Níl a fhios agam go bhfuil comhtharlú é nó d'aon ghnó (mar is ár lá saoire náisiúnta é), ach tá an lá seo i lár na tSeachtain na Gaeilge. Mar sin, sílim go bhfuil sé orm scríobh as Gaeilge.

It's the day everyone gets hammered on Guinness and wears massive tophats shaped like a shamrock :)
I did not know it was Saint Patricks day either till I went into work and saw it on my desk callender.
I do not really know all of the history behind it. But I know that it was at first largly celebrated by the Irish and today it mainly consists of wearing green, drinking green beer and seeing green shamrocks everywhere in celebration of being Irish.Quote:

It's the national holiday of Ireland. St Patrick's our patron saint.
It's as important to the Irish as Thanksgiving or Independence Day would be to Americans.

Even though the article's been vandalised somewhat (Drunken Leprechaun Day? Purple?), you can still see that apart from being the colour that represents Ireland, green actually has nothing to do with the day itself specifically.
