Not really sure. I think the story could continue in some fashion with a new set of characters. The current ones either lack depth or are overused and stale, IMO.

He said a while ago that the story would be in three phases. This is the final phase and it really is lookin like the story is wrapping up. Thankfully, I can't imagine how much worse it'd get if Oku carried on.
Hell, you just have to look at how inactive the discussion threads are now, compared to what they used to be like. Even if he did continue, people are losing interest.
