Re: Gimp Tutorials Mega Thread.
Like I've posted here:
A very good Tutorial collection and Gimp community with lots of plugins, howtos, forums and so on is Gimp Talk. Check it out, they have amazing Howtos there. Also Gimp Tutorials is pretty good.
Also you can work with Brushes and PS-like stuff in Gimp as well, try out the Gimp Brushes and Gimp Actions section at deviantART.
You can also use PS tutorials and brushes. You just have to rethink a little bit and convert the PS Brushes into Gimp brushes.
Not especially manga-related, but helpful, I think^^

Re: Gimp Tutorials Mega Thread.
Here's my gimp tutorial:
Get Photoshop instead.
I'm not trying to be a troll or an ass or anything, but Photoshop is superior in almost every possible way.
If you don't know how/where to get it, PM me.
If your comp is too slow to run it, let me put it to you this way. Gimp is just about as tough on your computer as Photoshop Cs1 is. Why settle for an inferior program?
Re: Gimp Tutorials Mega Thread.
they look very heavy. is there no easier way?

See, but you do come off as one. As you know, gimp does everything photoshop does. You just don't know how to use it. Also, until a couple of weeks ago. Gimp was impossible to run on *nix systems.
Also, you have the legal issue. As someone who advocates paying for software if it is worth it. I should hope you pay for it.
Re: Gimp Tutorials Mega Thread.
I've been training to be a gimp scanalator... ive found that most font sets made for photoshop seem to work in them, and gimp has equivalents to most of photoshops features.
http://www.unblessed.net/guide/main.html < you can download the font sets from here, just unload them in the gimp fonts folder after unzipping the files and they seem to work
i used them on Rosario Vampire II 6
Re: Gimp Tutorials Mega Thread.

Re: Gimp Tutorials Mega Thread.
one of the most used features that keep me in photoshop is me using the rectangle tool, copying something going Ctrl + n then ctrl + v to fill in that area (or I use the ctrl + n to get the dimensions of that area) is there a function I'm missing in gimp that does that too?
