Anyone up to date with gintama' right now?
The latest episode was part of the "thorny arc" or what it was called and it was getting really good(another serious arc). Damn, Hijikata looks like a beast.
I can't wait to see what nobune would do(she's really pretty, so I hope she joins the cast). I heard that this arc wasn't scanlated so I think many people would be checking it out.
hoping to see what gintoki will do.
Imagine Gintamas serious arcs were all there is to. It would rape the top 3 shounen for good but I like Gintama the way it is so no ranting.
I'm still back at 243 because I have way to much to watch... (Neraly 2 Episodes per day...) and somedays I can't watch anything... Oh the pain...
Whatever... I have to catch up... =/
I'm like 2 or 3 episodes back, I think. I'll probably catch up tonight. It's awesome to hear that a serious arc is up ahead though, not that Gintama could be anything other than awesome.

All caught up now. Hijikata is not my favorite character in the world but this is really good. I also can't wait to see how Gintoki plays into this fiasco. You just know that whatever he does it's going to be great.
As far as I'm concerned Gintama is already better than both Naruto and Bleach. One Piece pretty much ties it, but at the same time it's very different. One Piece is kinda the ultimate lighthearted Shounen action comedy. It follows the conventional shounen manga rules.
Gintama throws the rule book right out the window. It does a hundred things that shounen manga's aren't supposed to do while often poking fun at genre for being afraid to do them. I almost can't believe it actually works.... but it does, and spectacularly.
While Gintama may not be selling more than naruto, it certainly is selling more than Bleach.
It is one of the most popular series in japan, seeing how it is 8th in sales. The anime is also one of japan's favorite. So I won't worry about whether the lack of serious arcs will affect this or that,
tbh serious arcs should only come once in a while, that's the only way I see them as epic
I was expecting more of Hijikata's past tbh, I mean it was good, but I just felt that it could be better.Quote:
Gintoki being there, whatever he is doing whether epic/comedy, is gonna be good.
Kintama is coming next week
Gintama being Gintama the ending is probably just a parody and I would bet for a hiatus. They will probably restart it in a TBD date when they have more manga material.
Tehy... In the 201, they said "thank you" and other think. I thought it was over, but they started it again. I hope it's a new hiatus.
Knowing gintama, I won't take that news seriously.
For those who want to know:
Another hiatus... I'll miss gintama T_T. They said they'll come back again and they probably have already animated the kintama arc. I just hope that won't last forever.

...Don't know if it's just me, but...now that I rethink over it, cutting into hiatus right before the Kintama Arc is actually the best timing. It's much easier to play some joke if they ever come back through the Kintama Arc, just like how they did with the 2 years later thing when they resumed the second season. I was thinking as well, of why they did those short stories of the Christmas present, the Otoshidama and the Black Hole Kotatsu, before the Kintama Arc, since it'll defeat the very purpose for Kintoki's appearance to begin with (since he came along due to the fact that Shinpachi and Kagura were left out throughout the Barakagi Arc, so they went ahead and make themselves a new "Gin-san", wasn't it?). Now that I rethink of it, and now that they announce the ending/hiatus in this episode without going into the Kintama Arc at all, I can only see it as that they'll make "Gintoki came back to the Yorozuya after the long hiatus just to find a new "Gintoki" (Kintoki), replacing him as the head of the Yorozuya and the protagonist of the story". Then it kinda makes sense, if you ask me, that they'll make it like that.
Any opinion? .-.
