It is crazy even though it is declining from the past arc it is slowly getting back with the current arc with volg 1000chapters is crazy!.. Inoue's look like a Rukawa going to box ^^ I prefer Miura's drawing and his notes is great knowing on how great his manga is he still respect the guy... A bad development to a fight that while initially promising has dragged on way too long and dived into the ocean of B.S. along the way. A character with infinite ability to read attack patterns does not suddenly change their defense (going from a 1-handed parry to a 2-handed block) and ignore their basic strategy to the fight.

I don't think Mike is aware of any of his coach's dirty methods. And as you said he must be out of his self to even realize the referee helped him.
I've been told that the wait between 1002 and 1003 was the longest wait for a translation since people started translating the series. I'm not sure what was causing the issue for Mangastream, but they've shown they can release chapters in short succession or take months between chapters or both.Quote:

Why would Mike give up after finding out about the ref? The ref screwed him of the victory by not stopping the fight early one when he was beating the living shit out of Volg for long periods of time without Volg fighting back. Fans might not like early stops, but you absolutely have to make that stop for the safety of the fighters. Of course, in Hajime no Ippo's world, Ippo isn't brain dead despite having the living shit beaten out of him in almost every single one of his fights.
