Yokohama Kaidashi Kiko
Oyasumi Punpun. Great story, sad moments - nearly perfect in this category
My vote without any doubts goes to Yotsuba&!
This is a tough one.I guess I'll support Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou.
I nominate Saint Young Men. It's very hilarious. Its popularity is well-justified.
I support BECK,that is the manga which deals with music. I vote this because I love music and this manga really showed developments in its characater which really forced readers to be a part of it. read it,I reccomend it!!
I support Yotsuba&! for the best Slice of life.
I support Bakuman
Go Bakuman.
:shakefist
I'm supporting Bakuman as well. I always wanted to know how manga were made and published. It was interesting to know. Hopefully it motivates many people to try their hand at manga so we could have more interesting pieces to read in the future!!
For slice of life, I would go for something that I could compare to my everyday experience. So the life of unprobable teenagers mangaka doesn't fit.
Although I love Sket Dance, it is before all a comedy.
Unfortunatly I haven't read Azumanga yet but I may give it a try. So let's go for one of my big 2011 revelation : Yotsuba
As Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou did not make it,this choice becomes an easy one. It's Yotsuba&! for me.
Bakuman is good, but had it fair share of weak arcs not planned properly and wasted characters. I still like it a lot though, but it isn't really consistent. Sket Dan is comedy more than slice of life. Oyasumi Punpun is still on my to-read-list.
So, it comes down to two manga by the same author. Azumanga Daioh was lot of fun and really did well for 4-koma. But Yotsuba&! is just step beyond. So full of life. I always feel good when reading it. It's amazing.
Yes it sad Yokohama didn't make. I would have like to see the result of its duel against Yotsuba :-)
