Since this thread started, DAQ has been dropped from Storm in Heaven, who says that it's been picked up by another group. Anyone know where I can find this group?

Yes, but not much that TokyoPop hasn't done already; all I've seen (online, at least) are the first two volumes of the New Kindaichi restart.
I really want to know what'll happen, and what CAN...

I take it the way Marvel and DC treat their history: it takes place "now," no matter when "now" was before. So the events of issue 4 took place five years ago, even if issue 4 itself was printed...

Yeah, I've been looking for the bilingual editions, but I haven't found any yet. How far in do they go? I assume all the way through the series, since I know they've done really recent stories in...

I'm hoping that since I resurrected once, I can do it again.
I recently discovered a place I could purchase Kindaichi in Japanese. However, I don't have a scanner. Would there be any value to...

The pacing does seem really strange. It just never sat right to me that there was so little in between this game and the last. Either the creators are eager to get things over with or there's...
September 05, 2008 04:58 PM
From what I've read in the main forum, there were very few, if any, chapters between the Dinosaurs game and the Christmas Bowl. This strikes me as very odd. There was, and is, a LOT of potential...
February 23, 2008 09:16 PM
It's hard to know how to feel about it. On one hand, it's a shame that another outlet for the series never took off, and that it might (MIGHT) affect how the manga is treated (both here and in...

Heh, gotta love some of those character file levels.
Guess which (different) characters those two stats were attached to! :D
February 11, 2008 01:09 AM
A recent one:
... when you watch wrap ups of the Super Bowl and think, "Y'know, if Tom Brady had been defended by the Devil Bats offensive line, they would've won easy."
January 13, 2008 06:44 PM
You see a blurb on ESPN.com saying the Seahawks will never get anywhere in the playoffs until they get a good tight end, and you think, "Well, why don't they just get Taki?"
You see a photo of...

I wonder what Ishimaru would prefer: being in the margin like on the book jacket, or having his face covered up by Taki like in the anime version. :D
December 28, 2007 09:23 PM
Os.Hoshi: Thanks - I was starting to get depressed myself!
One possible way to look at it: the number of people this is likely to turn off to the series who might've otherwise given it a chance is...

Well, it's most crappy to those who ALREADY KNOW the story/manga/anime. To complete newbies, who don't know better, it may be intriguing enough to check out, which is what the quoted poster was...

Hee, and the Dragon Quest slime was hanging out there too! Such good taste!
December 17, 2007 07:09 PM
True, but this PARTICULAR website is a free cartoon-viewing site run by a major cable network. Obviously, it's going to be played conservatively. That's what I was trying to say.
And yeah, it's...
December 17, 2007 06:35 PM
What a shame. (Full disclosure: I have not judged the dub for myself; I have a Mac, and thus am not supported on Toonami Jetstream. I had a chance at a library, but saw these posts, and chickened...
December 14, 2007 08:50 PM
According to this link posted on the LJ community, the ES21 dub will debut on Toonami on Monday! I obviously think an English dub demands a separate thread.
Hope they got a crackerjack cast,...

Now part two: what are the differences in the other options I mentioned in this question? To refresh your memory:
December 10, 2007 07:12 AM
Wow, the thread actually took off! Thanks, Sorata!
Anyway, here's the answer to the original question: the team ended up first in front of the BELLAGIO (with the famous fountains) and stayed at...

Okay, I'm sorry, I just have to ask: where did you find Hiruma winning the Super Bowl? (Or at least the Vince Lombardi Trophy?)
November 29, 2007 01:26 AM
True. Just pointing out that he's willing to bend rules that aren't directly related to plays on the field to suit his purposes. :D
November 29, 2007 12:19 AM
True, but that's just talking about the game itself (as well it should, or the football games would be a lot less interesting). The rule dealing with seniors is a SCHOOL rule, and deals with ALL...
November 28, 2007 08:53 PM
I have a question: the majority of people who post to this forum (on this title, not just this subforum) seem to think that the Devil Bat founders will quietly move on and not participate in football...
November 19, 2007 01:37 AM
OK, I just saw the episode during the Cream Puff Cup where the Ha-Ha Brothers met those kiddie Texan counterparts of theirs (a commenter on crunchyroll.com, where I saw it, called 'em the Wow-Wow...

As a mega-fan, I thought I'd open up this thread.
This is a great series. It's my favorite genre, and favorite category in that genre (locked room mysteries). I like to think I'm even...
November 15, 2007 11:22 PM
True enough. And you've inspired an important question: how CONSISTENT has the title's success been? It was made into an anime relatively quickly after its first publication, but that's all I know...
November 15, 2007 07:48 PM
Data point: According to the Livejournal community, the latest sales numbers for the manga volume with the Ojo game puts it at #3 overall (previous week[?] was #5), giving the same company the top...
November 13, 2007 09:12 PM
Oh, yes, and the main ES21 community on Livejournal has pictures from the closing.
Highlights include blatant pandering to those who...
November 13, 2007 03:17 AM
PS: New opening/ending themes - natural, now that they've moved beyong the Shinryuuji game. Seen the only the opening on YouTube - very different style of song, not my cup of tea. The group shot at...
November 11, 2007 09:13 PM
You may be right, but you should be glad for this. If there were a "second season," this is where all the drama and suspense would come from (not to mention the opportunity for any new characters).
November 11, 2007 08:19 PM
Well, I was talking about this particular title, mostly, which obviously HAS made it out of its country of origin. :P
Though you are right, to my painful knowledge, considering how much Japan...
November 11, 2007 03:52 AM
Look at it this way: all signs seem to be (if I see things right) that the title is doing great in Japan. Isn't that the main thing that matters? As long as it's doing well in the country in which...
