That's the picture from the cover of the last combined issue of Jump, in case anybody doesn't know. And yeah, it's pretty good. Glad to see it's getting a little more visibility from being that little picture before among a million heads.
Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2012] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 4
Does anyone have info on the sales of manga and Naruto in particular in the US and France? I mean, just how much do they sell? Because I see that there were only just over 3000 copies sold for Naruto's last volumes through Amazon.
Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2012] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 4
That's the figure I have found for France in 2011 (all type of comic are included, mangas are in light blue)
ventes means sales and tirages means prints
I have found another interesting graph concerning Naruto. That's the sales of all Naruto volumes per year

For US American sales I googled a bit and found this site:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=36900
This guy analysis bookscan reports every year. It is an interesting read.
For those who don’t know. Bookscan is something like the American oricon but unlike oricon it doesn’t have access to all sales but only to a certain percentage. They claim it to be 75%, other sources claim it to be something like 65%.
On comicbookresources you will find the Top 750 lists from 2003-2011
Here is a direct link to 2011:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/im...11-TOP-750.xls
Some guy from Live Journal once took the 2011 list and added around 30% to the sales to make it 100% with only a plus/minus 5% difference.

A few extra infos from the guy who posted this list:
I have included all Pokemon Manga under Pokemon. There are like 5-6 different ones.
I have also included databooks to the represented series and codename sailor to Sailor Moon.
The reason why some series are so high on the list even though they don’t have that many Manga in the Top 100 list is because of strong backdoor sales. Backdoor sales are sales of older Volumes.
Of course it is not 100% accurate but this is the closest there is to “official” sale numbers and the dimension should be correct.

Even if it's probably less than 1€ per book, that's still 300 000 sells a year (not counting older volumes). Of course it's low compare to Japan but a lot of people would like to earn that.
To tie with a blockbuster like XIII is quite an achievement. And yes I think France is the second market (we are also only 60 millions inhabitants) In term of diversity however I think there are more titles available than in US for sure.

Nice TOC. Nisekoi in 9th, hope this doesn't become a trend. I doubt it though.
Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2012] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 4
Assassination Classroom is third which is great, been a while since toriko last took a place in the top 3 so i might catch up again soon. kuroko is still doing great :D
i'm excited about Bleach's color page
Edit : wow gintama is low, why is that ?

My guess? it's because the chapter which is being counted is another "filler" chapter again, which is not really dramatic or funny. It's still safe, I think, since It manages to escape from the bottom 5 position.
Furuichi arc surely gathers some positive votes for Beelzebub, I'm quite satisfied with this week TOC, though I don't want Nisekoi and Haikyuu get a lower rank than last week.
