But he showed it in a different way. He calmly told the animal to back off, without any hint of anger or force, I think. All the other times, it was with force or anger or desperation. I don't think we saw this kind of conqueror's haki from Luffy until the timeskip, when he was talking to the animals before leaving the island.
And haki could be used by almost anyone, no? But the conqueror's haki is pretty rare.

Uhm... We've actually seen Shanks using Haoushoku in Chapter 1 (or Episode 4) when he fended off Lord of the Coast with nothing but his angry look. I agree that Luffy used it for the first time against Motobaro.
As Rayleigh explained, falling unconscious only happens if the stress from the Haoushoku is too much.
Re: Awesome Oda Foreshadowing/Recurring Phrases/Images, share!
... I'm not talking about the haki itself, but Luffy getting the haki.
Re: Awesome Oda Foreshadowing/Recurring Phrases/Images, share!
I dig in the archive and our first postsspeaks about luffy having the same power as Shanks. So even if it was not perfectly known at that time how it works, you can't really say it is a foreshadowing (otherwise it's an obvious one)
Re: Awesome Oda Foreshadowing/Recurring Phrases/Images, share!
ive noticed two major foreshadowing events , and they are obvious
but i was just making sure this is what you guys are talking about
one: when blackbeard and ace first fought, they made it a point to note that this would later shape other events in the world
and
two: towards the end of the battle at marineford , when koby ran out to yell for everyone to stop
the narrator made it clear that this one act of courage would later change certain events or something like that
Re: Awesome Oda Foreshadowing/Recurring Phrases/Images, share!
Don't know if anyone has postet this yet, but:
When you look at DoFla's and Law's Jolly Rogers, it becomes pretty clear, that those two were allways meant to fight each other:

Well, it's not much of a foreshadowing because it means that One Piece will change the world, which was already made clear with Whitebeard's last words, and that Luffy will find One Piece, which we already know.
If you don't get it, the narrator Shanks said that because he thinks Luffy will find One Piece (he bet his arm on the new generation) and because in this situation what Coby did without knowing with these few seconds of courage was saving Luffy's life stopping everyone at this moment.
When Coby stopped Akainu, Kizaru was about to destroy Law's submarine with Luffy on the pontoon bridge - Ben Beckman didn't manage to stop him - but he stopped to look for what was happening between Coby and Akainu. Within this time, Luffy got inside the submarine who submerged to get away.
Then, Kizaru tried again to destroy the submarine, and so did Aokiji but it was too late and Luffy and Law managed to get away. Law and Jinbe confirmed that one more attack would have killed Luffy at that time. That's why a laser from Kizaru would have meant Luffy's death for sure.

"Shiryuu thanks to diamond fruit" good prediction :)
this could be true coz when zoro cuts steel first time daz bones asks him "if he is going to cut diamond next" and then oda shows diamond jozu with diamond body fruit....maybe BB steals it and gives it to shiruyu...then in zoro vs shiryu fight zoro will finally cut diamond too...could be a major foreshadowing...idk if anyone mentioned this b4...just popped in my mind...:^_^

I came up with that Idea and posted about it not long after Jinbe warned Luffy about Blackbreads hunt for devil fruit powers.

I think that Oda is hinting here at Sanji getting a gril soon :3c On Sanjis T-shiry we can see girl and 3:00 and on big clock there is around 2:00 if we look at Zoro not Brook.

Re: Awesome Oda Foreshadowing/Recurring Phrases/Images, share!
there is a foreshadows of zoro who says fire swords will not be bad
http://www.mangareader.net/103-2233-...apter-126.html
also there will be a visit to the island of giants why? because ussop said he would love to fight as brave as the giant like dorgy
http://www.mangareader.net/103-2224-...apter-117.html
http://www.mangareader.net/103-2224-...apter-117.html
i think ussop will be retrained by giants to make him brave
---------- Post added at 06:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:58 PM ----------
zoro will learn fire sword technique from kinemon
---------- Post added at 06:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:05 PM ----------
http://www.mangareader.net/103-2236-...apter-129.html
luffy pledges to ussop to go to the home of the giants this means if oda is a truly great writer ussop will visit the islang of giants
i predict if there is any problems with the island ussop will be the hero of that arc not luffy
it will chance ussop' cowardness into bravery
i know this seems crazy but ussop will be a hero of the arc hence other strawhat members will be heroes of different arcs like zoro saving kinemon's home land wano

would be awesome if his lies about having 8000 followers became real as well. The good thing is it's totally plausible, considering the prediction of "big war".

You know what would add to that awesomeness? If Oda merged this with the whole Usopp/Elbaf/Giants foreshadowing, and at some point Usopp stands as the leader of 8000 giant warriors. I'd piss my pants.

Usopp has earned great respect from Oimo and Kashi. The giants probably have returned to Elbaf now and telling great stuff about him to other Elbaf people. They will end up respecting him as well. So the idea it's not impossible at all... Imagine that really happens, oh the gasm.
anyway now that you mentioned it, could this be applied to Zoro and Wano samurais as well? I mean, he is now the true wielder of Shushui, a katana once belonged to the legendary hero of Wano. They might considered him the 'sacred' heir of Ryuuma or something like that for wielding the katana. You guess the rest.
