The son of Konoha's White Fang, Hatake Kakashi is widely considered the best of his generation and a pure genius; he graduated from the Academy at age 5, becoming a chūnin at age 6, a jōnin at 13, and had a long tenure as an member of Konoha's ANBU. Although, his skills were always top notch, he didn't come into his own until after he acquired a sharingan from his best friend. It's with this added ability that Kakashi became known as "Sharingan Kakashi" or "Copy Ninja Kakashi". A monicure derived from him being said to have copied over a thousand jutsu.

Jiraiya is a renown man of many names and holds a reputation as a shinobi of enormous power. He often summons toads in battle, one of his most famous summons is the giant frog Gamabunta, but his perhaps greatest and most powerful summons are the Elder Frogs, Shima and Fukasaku who can help Jiraiya get into his most powerful form, Sage Mode, to greatly enhance his abilities and body. Both in and outside of Sage Mode Jiraiya has a vast arsenal of techniques like the hair needle, lion mane, swamp of the underworld and fire element techniques. Jiraiya is also able to produce oil, powerful genjutsu while in Sage Mode, perform advanced sealing techniques, create powerful barriers and last but not least, he's able to perform the Rasengan.

I don't know why but it seems as if Kakashi has nothing on Jiraiya.

Summoning the frogs would put Kakashi in a very uneasy position, as usual Kakashi would have to rely on his Sharingan but I doubt that would enough. The moment Jiraiya summons one or two frogs Kakashi would turn to Kamui and trie to suck the frog away. The time and amount of chakra should be enough for Jiraiya to do many things; counter attack, make up a strategy or go into Sage mode. If Jiraiya enters the last one it's pretty much over. Not only will he succeed Kakashi in Taijutsu but also Nin and with the aid of Pa and Ma even Genjutsu.

I can't really see Kakashi do anything that would give him the upper hand or the victory...

I said this when the tournament began. Kakashi's Kamui can 1 Hit KO almost every opponent. Especially since its "speed" has drastically increased to the point where he was able to absorb the arrow from Susano'o. So even if he only manages to get a chunk of someones body the blood loss and injuries should be enough to tip the scales in his favor But hes gonna lose.

LOL Kakashi can actualy win this considering JMan has no idea about Kamui and all Kakashi needs to do is look at him.

jiriaya easily especially in sage mod eh can get ma and pa to put kakashi in genjutsu then use hiro or gambunta to crush him. or just use a huge rasegan on him. plus he can use his toad stomach to capture kakashi. and kakashi will probably run pit of chakra really fast. he cant keep up with a chakra beast that jiriaya is. and jiriaya can get a frog to reverse summon him to get him out of the way of kamui. kakashi get tired after one and it would be all over.

Kakashi has the skills to pressure Jiraiya early on in a fight, but I just cannot see Kakashi overcoming the stamina difference between himself and Jiraiya. If you take summons out of the picture, Kakashi would have a much better chance, but Jiraiya's big summons buy him too much extra fighting power and time to get into sage mode. Kakashi's summons are more like a sensor-type nin, which is great in overall terms but not so much in a 1v1 fight. If you think about it, it'd kind of be like Sasuke + Juugo versus Sasuke + Karin without healing abilities. Karin has her uses but in that situation, she's a handicap.

I'd argue that Kakashi is on par with Jiraiya in every stat pre-sage mode, and has better base ninjutsu/speed, he just of course lacks the stamina of Jiraiya. This is easily remedied, however, by Kakashi's Kamui, and the fact that it takes Jiraiya so long to enter sage mode. It sucks to see one of them go, but if they know it is a fight to the death going into it, Kakashi has no trouble Kamui'ing right off the bat, or at least keeping Jiraiya out of Sage Mode until his opportunity strikes.

As an added note: who else wants to see a Jiraiya/Kakashi Rasengan/Raikiri clash? haha

Kakashi takes this. Jiraiya may have more stamina then him, but the fight won't last long enough for that to matter. Kakashi has the edge with Kamui, which Jiraiya has no knowledge on and has no way to counter. With his intelligence and speed, Kakashi should be able to keep the pressure on Jiraiya and take him out at the first chance he gets.

Kakashi actually has more of a chance than given credit. He may not be a chakra monster, but Kakashi's smart and far more rounded than Jiraiya in battle. Jiraiya's doton and katon can be countered by Kakashi's raiton, suiton, and doton. I don't think Kakashi would bring his Kamui out so early, not when Jiraiya's at his top and still unknown.

One of the reasons why JIraiya was able to get into Sage Mode was because of Animal Realm not attacking him. It was the summons that did, something that Ken wouldn't have a problem defending against. Kakashi could attack Jiraiya while he's prepping to go in Sage Mode. As Pain proved, Kakashi would be hard to hit, especially with his speed and Sharingan.

Please, Kamui needs tons of concentration. Besides People seem to underestimate what actually happens if Kakashi overuses it... dead, you remember? Not many techniques make the copy ninja pant after one use but Kamui had a visible effect on him when he blocked Sasuke's arrow. Chances are he won't use it early on and by the time Sannin is complete Kakashi won't be able to do anything. Not a thing. Besides, let's say he realizes (which will completely be against the rules) in how much of a disadvantage he is against Jiraya and he needs to use Kamui early to defeat him. He uses it, if Kakashi fucks up, which are good chances for Jiraya's dexterity and the demand of high concentration from the technique, he'll be done for. EVEN if he takes... let's say... an arm, Jiraya single handedly (pun intended) fought against the six bodies of Pein in that same way... while Kakashi was pawned by one (two but he had reinforcements by then).

Kakashi can win this without Kamui. He can use his hypnotic genjutsu to make Jiraiya use a certain jutsu than respond appropriately. By making Jiraiya use a certain jutsu, he can eliminate the problem of dealing with more problematic jutsu.

Or

Kakashi can use this genjutsu to put Jiraiya and a summon to sleep instantly. After that Kakashi wins.

Or

Kakashi can use the gates and blitz Jiraiya.

Or


Kakashi can hide under ground have a lightening clone come close to him through the ground than use Raikiri or Kamui.

What the? Guys, Kakashi's not the kind of guy that'll use Kamui right on the spot. He's the kind that'll feel out his opponent first and see how they attack, plan, etc.

Well Kamui was both his first and second jutsu that he used against Deidara. And he did use it after like 2 minutes of fighting Sasuke. And he was going to use it right off of the bat against Madara.

I believe these two shinobi are possible the two most overrated in the manga. Mainly cause of how the Manga show cased them. But anyway I voted for Kakashi.... MS is two power. Especially since Jiraiya has no prior knowledge of it.
