Satoshi Kon recently passed away last year and it made me go back and watch all his creations. They really are amazing. I would compare the animation quality to that of Studio Ghibli but the subject matter is definitely more adult.
Movies he has been involved with are Millennium Actress, Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers, Perfect Blue.
He also worked on an anime series called Paranoia Agent, it's fairly short.
Does anyone else like his work as much as me?
