Well he is wearing the zetsu suit, who told him that he better use him for fighting, because obito is not strong. So obvious this power has to do with his control through the suit. But it seems like he went berserk, going on pure instinct. This is nothing new in naruto or manga's of this kind, just showing that he unlocked some potential, even if it was possible only through the Zetsu suit.

So, was Rin or Kakashi being controlled by chakra strings? Is that what happened? This chapter was a bit hard for me to follow.

Well Kakasi's MS is not really an issue, we never knew how he got it. It's better than the question mark, that we were left with and didn't think would ever be answered. And this is nothing new to naruto, Sasuke was shown to having awakened his Sharigan way back when Itachi/Obito killed the clan, becoming the youngest to awaken it, even before Itachi. So Kakashi having awakened MS, BECAUSE Obito awakened his through Kakashi, is a reasonable phenomena in Naruto. We have NO idea how or why it developed later. We don't know the type of training that Kakashi went through to control it. But we can fill in the gaps, it's reasonable if you consider that we don't know how MS works with non-Uchiha.

I don't like how it implies that Obito DID NOT awaken MS when he "died" though. Why bother mentioning how it seemed like he "slipped away" from the rock if it wasn't to imply that he had awakened his ability via stress of impending death? I had assumed that the trauma of killing Rin awakened it in Kakashi and therefore completed the eye set, but whatever. Obito makes batshit Sauce look like a total bitch now.

Here's hoping Sauce will redeem his tainted character in the future.

maybe like a sasuke thing, remember sasuke supposedly awakened his Sharigan as far back as Itachi's wipe out of the Uchiha clan, but before that flashback, we thought sasuke awakened his Sharingan at fight against Haku.

I'm thinking its because of that, and because Obito was more in control of his anger and rage at that point. He was simply after the Kyuubi and taking out any possible errors that could ruin whatever scheme that was plotted among him and Madara. From the look of things, Obito tried to absorb Minato, mostly a quicker route to deal with the Yellow Flash(Or enemies in general) than trying to pierce him with nightmarish tendrils of wood that he could easily teleport around and evade..

i swear you guys are getting better and better at predicting kishimoto...

kakashi killing rin because of mind control etc etc...

It seems like Kishi went a bit overboard so that he could make Obito more epic and make his transition into Tobi more understandable.

All in all it was a ok chapter, i would have liked it more if i actually cared about this flashback or obito in the least.

In part one he full well knew what the mangekyou sharingan was, and I don't picture kakashi as a person who wouldn't push his capabilities to the limit. I know he said he developed a jutsu during the time skip, but I'm more inclined to think he worked on his chakra reserve.

They already say in this chapter, We are from The bloody mist village! Madara, already planned this far far ahead!

Naruto 605 is such a bloody, violent, rampage, gore, psychotic chapter. And even more bloody? Now we know how Obito became the Tobi we know today.XD
