I've heard a bit about it, but mostly about how different generals had turned down the position. I didn't expect anyone to actually accept the title that Bush offered.Quote:
To be honest, it sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me. I think that the Bush administration is only doing this to have a scapegoat to blame all of their future(and some past) fuck ups on.
"War Czar" i thought that was a joke the first time i heard it, whoever decided to name an American governmental position after a position in a royal dictatorship is a moron.
Bush is just trying to shift responsibility for his many idiotic mistakes. I suspect this move will drop his popularity rating even lower than it is now (it will be in negative numbers pretty soon).
The funny thing is it's all for nothing, because the position is subject to congressional confirmation, meaning congress has to vote on whoever Bush chooses in order for them take the job. Since congress is about as happy with Bush as the American people are Lt. Gen. Lute is going to get hammered with war criticisms and in all likelihood rejected.
Wow, War Czar. That definitely doesn't sound like dictatorship foreshadowing.
