The Haikyuu!! special project mentioned last week is an official 4koma spinoff series drawn by Retsu (mangaka of that short-lived Jump series Pakky from a few years ago). This week's chapter has...

I can't speak for TWB yet (though I generally don't like sports series), but my favorite of the new batch thus far has been iShoujo. I'm rooting for it to be a keeper, but at this point, there's no...

Oh god, a (sort of) novel adaptation of that "Magical Cabbage" foodgasm from a bunch of chapters ago. Looks like it's part of the recent Soma novel (so, it's probably a bunch of short story things,...

What you have to remember (and what no one here has pointed out yet) is that libraries are, in essence, part of a bygone era. It's sad, but unfortunately true. When I was a kid, the internet as it is...

A lot of the official manga series' twitter accounts do that, though. I've seen the HQ and AC accounts retweet each other, WT and Soma...

This only started yesterday, but nothing happens when I click the Like/Thank buttons. I've tried it on several threads in various subforums, but still nothing.

This phrase has been driving me nuts, mainly because I keep finding lots of Japanese sites that use the first half, but none with any semblance of an explanation as to its meaning.

Yup, HQ had two oneshots. And come to think of it, AK is a pretty weird exception to the rule. o_O; I wonder if there was a oneshot at one point, but it just never saw the light of day.

To be honest, I stopped reading both Bakuman and Death Note partway through, because they no longer kept my attention. I think it's largely due to the same reasons others have already mentioned...

A flash anime on Jump Live for the series that just started this issue? Well, that escalated quickly... o_O;
October 05, 2013 11:25 AM
It's not quite a crossover as we'd consider it. It's basically two collaborative illustrations, volumes 1-5 of Kuroko/volume 1 of AC offered online for...

Casanova (the group scanlating Soma) is planning to release the chapter on the 6th, along with a bunch of others, to celebrate the group's anniversary, if I remember right.
As for Soul...

The results for the 1st character popularity contest were in chapter 57. This must be a new one.
February 14, 2013 01:33 PM
Saiki's already gotten a vomic, actually (so has Haikyuu!!, if that's what you were referencing). Though I guess it could be another chapter, if they're going that route. Maybe a web/flash anime......

Just for reference's sake,
Itona's surname, "Horibe", matches the name of a couple of the 47 ronin. I guess that means he'll likely end up friendified, but we probably all expected that anyway.

I actually looked it up when I first read the chapter, and
Evidently, you can. It depends on which rules the competition is using, but junior high/high school rules allow the ball to hit your foot...

It's evidently an allusion to the old comic strip Sazae-san, according to the Japanese fanblogs. The titular character's maiden name is Isono, so that's probably where the "Korono" bit comes in.
February 06, 2013 01:43 PM
I think the second is 間 (あいだ), but only from context and because the first character of the yomigana looks like either あ or お. 体 actually seems like it would fit for the first one, too.

I can't make out the first two kanji in the image. ? の ? に球が入る
January 29, 2013 01:43 PM
Well, actually, there's no guarantee that's true. He could be another result of whatever turned Korosensei into an octopus monster (hence, a "brother" in some respects - he only says "nii-san", so...

Concerning the "2 of each" line: if I remember right, the word used in the Japanese was 手足 (teashi), which can be translated as either "limbs" or "one's hands and feet", and the counter used, 本...

No, no, I'm really appreciative of the feedback! Evidently, I'd mistyped 誘拐犯 (yuukaihan) as 愉快犯 (yukaihan) and didn't even notice (usually I'm able to catch blunders like that... ack). As for 背後, I...

Ehh?? Please please let me know if/where my translations need work! I'm nowhere near fluent, so I'm always glad when people point out mistakes/mistranslations/etc.
December 23, 2012 10:51 AM
Aaaactually... it's not a matter of translation choice at all. The word used is ビッチ, which is "bitch" written in katakana.
December 07, 2012 12:33 AM
23 is the most current chapter in Japan. Last week's translation took me a bit longer than usual, mostly due to RL craziness.
November 21, 2012 01:04 PM
The scanlation is still ongoing, but you have to realize that Saiki has more text in a single chapter than most others have in 2-3 chapters. I'm one of the people translating it, so I can speak from...
