I'll start by saying my favorite episode is 25, where the parody Death note and Naruto. Gintoki and Shinpachi thinking as if they were Kira and Light, then Gintoki smiling like Kira was so Death-Note like that I found it hilarious.

Is it? I only watched the movie version of Death Note so I wasn't able to spot the parody.

My favorite episodes got to be:
8 - Shinsengumi parodying reality TV cop show.
9 - Fighting scene :)
18 - Pantsu thief
21- Second part where Gin san went berserk in finding a fan
24 - Gin San and Zura in drag. They are so pretty here!
26 - Sheer silliness of the puns especially "Yoroshiku" -This pun does carry over to Chinese as well. "Die painfully at night". XD XD
31 & 32 - Where Gin san lost his memory
36- Some kind of religious scam. You got to watch this - Gin san has straight hair here. XD
45 - Sadaharou became super big.
48 - Gin san and Hijikata duked it out in unconventional ways.
49 - Strip Mahjong and the reference to "Akagi" anime here.
50- Mega parody of everything!!!XD
51 & 52 - Gin san's love child?! LOL

If you ask me, I watched episode 26 onwards with chinese subtitles at www.tudou.com
Normally those Chinese translators are super fast and efficient. They can finish translating the newest episode in just 1 day and put up for downloading on Saturday. Take note that the original episodes air in Japan on Thursday! O_o

As of now I'm waiting for episode 53.

Wow, you got me really hyped up for episode 43 with Orochimaru's voice. Unfortunately I can't read Chinese so I'll have to stick with Rumbel subs, who are at episode 27 now.

And episode 24 is the one with the cross dressing, right? I didn't really like that one >.<

Lol, actually you shouldn't be hyped about episode 43 because that Orochimaru parody only lasted for 3 seconds. In fact it was only in my second viewing that I saw that.

Yup episode 24 is the cross dressing episode. It's ok not to like it, after all it's your personal preference.

I am also watching Rumbel subs because sometimes the Chinese subs fail to translate the puns.

Hey, anyone know where I can get English subs for eps. 28+? :)

You can check rumbel subs and shisen subs on their project status. Unfortunately Gintama is not on their priority now. :.( Rumbel likes to keep translating Bleach while Shinsen subs like to keep translating other titles.

In conclusion: Nowhere soon. You can give up hope on them like I did and watched the chinese subtitle version.

So, where can I find these Chinese subtitled versions? And are they in English? I'm hoping it means that the Chinese is put into English. :sweatdrop

Lol I wish that was the case but no. The subtitles are in Chinese while the voices are still in Japanese.

My favorite episodes have to be 50 (OMG I was hyper because of it for days XDDD)
and the episode where Hijikata&Gintoki are scared of ghosts. I also love the episode where Shinsengumi is ordered to kill Shinsengumi's boss' daughter's boyfriend but it hasn't been subbed yet. XDD

I also like that episode regarding the Shinsengumi's boss's daughter! That was very funny and yucky at the same time because Okita forced her boyfriend to crap in his pants. Eeww!! And then she also admitted that she had crapped herself too. After that her boyfriend changed his clothes but she didn't. :blink

What was even funnier was that Hijikata saved the day by using a mayonnaise shaped RPG. :D

Let's just pray the "surprise" Rumbel sub have in store for us is something special like a multi episode release :nuts (although I doubt it)

And yeah cowsings (sorry for the late answer, btw :darn), if you try watching the anime of Death Note you will see how perfectly done the parody of it in episode 25 is. There's no way any actor can imitate Light as far as I'm concerned.

It's ok. I have watched Death Note anime up to Episode 6 but I haven't found the similarity so far. Guess I've have to watch more Death Note Episodes then. :D
