You guys are trying to find reasons behind what he did. I simply think that Griffith is evil. He did that because he could. You can't even imagine what went through his mind during his endless torture... He blamed Guts for what happened to him, he also knows about him and Casca, so he wanted him to live a "good" experience like the one he suffered.

I hate how its that laggy vision camera crap in the caska flashback it just looks silly, just have it fast pace lol. But Impressed that they showed the guy rip caska clothes off when she is a child. By being impress I mean they did not censor it so maybe the 3rd movie won't be censor as much either.
I think they had to have that effect for the flashback to become less um... vivid- or to show that it is a quite gruesome memory- so it has a sort of jarring, rough, out of sync feel.
But it looks retarded, the same in the first movie with Guts flashback XD
