Promotion for the HxH movie on the cover, yet no news for the manga's return? Boo.
January 05, 2013 12:27 AM
I'm pretty sure he thought he might be "halfway done" when he was doing Alabasta. :P It will definitely go on for a while to say the least.
December 22, 2012 08:34 PM
The last DB chapter was full color.
December 02, 2012 10:13 PM
Shouldn't there be a new thread by now?
November 21, 2012 12:40 AM
Yeah, I had a mini heart attack myself until my eyes were able to take in the whole announcement. :P As always, I am super excited about new HxH material. New one shot, new movie, new volumes,...
February 23, 2012 12:26 AM
I actually think that's a good sign that the chapter drawings are not perfect. He hasn't drawn like that since early '06 before the 20 month hiatus. He'd always fix the drawings for the volume...

Kochikame made its debut in 1976 in Issue 42. There were 10 chapters that year since there were only 52 issues w/ 48-49 being a double issue. Below are how many issues there were in each subsequent...
February 21, 2012 01:18 AM
I actually counted using information from http://www.biwa.ne.jp/~starman/index.htm and then cross referenced the information with the chapter titles from the tanks and wsj issues from 2010/2011. I've...
February 20, 2012 09:55 PM
Kochikame is on 1732 (assuming both chapters in Issue 51 of 2011 were normal chapters), Naruto is on 574, Gintama is on 389, and Inumaru is on 166. Other than those everything else looks good. :)
February 12, 2012 02:06 AM
One Piece, Bleach, and Naruto I don't mind so much since they are in Shonen Jump Alpha (4 chapters behind isn't all that bad). Claymore, HxH, and D. Grey are not all that behind with volume releases,...
December 26, 2011 01:59 PM
A new Embalming chapter after 486 days and HxH NOT going on hiatus? Merry Christmas indeed! :D
December 16, 2011 04:14 PM
Rats...I misread that too.... :(
December 08, 2011 12:14 AM
Psyren and Muhyo & Roji would be fun to see animated. It would also be nice to see some later arcs of certain mangas get animated (Jinchu arc of Kenshin and the rest of Neuro for instance). As for...
November 26, 2011 04:41 PM
Ah, that makes sense. I thought that there were other instances where there were only 51 Issues in a year, but I just checked and it looks like there has been at least 52 issues a year since 1970....
November 26, 2011 03:23 PM
Huh...didn't realize that Issue 1 was next week. When was the last time we only had 51 issues?
November 25, 2011 03:40 PM
I think we can both agree that this is not an exact science. You can pull a bunch of different examples of series that ended from all sorts of situations, but that doesn't mean the same thing will...
November 25, 2011 03:18 PM
Do you remember Bokke-san? It was promoted right before the end as well. I'll agree with you that it's not over yet, but I doubt anyone will really be shocked to see it go. Being excluded from Jump...
November 25, 2011 02:29 PM
It does feel like a bad omen. I actually like Harisugawa better than all the other 2011 new series, so I will definitely be bummed if it's canceled. :/
November 25, 2011 03:30 AM
Yes. I don't think it impacts the data as much as you are claiming. Since this is just us going back and forth we should probably take this to PMs from here...didn't realize how many posts we have...
November 25, 2011 03:14 AM
Yeah...that's why I said, "If we just remove series that did not last the whole year then the year summary data would be very similar to this website's approach to calculating averages." :P
November 25, 2011 03:06 AM
You do realize that a larger sample size leads to more accurate results right?
November 25, 2011 02:54 AM
Thanks for the link. :) It is nice to see that they only use a sample of 10 chapters, but it still runs into the absences problem (One Piece is an average of 8 scores compared to HxH's 10 scores for...
November 25, 2011 02:36 AM
I was going to do something similar once Issue 52's data was out lol. Did you do all the calculations by hand? I have an excel sheet with all the data of series rankings from 2010 and 2011 with...
November 23, 2011 02:29 AM
True, but your original post did not specify that you were referring to series that received a 'natural' ending. I just assumed you were talking about established series. Shaman King was canceled yet...
November 23, 2011 01:12 AM
Psyren ended at the end of 2010 which made its run exactly 3 years. No small feat by jump standards.
November 22, 2011 03:18 PM
So then wouldn't Kochikame be 1st and 10th based on this page?
September 27, 2011 10:03 PM
Not if your statement is this...
September 27, 2011 09:32 PM
Reborn! does not have an anime atm. Still a lot that do though. :) I'll have to check out Kuroko no Basket when it comes out.
September 20, 2011 09:23 PM
I'm not sure what constitutes a Lead Color Page, but HxH has had Cover & Color for the following issues after 2005:
2006 Issue #45
2008 Issue #14
2008 Issue #45
It also got cover (but no...
February 24, 2011 02:51 AM
Sigh...not it DOESN'T get weird with double issues as chapters are ranked based on 8 CHAPTERS not WEEKS. It makes ZERO SENSE to rank chapters by weeks for THIS VERY REASON.
Sorry for all the caps,...
February 24, 2011 12:41 AM
As I understood it from trends among other conversations and observations the counting is inclusive, so in your scenario chapter 100 would be ranked according to chapter 93's results.
