I not read much Shoujo be cause it is for girls!!! But I read Kaichou wa Maid-sama! and Suki-tte Ii na yo. Very good mangas
I tried He-man too but its not Shoujo!!! Just joking do not be mad!!!
Anyone reading manga drawn by TONO?
Right now I reading Karubania monogatari and Coral, both written by her.
Is there any good magic girl manga that shoujo? I like magic girl.
Anyone loves to read josei? I'm thinking to read some short josei series (short being 2-3 volumes). Anyone can suggest me some titles? I haven't read too many josei, and would love to know more about it. What makes josei interesting to me is that it usually has some slice of life element in it. It might not be as cheesy as shoujo (lol) but it can still conveys great messages to the readers.
What about you? :3
I love reading josei. Because it's less whiny, and less diva-ish than shoujo. ehehehe. There's the element of reality there somewhere, like jobs and the mundane things in life.
I tried suggesting short titles though but I realized they were all seinen
One very good series I really loved, not too short but just 8 volumes anyway, is Kimi Wa Petto. As an extra tidbit, besides it being made into a hit Jdrama, Korea is picking it up as a drama this year too. So maybe you might wanna check that out. ^^
Still, even if shoujo series can be about self-centered girls, sometimes I'm just really in the mood for shoujo because it doesn't require me to think too much. And I like the giddy, waffy feeling sometimes. All about crushes and youth and first loves.
Yeah. Reading one cute shoujo or lively josei after reading some fantasy, adventure, magical series is such a great refreshing for me. XD I found myself back to fan-girling mode over handsome boys or cute girls and the cheesy love story it may have.
I thought Kimi wa Petto has a K-drama already? XD Eight volumes might be a bit too much for me at the moment (still reading Skip Beat! with that many volumes and chapters) but thanks for the suggestion!
Any shoujo or josei series you're following now, baboysai?
This is the list I'm following now:
Bride of the Water God (Manhwa)
Parfait Tic - I think this is already finished but the scans aren't all out yet. *cough cough*
Boyfriend - is also an old shoujo series (that won an award, FYI) in the eighties but groups scanlating this always drop after a chapter for some reason. Here's to hoping another group will continue it... *crosses fingers*
NANA - in the hopes that the mangaka will still finish this project
Girl in Heels (Manwha) - I hope the scanlator group doesn't drop this. There have been no chapters out for quite a while now.
Watashi no Megane-kun - another old series that I'm hoping someone will pick up after the very few chapters that have been scanlated
Sukitte ii na yo
Kimi ni Todoke
Nodame Cantabile Opera Hen
Kuragehime - hmm, the scans seemed to have stalled for this series as well. I wonder what happened...
Ran to Haiiro no Sekai
Uwasa no Midori Kun
Watashi ni XX Shinasai
You read a lot.
Bride of the Water God is very slow. I don't even wanna know the next sadness I have to see. =___= I thought Nodame's manga is already finished? I might be wrong.
Seems like groups working on shoujo is rather busy, eh? They either release very slow or eventually drop a series. It's sad because there are many interesting series. Sometimes I wonder what happened.
Well, as far as I know, I don't think there are any weekly releases of any shoujo or josei out there. They're out monthly. And most groups have a TON of projects. And then, less popular series get dropped, sadly.
Nodame Cantabile is already finished, but I think the Opera Hen is still on-going? It's an extension. Besides, there are still a lot of loose ends to knot, i believe.
I do read a lot, lol. That list just shows the shoujo/josei that I'm following. Not including the ones I'd dropped or already finished reading, plus titles from other demographics.
But I'm just average, I think. Wait till you see other people's reading lists, like eni and Kaiten. hehe.
Yeah, that seems to be the case. It's sad to see the speed; especially when I am so pumped with curiosity and eagerness to read and know more now. XD I've just finished reading Skip Beat! up to the latest chapter. :P LOL, my reading list is even smaller than yours. Not that I can remember any series I read after all. XDDD
By the way, found quite an interesting series today >> http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=12809 << Unfortunately it seems that the scanlation is somehow not moving on, which is sad. The story seems pretty good, especially that it's tragedy (lol), and that it was brought light but fun.

hmm... so far I can only find 2 chapters for that, phio. did you read any beyond that?
Yep, that's the sad problem. I tried researching but ended up finding two chapters only. It was actually interesting, especially because the girl is somehow shy outside but only when the boy is around that she could be herself... And so is the boy, he learned something new as he stays around her. I truly wish next chapters would come faster. >__<
