I can't add anything... A flawless episode. 10/10
Is it true that there's no episode next week? =O

Crunchyroll has it listed as airing next week. But can't dispute the official website.
Re: HxH MadHouse Anime Discussion! Part 2
And Squala bite the dust...I knew it would happen but I do feel sorry for him and Eliza.:(
I never really understood why Melody would help Kurapika. You are talking about the troupe that wiped out 2000 people, what would motivate Melody to help capture one of them? She doesn't even know kurapika that long unlike gon and co.
Overall, a pretty good episode.

Maybe it's a last-minute change, because in this pic too, it was supposed to air next week.

what happened, why is this place so dead? D:
anyway, great episode. Gave me the chills when Chrollo says "Go" and you know shit is about to get real.
And seriously, can Nobunaga get any more badass? I honestly didn't care for him before the anime but MH is doing such an excellent job of portraying him :o
Argh damnit I want Togashi to return now and continue the story. I'm excited for the new world but I definitely need some new Kurapika vs. Spiders action :blai

Get used to this delay folks. When you get a job, you enter a new era in your life. An era that kills your eternal free time.
I'm still in the writing process. Finished watching the new episode and now I'm watching the old version which will take some time due to the filler, and I have another appointment later on so don't expect my comparison to be up for a while.
Re: HxH MadHouse Anime Discussion! Part 2
So guys. I'm really at a lost for words here. The best way i can describe this is, it should be freaking ILLEGAL to be THIS epic. Like wow, 23 minutes felt like 6 minutes. I felt like i was watching a mainstream shounen version of Death Note. No real action, but everything was just so intense. Times like this that tempt me to go ahead and read the manga, but if i do that i'll spoil the anime for myself :pout It's like i'm fighting myself. My will-power vs my excitement. I'm actually worried about my enjoyment for the future of this series now, because this Troupe Arc has set the bar for this series pretty damn high. I have no idea how Togashi plans to outdo himself with THIS on his plate. Masterpiece is the closest word that comes to describing it.
Now about the episode: Squala NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Why does the black guy always have to die?!?!?! Just when i was starting to like him :( i especially feel bad for his girl. About his death though... even as a non manga reader i could tell something was censored about that scene. Will MADHOUSE ever be able to show straight up decapitation? I know a morning slot and all, but how are you gonna take the most violent manga in JUMP and give it a kids time slot? Instead of prime time like Magi or Naruto? Well, granted HxH is a long runner and Magi's time slot is practically legendary, not easy to get, but i'm sure MADHOUSE could have found SOME kind of Prime Time slot. Also, nice choice of outfit Kurapika -.- not like people weren't already questioning your sexuality. Oh Togashi... Also, am i the only one who feels Leorio keeps being put on the back burner? Even my friend who i got into HxH whose completely new to it like me (only i have more background knowledge about it should as Togashi's hiatuses and the original anime and it's changes etc etc) thinks Leorios just kinda....there. He's not really doing anything. Madhouse. Y U No Let Leorio Shine?! Even Kuwabara did more than this! Well, actually Kuwabara did a crap load of stop so that's a bad comparison, but still. I wonder if Hisoka is gonna help Gon and Killua. Hmmm. So many questions but a 7 day wait UGH. It's torture!
Finally, i realize now that MADHOUSE has some kind of Depature fetish, but it's been way more than 26 episodes, why hasn't Hunting For Your Dream changed? Granted, i love the song unlike Depature. It always makes the ending THAT much more suspenseful, but still...you're breaking the balance here MADHOUSE. It's been more than 26 episodes...
Re: HxH MadHouse Anime Discussion! Part 2
this December I think Reason is the new ED... and their selling new OST...
Re: HxH MadHouse Anime Discussion! Part 2
Squala's death in the manga made me sad, and the same is the case here. Out of the bodyguards, his death hit me the hardest. In any case, this was an excellent episode, and I don't have anything to criticize.
And yeah, MH is doing an exceptional job with Nobunaga. I never payed too much attention to him prior to this adaptation.
Here's hoping they show epic Leorio in the upcoming episodes.
9.5/10
Re: HxH MadHouse Anime Discussion! Part 2
This is why I love that MH has done a bit more in introducing some characters...To have grief in their deaths.
Excellent death. I loved mostly the voice in that moment, felt so...passionate, and honest.

That's more of a combination of Madhouse and Togashi sadly.

It's not unusual at all to keep an opening/ending for a set amount of episodes that isn't a multiple of 26. To be honest I only see the shorter animes do it but the longer running ones don't tend to.
Plus it's kind of hard to fit all of Yorkshin within 26 episodes, unlike the Hunter Exam and Zoldyck arcs. I'm guessing MH wants to be really organized and only change their songs at the beginning of a new story.

-EPISODE 56-
Manga: Chapter 109, 110, 111, first half of 112
Nippon's adaptation: Second half of 1-2, 1-3, first half of 1-4

"Personal responsibilities"?! Of course this excuse is different than the manga and Madhouse's where he said he left it at autopilot.
Locating the copy was more detailed than how it was in the manga. Also notice the difference in Kortopi's hand position on the container. Another side note is the difference in translation of the location. Viz's translation of the manga used the American measurement system which is different than the rest of the world. So, they replaced 2,500 meters to 1.5 mile. (2,500 meters = 1.55 according to
http://www.digitaldutch.com/unitconverter/)

The location on the map is exactly as shown in the manga. Hard to say the same for Nippon's adaptation.

A filler scene in Nippon's adaptation (And Feitan is reading his

Killua asking Senritsu about Kurapika's other colleagues is filler

The explanation of "Estinto" was a side comment in the manga. In the anime Senritsu explains it to Killua.

Another measurements note: Viz replaced meters with yards, but they didn't convert the number. So a 100 meters turned to 100 yards (100 meters = 109.36 yards)

Squalla in Madhouse's adaptation was taking to Eliza on the phone about his job. In the manga he was reading a magazine and thinks for himself. Nippon's adaptation was closer for Squalla, but Madhouse's adaptation was closer for the dog who opened the door. In Nippon's adaptation, the dog was less skilled and took more time to use the door handle (6 seconds), while Mad's dog unlocked the door and used the handle quicker and more skilled (3 seconds).

Kortopi's running animation in this scene was really good. Another change in Viz's translation is replacing 40 kilometer per hours to 25 miles per hour. (40 Km/hr = 24.85 miles/hr)

http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...118_194049.jpg
The chase scene in Nippon's adaptation used speed-lines instead of actual backgrounds like in Madhouse's adaptation. When I think of OVAs, I think of having more budget, more quality, and more time for production and therefore they don't use cheap tricks like these!

YOU SHALL NOT PASS!
Shizuku's and Machi's gyo. In Madhouse's adaptation they used it as soon as they turned around. In the manga and Nippon's adaption they used it following Chrollo's order.

http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...118_173837.png
http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...118_195159.png
More filler scenes in Nippon's adaptation. Senritsu & Killua goes after Gon & Kurapika, and Leoreo tries to get out of the traffic
http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...118_195521.png
Machi's threads were visible in Nippon's adaptation. In Madhouse's they weren't because Machi uses In to not make them visible to the naked eye.
http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...118_200506.jpg
http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...118_200400.png
Gon question's Chrollo. I liked the effects and angles used in Madhouse's adaptation. Chrollo in Nippon's adaptation remained still and was covering his mouth with his hand and therefore we're not sure if he was talking to them or was talking in his head.

But I can't let my highly trained professionally used for all situation dogs get hurt!"
Squalla's death. We don't see the dead body in Madhouse's adaptation, but the sound of the head hitting the car was disturbing! It was good in Nippon's adaptation, except for the white blood (or whatever was that bodily fluid). I thought OVAs do not get censored in terms of violence because they aren't for TV!
http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...nter12_124.png
http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...8_180421-1.png
http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...118_202951.png
Recollection Bullet: Memory Bomb. The people's reactions were not seen or heard in Madhouse's adaptation. The memories in Madhouse's adaptation were short and into the point about Kurapika only (3 seconds). Nippon's adaptation dragged the heck out of it for what was supposed to be an instant moment, but they filled it with not only Kurapika's memories, but with Squalla's memories about Eliza (2 minutes).
http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...nter12_126.png
http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/...118_180834.png

Revenge is coming!
The episode was near-excellent. There were some new soundtracks and I liked them. Squalla's death got toned down, but I expected it. But it was sure sad... we saw Squalla's passion toward Eliza for episodes and how he wanted to have a better life for her, but destiny didn't allow it, and he left behind a woman with a broken heart, and faithful dogs without their kind hearted master thanks to someone else's revenge. It's all Kurapika's fault who dragged everyone to his affairs!
Even though Nippon's adaptation wasn't bad, but the constant drag of events was annoying! I thought OVAs would not add filler because they don't have a weekly schedule and they can cover the manga without stalling. That along with the weird censorship they used and the cheap backgrounds during Chrollo's chase scene.
