It's coz he's pretty young. and stressed all the time, so hair doesn't grow much, lol. or that his face has scarred too much hair can't grow.
Now, even say... Canute from Vinland Saga had an androgynous face at some point but I wouldn't consider him a bishounen either.
Anyone here read Nana?
from the characters there, I think only Nobu and Shin could be considered bishounen. Ren and Takumi are too... manly, perhaps? Or would you disagree?

Canute definitly was a bishonen, it was really funny how the vikings themselves were joking about it
Two scenes where this is mentioned:

Um, I consider Canute a bishonen. *shifty eyes* He's clearly shown to be attractive in the series so... yeah. XD
Agata Soujiro (SKET DANCE)
Another SKET character except he's introduced in a chapter that's not scanlated yet.
Alucard (Hellsing): I find him attractive in a diabolical sense. This may or may not be as creepy as Edward fangirls.
Akiyama Shinichi (Liar Game)
Akai Shuichi (Detective Conan)

I was quite surprised when you mentioned a character from Detective Conan. Clearly I didn't reach up to volume 29, lol. I only watched some two seasons of the anime, so I didn't quite grasp that there would be a bishounen from that manga ever. The early chapters all had kids in it and the scientist. ^^
I'll say Griffith from Berserk really gave me the wrong image of men.
He seemed like the perfect man at first, but later on the things he does is unimaginable.
Hmm, it is said that the prominent feminine features of the character, a.k.a. bishounen, are usually balanced off with hero characteristics such as special abilities (martial arts, athleticism, etc.) or badboy attitude, or some comedic flair.
Which of the characters you've encountered do not have these characteristics? In short, just... useless pretty boy?
I'd say the twins in Ouran High Host Club have no redeeming factor. They're neither athletic, good in martial arts, or the smart ones in the group. And the comedy factor is not them either. :/ They're just... decoration. -_-
Do you guys know any more that are useless pretty boys?
Unfortunately it seems that there are more useless pretty girls than there are boys.
Well..manga gave us a wrong idea of girls too
Do you guys think Gintoki Sakata is bishounen ?
When he was voted #1 as the anime character one wants as a groom? Of course.Quote:
Nice one on the Hotohori thought, Asarii. And I agree. He's pretty useless.
Gintoki is by popular demand a bishounen, but I think it's ironic because he is portrayed as er... uncouth, and his looks are always being made fun of by the characters.
Hibari is not the type to fall in love at all so I don't quite understand why he was chosen. He actually voted #1 in previous years as well as Mukuro (!) and Chrome for the bride category.
Ah, yes. KHR definitely gave us a wrong image of men. Almost all the characters -even the girls- are drawn attractive.
There's just too many bishies around! @_@ My favourites would be: Kurosaki Ichigo (ultimate bias), Kururugi Suzaku, Lelouch Lamperouge and many, many more which I cannot remember off the top of my head at the moment :x Point is, there have been many bishounen that I have set my eyes on XD
