHN DOE" - so I plan to watch him again.
-
Castle (ABC) - I plan to just watch the 1st season and that's it. If it gets really entertaining, I'll see about making it my main series.
-
Big Love (HBO) - a story about a guy with 3 wives? I'm interested enough since it maintained by HBO...

Yes, I know I'm watching allot of TV (and I read allot of manga)...but I still find time to balance my life really well. I do go for a 1-2 mile jogging every week, and I eat nutritious foods and all the good stuff - to stay fit, beautiful and SEXY. And I do find time to socialize with friends and family, even when I don't feel like it. The key point is to prioritize your time in a way that it won't effect your life in a negative way.

Also....it REALLY helps to have a high paying job or a good source of income. Especially when you want to have more free time for yourself and not worry too much about bills.

If you watched the trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deOi3Fkc8mQ) for yourself, you'd know.

The CW’s Supernatural (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460681) is clearly what Grimm copied.
Grimm is probably the reason behind what's causing Supernatural to have a bad year on ratings.
But I find it funny that I wasn't thinking of the fact that the new Twilight movie opening the same night of Supernatural airing could have also caused the low ratings of Supernatural.

The bald grandma or aunt of whatever grimm relations he has with her, that part reminds of Fringe in a sense.

But I gotta admit that on Grimm, the man is a great actor and a bit cool! So I should be showing some love to Grimm but the Winchester boys are like the perfect duo on TV. But maybe I should forget comparing it to Supernatural or the Winchesters - Grimm may never hold a candle on its own either.

Grimm is ripping off multiple reimagined story lines, but it sure seems like a rip off of the kids book series "the sisters grimm" in which two sisters plus grandma, the last descendants of the grimms, fight the story book characters aided by the big bad wolf.

Thx Asahina! I thought I would give this tv series a try because its related to Grimm brothers and fantasy in a sense made in a 'detective' way <which can be fun> and now they are making it into full season. Other than that: I didn't think you would compare it to Supernatural - its in a league of its own, I didn't expect that, just a few words about Grimm itself xP

There were a couple flashbacks wasn't there?

I still think the show is amazing, so I don't know if I can really say the quality has taken too noticeable of a drop in all honesty. We've already had more to watch this season than last season, so maybe it's simply a case of the action being slower?

They've stayed in the same place for half of the second season with very little to no action. The goal was to search for a little girl that was lost in the forest for seven episodes with less than spectacular results. Perhaps, the writers are leaving the best for last, but I don't know. The zombie count is much lower than the first season. Shrim.

I suppose so, if you can consider a town more of a civilization than the farm. Which I guess you can.

Terra Nova has been airing here for 5 episodes now. No good. Kinda lame family show, seeds in clues and foreshadows, but any of that fails to raise my interest. The episodic stuff is just lame. And the dinosaurs don't even look that good. Nor the sets. Just meh.

I had meant to give it a shot. The lead, Jason O'Mara was good in the American version of Life on Mars (even though it got cancelled :yelling) and I'm down for Sci-Fi, but it just didn't grab my interest enough to try it yet.

I watched the first season of Terra Nova... it's rather family-oriented, light entertainment. No deep characters or really meaningful story there.
What I liked about it is that it usually had a healthy portion of irony and did not take itself too seriously. So regarding this I prefer TN to Falling Skies.

But right now I'm longing for the start of Game of Thones' season 2. That last trailer made me really anxious.

It's a great show. I know the director Spike Lee denounced the comedy as racist, but I grew up around a place like this and I thought the humor was spot on.

When this new Murphy movie tanks, perhaps he will consider doing a live-action PJs movie.

Yeah, some obvious parodies are not that good, even thought they try to make them as absurd as they can. But when they do a plot with it as well, like in "1%" then they really capture the very fabric of the series. When they specifically involve a character like Cartman or Kyle they can not go wrong. Even Stan and Kenny or Butters but the previous tow are their favorites it seems.

It appears like Chevy Chase is completely out of it. He's been having this verbal fights with the creator since Chevy supposedly walked out in the middle of a finale and said "I'm done". Usually it's between the two but in the latest by Chevy he attacks nt only the creator but all crew and the sitcom calling it mediocre etc.

Not another Charlie Sheen case... I actually find Community hilarious.

I have to question the authenticity here. It might be for publicity considering how notorious Chase is for being like this. That and why would Dan Harmon record it? What does he have to get back at Chase for? He's still on the show...it doesn't make sense if it's real.

ibra87
April 14, 2012, 07:27 PM
Hmm? I'm not quite familiar with Chevy's antics IRL but what you're saying's definitely plausible. Hopefully at least. But as for the recording it's supposedly been more than a single incident so it not that surprising.

As for why he would get back at Chase for, Chase walked out on season 3 finale (supposedly because of a sub par script) --> Dan made a speech about Chase --> chase said this.
I don't know. Not the first time celebrities started a "feud" just for publicity (cough Eminem-Mariah cough)

xi0
April 14, 2012, 09:52 PM
It was just a theory, I don't know. It seems like if Chase bugged-out on set I'm not sure it required him recording a phone call with him. Who knows.

Chevy Chase has been known to be difficult throughout his entire career. Community is the first thing he's done in a long time.

yup... Once upon a Time and Person of Interest were the most appealing new Series this season for me.
The Episodes that took the focus to the love-story of Snow and Charming were a little dragged out in the end but other characters such as Rumpelstilskin or the Mad Hatter are very well written and have an interesting agenda.
A friend of mine called it "Lost with fairy-tale characters"... with all the mysteries and the flashback-narration I think it kinda fits.

Is anybody watching Person of Interest around here? Caviezel is cool as hell and works great with Emerson.
If highly recommend this for anyone who likes a good conspiracy-procedural.

Hmmm this is what I got from wiki:

In early October, NBC delayed the premiere of the fourth season, which had been scheduled for October 19, 2012, without announcing a new date.[4] On October 30, 2012, NBC announced that the fourth season will premiere on February 7, 2013.

And it's as accurate as I remember, cos I was expecting October 19th then it was delayed without giving a replacement date. That's when the whole October 19th jokes began... Why can't they cancel something, I'm sure there's plenty of shitty shows on that network, or better yet, just pass it over to another network. Looking at the season 4 news, I didn't realise many other people besides Dan Harmon had left the show:

The end of the third season also marks several other departures including executive producers Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan, writer/producer Chris McKenna, actor/writer Dino Stamatopoulos, and frequent episode directors and executive producers Anthony and Joe Russo.

I like Community, but it's been spotty since after the first season. Plus, with that much bloodletting behind the scenes, I wonder why they even keep it around. It has a loyal following I suppose, but when the main creative force has the show taken from him I sort of wonder why NBC is even bothering with it.

Interestingly though, it's being moved back to Thursdays instead of it airing on Fridays, so maybe they're assuming one of their Thursday night comedies will be cancelled? Or maybe will have a short or split season?

Mehhhh. It was okay. I thought that the ending rather fit the rest of the series. I was shocked that so many characters died. Usually every episode involves Merlin spying on someone and seeing something he shouldn't have, a main character gets in trouble and has a near-death experience, and then they end up saying something along the lines of "I don't have a choice" or "you've left me no choice". XD That series is so predictable that it's funny. However, I didn't really expect that very last 30 second snippet. They left a lot of room open for a spin-off/sequel. If I would have to put it in a specific genre I would call it a conspiracy-thriller/character-drama.
