Crappy art to be honest. And lol @ Rin being alive when Kakashi looks like a teenager... Manga readers will know.

But I really liked the combination between Kakashi and Gai.

I really liked this one. I have to say, I like the way the fillers are being done. The teammwork between Kakashi and Gai was pretty cool as well as the after-math of the bridge battle with Obito.

Kakashi and Gai and Rin even seem a little older, which is odd considering their appearance whe nthe 9 tails attacks. But for me it's a small detail... though the Rin image sticks out because of how she looked in recent manga events.

Either way, good episode IMO.

I think it will do a good deal to support what is currently happening in the manga as far as Kakashi and Gai's great friendship

. And I like that these fillers are more than just flashbacks or rehash's, and evne a little creative with characters they can afford to be creative with (vs. the post-Pain invasion fillers).

Oh, and I also like that Omoi's been getting a little more screen-time too. In the manga he was pretty good in the early parts of the war so I hope he keeps proving to be a formidable opponent and useful ally.

Thought the episode was solid. I couldn't get used to Kakashi and Guys teenager voices. Too girly for my taste to fit them both. Also Rin beeing there was... well no mangaspoilers. Other than that I liked the episode.

I never really thought about it, being part of the 'Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist' and all.
She just looks like a man, even with the hair. Hell what do I know, Haku was a dude wasn't he.

Eh, "swordsman" is just the English translation. Japanese term is Kiri no Shinobigatana Shichinin Shū, which would literally be something along the lines of "Mist's Shinobi Sword Seven-Person Squad."

Anyway, my review of the episode, in short: excellent filler. Kushimaru and Jinpachi are badasses. The animation is good, the combat is good, the swordsmen have cool fighting styles. I especially like the way Kushimaru was handled, as he was easily the coolest looking of the bunch, IMO. Jinpachi's pretty cool, too.

Its interesting on watching the streams and the negative comments about the fillers. Last Years ones were bad it was just when naruto is a kid and fights a villain that looks so plain like some random person to fill in the background in the village lol.
But these fillers have been great because didn't kushi off screen the 7 mist shinobi being sealed? We only got to see the zaibustu fight, so I feel as if these are kinda cannon.
Good episode this was, liked the young Gai lol.

is this one filler or regular?

Would have liked some backstory for jinpachi and kushimaru but this proved a more enjoyable episode than pakura because there was an even battle and we got more depth for gai and kakashi's bond.

Rin was back! Good to see her. I dont think this will contradict thr manga given that the time between team Minato's reunion may have been a year or so. Or maybe a few months. This event could have ocurred in the meantime. But wasnt Kakashi supposed to have two tomoe sharingan?It looked like three.

Yes, you're right, Kakashi's sharingan (incorrectly) has three tomoes. I guess anime staff was drawing him mechanically at this point:^_^

It does appear to be contradictory, at least from a character design standpoint. Kakashi, Gai, and Rin appear quite a bit older than they should, given the way Kakashi and Rin were drawn in recent manga chapters. Considering the anime production schedule, I'd guess that this episode was produced before the big reveal was published in the manga. I think if the anime staff had been aware of that, they'd have maybe tailored the flashbacks to feature Kirigakure shinobi instead of Iwagakure, and maybe tied the storyline into their attempts to capture Rin.

I'd have liked this episode (and the one about Jinin) to have explored the backstory of the Seven Swordsmen rather than the good guys, but at least we're actually getting a chance to see them in action in the anime. Since Suigetsu and Chojuro are still lurking around, Kishimoto might still have some Seven Swordsmen background of his own to reveal, I suppose. If not, we'll eventually get a final databook with character profiles for all seven, I assume.
