About the series:
Teikou middle school Basketball Club, a super strong school with more than 100 club members, boasting several successive championship wins. But even in that glorious history, there is still a team that can without fail be called the “strongest”... A generation with five players with a talent like you would see once in ten years, called the “Generation of Miracles”
But... There was a strange rumor about the “Generation of Miracles”. Despite nobody knowing him and not being in any match records, there was still one more person the 5 geniuses acknowledged as superior... The phantom, sixth player: Kuroko
When he joins the high school basketball team, everyone is surprised to find out that he is small, weak, and easy to miss. What is the secret that makes him so strong, and how will he help his high school team?

New Basketball manga in WSJ. Will this be one of the new series to survive? More details as they come.
Right now the main character looks like he may be blind or something.
Re: [NEWCOMER] Kuroko no Basket by Tadatoshi Fujimaki
raw is out. I like it. I'll wait the trans to a complete judgement e i hope that someone does quickly :-)
Btw, i was hoping that the main character was a point guard and i like the supporting char.
I like the draw, it seems very suitable to a basket manga.
Re: [NEWCOMER] Kuroko no Basket by Tadatoshi Fujimaki
There is too many bad Basketball series out there. Of the ones I've read besides Slam Dunk, every single main character has been a shorty with speed, it's annoying. But it would be sweet with a new good sports manga.

Anxiously waiting for a trans. This one seems great. ;)

I know what you mean, but let´s face it: Slam Dunk is just TOO good.
It´s almost unfair to try to compare any other basketball manga with it. :amuse
Ahiru no Sora is quite interesting, though. Yeah, the main character is a shorty, but it´s kinda cool to have a 3-pointer shooter as the main player of the team. :p (yeah, biased, I know. I´m a shooting guard :D...but the manga is pretty cool regardless. Some awesome characters in that shit.)

From what I can tell, Kuroko really isn't that much of a speedster (if those statistics were accurate ;)). He really seems to be a fairly bad player, except for the fact that he is an amazing passer. I personally like that the main character will be focused on passing more than scoring. Seems like an interesting change of pace to most basketball manga's I've read (w/ the exception of Slam Dunk where the main character was an amazing rebounder and a so-so offensive player).
Anyways, so far so good. Let's hope we get a trans quicker than we got the raw :p.

Who i have to pay to translate that? :XD
I'm joking but not so much...:p
Anyway if someone is working on it, let me know, please. Just to let me sleep tonight, you know... :XD
:wtf

Haven´t been so pumped up for a new series in a long time. :amuse
Just looking at the raw, it seems more interesting than Meister.
DAAAMN, maaaan. Can´t wait for a translation. :darn:darn
PLEASE, translators, just LOOK at the raw. I´m sure we´ll find it quite neat. :darn
Re: [NEWCOMER] Kuroko no Basket by Tadatoshi Fujimaki
the art looks very similar to Double Arts
I have a feeling Meistar will make it further than this series though
Re: [NEWCOMER] Kuroko no Basket by Tadatoshi Fujimaki
Hmmm... Fine. I'll translate it :p I didn't really want to take on a third project, but I like this one, so I'll give it a try. Don't expect the translation anytime today, though, I'm a bit busy, and I can't promise I won't end up translating this week's ES21 before this one. But I'll still translate it, eventually, I guess :shakefist

Xophien the best :D
Re: [NEWCOMER] Kuroko no Basket by Tadatoshi Fujimaki
Thanks, Xophien ;)
Unlike Dogashi no Kaden, this one looks more "realistic". Of course I cannot say any final words without seeing a complete translation; but I'm getting a good feeling about this new manga. I hope it doesn't die too soon.
Re: [NEWCOMER] Kuroko no Basket by Tadatoshi Fujimaki
Dogashi no Kaden was no fun. This seems better.

I've been looking for a newer basketball manga to enjoy, I watch slam dunk but I wanted something more modern, and my wish has just come true. It would be great if Prince of Tennis creator could make a basketball manga adaptation. Imagine a basketball Ryoma, mada mada dane, lol.
