I'm studying (or rather, er, avoiding studying) at Kyoto University for a year as part of my degree in Linguistics and Japanese Studies back in England.

    Re: The cnet128 Thread

That depends largely on whether I manage to avoid failing my degree (a serious concern right now ><), but I know what I'd like to do is enroll in the JET Programme and teach English in Japan for a while. Lord knows it would have to be more satisfying than studying ~_~ (Not that I'm not enjoying my time in Japan right now, but... I just can't stand the work that studying for a degree involves. It kills me, it really does. Even if I do avoid doing it wherever possible ><)

    Re: The cnet128 Thread

As I say, I really don't need any more additions to my weekly workload right now. Maybe if I see a new monthly series that really catches my eye, but a new weekly series is rather unlikely.

Hey! It's me again x'D Lol. I wanted to ask you if you could translate something (at the top). It's veryyyyy short, I think. And I hope you can read it. If not, then I'll just wait until a better scan comes out. I'd be so very thankful.

Just take as much time as you want to.

Can you translate the text here? (Not the "GANTZ", of course...)

Hey carlos, first off a big thanks for all the translations you do, really appreciated .

Just wanted to reccomend a new series to you http://mangahelpers.com/m/flags not only as a suggestion of something good to read, but also in the hope that you'll decide to translate it. No disrespect to the current translator, but the english sentence construction is very poor in the one chapter that has been translated so far.

    Subordinate: Xanxus-sama~~!!
    Xanxus: ...Shaddup.
Subordinate: Your [can't read small text] room? What are you doing... Aaagh! The Ligre Tempesta di Cieli!!
    GAHHH!!
    Xanxus: What do you want.
Subordinate: Well, Tactical Chief Squalo is holding a meeting, so I was told to summon you...
Xanxus: Tell that shark-scum to get his own ass over here. There's a technique I want to try out.
    Subordinate: (Here they go again...)

    Re: The cnet128 Thread

You want your readers to correct you when you made a mistake, right? :-D

It's Ligre Tempesta di Cielo, since the last letter of a singular noun is almost always the "o". The "i" makes "Cielo" to heavens, but it's supposed to be heaven.
    Thank you soooooooo much!

Also, I'm kind of scared of asking you one more time to translate another text. This time it's longer, and the quality is a bit crappy, I guess. Well, maybe you can read it or not.

    Spoiler show

Perhaps it's better to read because it's quite big.

Anyway! You are really nice! If I asked other people to do something like that, then they would most likely don't do it.

Btw, is Daisy really female? Or did you have to guess?

Well, I was vaguely aware that "Cielo" is probably more correct, but "Cieli" is what it actually says, so eh.

Hm, good point. That didn't occur to me. I was just assuming based on the name, but now you mention it, Daisy does look more male than female. *edits translation for gender-neutrality*

A Super-Rare Box Weapon combining the features of the Sky-element Leone di Cieli and the Storm-element Tigre Tempesta. However, it seems that it is originally the Box of a "White Leone di Cieli", and the "Ligre Tempesta di Cieli" is a variant form resulting from the multiple-element flames that Xanxus can inject into the Box thanks to his special constitution. Like the Leone di Cieli, its abilities are still largely unknown. Xanxus calls him "Vester".

Oh :-O Then "Cieli" must be correct!

I once read that Vester and Bester are both possible translations. So, did you just choose the name that fits best? And is that rather a male or a female name?

    Re: The cnet128 Thread

I just chose "Vester" because "Bester" sounds stupid. ~~ So does "Vester", actually, but not to nearly the same extent. Either is a possible romanisation of the name.

And it's not a real name at all, but I think it sounds more masculine than feminine if anything ~~

How long have you been learning Japanese? Because I wanna know how long will it take me to translate as good as you...

And also, how can you recognise kanjis in small raws? (I mean, for example, that tiny DGM raw, you know...)
Currently translating Raruto, a Spanish parody of Naruto (getting ready for the last two chapters, to be released in English in October and November). Check it out here!

Also working on another project that you might get to see in January...
