The box set, DVD, and BD covers are from the original DVD covers, reproduced in the Visuals of SEL Artbook. There are some additional color prints in the info booklet too. The art book that comes with the set only includes black and white sketches and concept art. I'm not sure if they were in the old artbook or not.

A new version of CCCP came out tonight, and suddenly it can't render subtitles for older videos (ex: anime from 2010). Having no patience to post logs to CCCP's forum, and wait for an answer, I decided to find a new codec. A google search turned up something called "k-lite codec pack". No idea if it's any good, but subtitles work again. MPC-HC had to be dl'ed separately, kind of a bitch, but not that big a deal. I've been using CCCP for six or seven years now, without any problem. Any other codec suggestions? I don't want anything technical, just something simple to use and light weight,

You could always install the previous version? Hm, thanks for the info, got to backup the old version now. Used k-lite and the Haali Media Splitter before, not that there were many problems, I think I've only gone 100% CCCP for the 10bit codecs one/two years back.

First anime of the new season are out! Parts 1 - 3 of Nekomonogatari have been subbed. Episode one of Yama no Susume, Ai Mai Mi, and Mangirl have also been subbed. Episodes are only three minutes long, if anyone is interested in watching.

I dont know it this was posted here, so...
Blu Ray version of One Piece Episode of Nami is out.
The World of Golden Eggs (a pun Gintama fans should be able to figure out) is not an anime in the strictest sense, but is an animated comedy airing on MTV Japan. From what I understand it has more in common with animation from the American Adult Swim block (Aquateen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman, etc.) than it has with more typical anime.

I forget where I first heard about it, probably from looking at BD rankings years ago. The title was so strange I had to wiki it, I couldn't help myself. I didn't get the pun back then, at the time I thought it was Engrish.

I have a new favorite animated short. This one was a bachelor film project from The Animation Workshop in Viborg, Denmark.
Watch it, it's short, entertaining and has a very good animation quality, for the animals at least.

I watched a few episodes but I'm not sure what to make of it.
What are your thoughts?

Uu, today (February 24th as I'm posting this) is the date of first episode of xxxHolic live action drama to be aired. I wonder how fast I'll get to see the episode with English subtitle... What does everyone think about the series so far from photos and trailers (which I haven't seen, I think, lol)? I'm rather worried about fantasy series turning into a drama but we'll see. :P

Re: Otaku Theater: Anime Hangout
does anyone else here use crunchyroll.com?
i am honestly a bit dissapointed right now, i pay around 10$ (usd) a month to have a membership, and i was told by a friend that they usually had the latest releases before anyone else, and the fact that its legal sonibdont have to watch on a shady website with popups
but some of these newer series, like the ones currently airing,
are taking forever to update, so indont understand the point in waiting several extra days on a pay-to veiw website when i can just watch for free on some other site
