Then yes. They are together, Meryem dies at Komugi's lap and Komugi dies after saying his name. So twin deaths is right.
Re: Best Death/Saddest Moment
Jiraiya's death.. i missed him a lot :((

Anyone who saw it understands! The emotion of the scene leaves anyone speechless it is impossible to describe...
I support this nomination.

Re: Best Death/Saddest Moment
I'd like to nominate Vegeta's death against Freeza in Dragon Ball Z for Best Death/Saddest Moment.
My reason is very simple, I was a kid at the time and I had the saddest dream involving his death the night that followed. No other character's death moved me like that since then.
Re: Best Death/Saddest Moment
Merry Go Viking Funeral of One Piece I cried the first time I read the chapter and still cry every time I reread it. The feeling of friendship and sacrifice was captured brilliantly by Oda.

If that had happened recently I think that'd be the clear winner but it's a few years old now and for the most part it's in the back of people's memories, but I feel ya about the scene I tear jerk every time I re-read or re-watch it

I second this. Jiraiya had a long life, full of multiple mistakes and shortcomings, but in his death, he created the opportunity for Naruto to defeat Pain. He was also almost single-handedly carrying the humor in the manga, so his death definitely hurt, even from a writing perspective.
Vote is in the spoiler tag, but I agree with 3c

Yeah, I know. The problem with recentness was one of my main concerns about this event, too. But, the mods didn't limit the nominations just for this year or recently. So, I just go with the flow. Without the limit of time of publication, just as you say, this chapter will be a clear winner.
Re: Best Death/Saddest Moment
I would definitely vote for Clannad but there's too many sad scenes ftrghghfd :'(
Well then, guess I'll go for this
I nominate the scene where Okazaki Ushio finally cries in her father's (Okazaki Tomoya) arms, from Clannad, for the Best Death/Saddest Moment
Because this scene never fails to tear me up, even after watching for hundred times

The latter person is unknown if it's death, but it was known that being with him was a certain death.
I nominate that event as well.
It was a very deep moment and all the words were particular emotive and thoughtful.

Tha part where it implies he got blind, and there is only a background with speechs baloons of him asking if Komugi was still there was genial! Then we got to see what really happened to him and he was destroyed, because of a trick of humanity's evilness!!! He was the villain but he choose to die a peaceful death with the one he loved, and even though he never won a chess(? I forgot the name of game) against Komugi he got his wish granted and she called him by his name... The whole thing was heartbreaking!
Re: Best Death/Saddest Moment
Spoiler: Nomination (Naruto)
showI nominate Itachi's death for best death/saddest moment.
It was the perfect ending for a great fight. Especially after we learned the whispered words, the whole sequence became a classic for me. The placing and content of each and every single panel is seminar quality.
Re: Best Death/Saddest Moment
I have to say that even if I gave my nomination to a character in HxH ... there is only one manga which almost made me cry with a boat ...
Re: Best Death/Saddest Moment
I nominate Ch. 501 of Naruto where Kushina is hugging Naruto as the Saddest Moment.
