Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
Beckham going to PSG doesn't suprise me tbh. I knew he would be coming back to Europe what does suprise me is the fact that he will be playing for "free" and giving away his wages to a charity. Sounds awfully kind and decent of him but to me smells fishy. I guess the long term association and "being part" of the big project for PSG is what's really up.
QPR paying fricking 12.5 million for Samba :o
Loftus Road has a stadium capacity of about 15,000 and really hope they stay up because if they don't they're eternally screwed. :x
Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
Yeah I kinda want QPR to stay up.... but then, they don't really deserver to stay up do they?
Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
I like Harry. The first half of the season, QPR deserved to be relegated, but if Harry can turn QPR around as he has done so far and keep getting them draws or an odd win, then they probably just deserve to stay up.
Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
With the players he brought in, they certainly gonna be fighting to stay up now.
Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
England deservedly beats Brazil 2-1.
Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the US doesn't qualify for Brazil. I said that back during the qualifying draw...
Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
Portugal lost against Ecuador, things are looking for us either, if we keep playing like this :fail

Yeah but that's not a WC Qualifying match :XD
The other two matches drew in the Hex, so we're in last place :s

Yeah, i know. But still Portugal has been doing bad lately, and loosing vs Ecuador isn't good. It was a moment for us to win and start practicing good football, but it didn't happen ... so i am afraid when we "wake up" it might be already too late :(

Yeah, we looked uninspired against Canada last week or so, so I should have seen it coming. I guess it's good it was an away match though...
Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
fuck friendly games, they mean shit,we won 4-0 against s.korea, but no one gives a shit if we dont beat serbia
germany is the best example, they do bad most of the time, before a big competition but when it starts they win
Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
Germany actually beat France this year, although they lost last year.
Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
We lost to Peru...... not that I expected us to win. Our football is in a total mess right now...after 06 WC we haven't played any kind of football.
Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
Thoughts on the new spending limits for the Premier League that City opposed, but Chelsea voted for? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21374699
This will be a nice thing if it actually comes to pass (and isn't just handwaved at, but nothing actually is inflicted or done if teams massively violate these rules) as it'll stop some of the crazy spending, such as 15m for Zaha and 32m for Oscar, let alone the awful Torres and Carroll transfers.

On other news, Roman has supposedly reentered contract negotiations with Lampard.
Re: The Football/Soccer Thread v2
Oh, I thought the Lampard to LA thing was practically a done thing
