I don't read One Piece, but based on the JP page, the translation you have is not entirely wrong. You just have to add "..." and read it as a joke. This "..." is like *sigh*

Your " aokiji is the strongest man in HQ" is devided into 2 bubbles in JP: [bottom right koma- righ bubble] the strongest force of "Marine HP" + [left bubble] "Leader/Boss (Admiral or whatever fits)" Aokiji...

Wish I can help but the text is too tiny for me to see (even with my glasses on). Somebody else might be able to read it?
If you love Hyouka (or the Kotenbu light novel series), you should totally try stopping by HSK.

Hi guys, I found the missing page of the first manga ever, Shin takarajima (you can find it on several readers/sites, but it misses page 118). It missed a page so I had to download the Japanese version, and now I need someone to translate the 3 ballons in it. These are the three sentences, I hope someone will help to complete the most important manga of all time. This is a piece of history:

    コロコロと岩ばかりで高い木などありゃしねえ
    そんな地図なぞアテになるものか
    オッ! あるぞあるぞ高い木が

It's a pirate searching for a treasure with a map, the map says something about a tree.

There's no way there'd be a tall tree with nothing but rocks on the ground.
Can you rely on something like that map?
Oh! There it is, there it is, the tall tree.

There is an intense drive that blows the audience away in the second half of Gurren Lagann, where a point of interest lies in the scale of the Gurren Lagaan series. If the Lagann is about 1 metre in size, then the Gurren Lagann is about 5 metres etc., the estimations are illustrated below. However, the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is a materialisation of thoughts, and hence its magnitude cannot be calculated (to be precise, it does not exist in the physical world.) Do take this as a rough guide: comparing the Gurren Lagann at the beginning and the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, their difference in magnitude is 10^25 fold, which is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 fold* (in terms of 'Gurren Lagann,' that is 10 quadrillion** fold.) You may say, its size is beyond imagination.

    Caption:
The Arc-Gurren Lagann breaking out*** from the Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann is one of the most enthralling scenes.

    SCALE SIZE
    Gurren Lagann --- Human
    Arc-Gurren Lagann --- Tokyo
Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann --- Moon
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann --- Galaxy

    * 10^25 should be 1 with 25 zeros to follow. There are only 24 zeros when the article writes the number. Probably a typo (i.e. missing a zero,) because 10禾予 in the parentheses is 1 with 25 zeros following.
** Depending on where you live, 1 quadrillion has either 24 or 15 zeros. I use 1 quadrillion = 1 with 24 zeros to follow.
*** Or words to that effect. I have yet to see TTGL, so I'm not sure of the exact action here.

making some corrections in English and I got this one line thats giving me a little trouble not sure how to word it

    つ-かあんた、 今までそんな事知らないでここにいたのね。

Translation I received: that's typical for you being here up to know without knowing anything about that stuff

The context is him being clueless so I think the gist of it would be "how typical of you not to know anything." like he's out of the loop but just to make sure im not leaving something out someone mine re translating that line please and thanks

    つ-かあんた、 今までそんな事知らないでここにいたのね。
"Well, you didn't even know that stuff until now, even though you were here (the whole time)."
"Well, you've been here (the whole time) and you didn't even know that stuff until now"

It seems to be said as an explanation to him asking "why didn't I know?".

The original translation is not so bad , but JP txt doesn't say anything about "that's typical of you," so change that to "you" + correct the typo.

"that's typical for you being here up to know" ---> So, you've been here
"up to know" ---> That's a typo. The translator meant "now" not "know"
"without knowing anything about" --> fine
"that stuff " ---> fine, or simply "it"

OFF TOPIC: Need help translating kanji

Sorry for posting this here but I don't know of any better place to ask for.

Can somebody read and translate the kanji written on the plate hanging around the old man's neck?

    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwuH...LXc/edit?pli=1

    Thanks

Re: OFF TOPIC: Need help translating kanji

The reading of those kanji is the name of your file (Gouma or Kouma). I suppose it's a name that should be read phonetically, but going by the meanings of kanji, it's something like "eternal demon".
