Thanks a lot for tutorial Shinwei it was very useful.

Still got a question about the thing with the edges...

    Quote Quote:
Note that some panels are located at the edge of the page. You don't want to stroke the edge of the page, so when you use your polygonal lasso tool, make sure you extend your selection "off the page" by clicking outside of the document. Don't use the marquee tool for square frames either, that'll stroke the edge of the page as well. Refer to the second image to the right for details.
Well for me the clicking outside of the document part isnt working... If I do it like that it will still select just the document area not go further into the grey non document part. Is that a matter of options somewhere in the menu or did I something wrong? Fnucks cleaning test got something like that too and my method was to extend to page by 1-2 cm every so that the eyes are far away from the main document and after making the new boxes I just shrunk the image to its original size and had no edges...just wanna know if there is a faster way

Alternatively, you can stroke the edge of the page, and then:
    Select --> Modify --> Contract

Contract by however many pixels you stroked by, and then hit OK.

    Now hit delete.

    Voila.

Not sure if this question has been asked/answered.
When am I supposed to resize an image?
Is it before I do anything or after I've done everything?
    Does it matter at all?

Always resize before typesetting but after cleaning. You don't want to resize when type layers are already out there, because then it'll give your text funny text size numbers and you'll have to redo it.

This is great help, it's just so much work it's mind boggling.

Now I know why no one complains about MQ scans .

This is so much work for HQ! .

I suppose I'll have to do it once on one of my releases and just see how the audiences reaction goes :P.

Although, the scans I get are usually very clean and well cut ...not much redrawing...But now I'm just babling .

Well the images in this tutorial were down for awhile. I am sorry about that. I asked Shinwei if he still had the images and could pass them on to me so I could host them since this is a valuable resource here at MH. He granted my request and sent me the images so I have fixed the links and all the images should be showing now as well the the ability to get the gris pattern from the link in this tutorial. So back to more learning from Shinwei's tutorial yay team!

Wow, when scanlating do you actually have to REDRAW the whole manga? Or do you scan it on your computer and edit it?
