Rasengan is an all round move, while Chidori isnt. Can be used in many instances like when naruto used it underwater in the anime. Also remember that it has 3 stages to actually do it properly. The next thing is that rasengan can be done quickly in battle once mastered and not countered that easily, while chidori requires hand seals meaning it would need more time to execute, that why its usually done at a distance and the user rushes in.
Look at it this way, if u are running very fast it not that easy to slow down is it. So if u saw someone and charged towards them and someone came from the side to attack u, u wouldnt be able to counter easily.

Going to repeat myself now,
Rasengan, easier to execute than chidori
Rasengan, more versatile than chidori

I believe he only said that to get Naruto to come along... but the strenght should depend on the user, and the amount of chakra gathered in the Rasengan. Naruto and Sasuke clashed both attacks into eachother and there didn't come out a winner, right? Well... Naruto was down, so you could say Sasuke won that, but... Whatever...

rasengan's power looks like can be upgraded like oodema rasengan but chidori?? chidori pierces anything we know and i doubt if rasengan can pierces all things like sand shield of gaara (i think rasengan can just open an area in that shield but not harm gaara cause its effect will be on sand only) so if we think as an assain move, chidori is better but in general i prefer rasengan...

I think Jiraya may know how to do the technique but not be able to actually perform it (this makes it so Naruto can learn it) mostly because if a Yondiame A rank jutsu is so hard that only 3 people even have been able to do it im pretty sure his S rank requires a very very serious amount of training and ability

I watched a video.it was said to be from a naruto game special dvd.in it sasuke and naruto were fighting against kakashi.in one point naruto and sasuke both formed chidori and rasengan and they ran paralelly to kakashi.but kakashi just held them both from their arms and threw them away.

I mean man they just suck.they are too easy to evade.why not just use a sword instead of that stupid jutsus.they could attack from a longer range lol.even a kunai could be as useful as that jutsus unless it is used against a human.

and another thing.naruto can just run as fast as sasuke.so he can use rasengan as he is running.Chidori is faster thing is just a big LİE.chidori and rasengan is equal in every aspect.and you cant prove the opposite in any way.

before naruto left for the mission jiraiya told him not to use "that jutsu".then hiraishin is the jutsu that jiraiya was talking about.right?

it must be sth that hard to master.since naruto was able to master an A class technique like rasengan.it must be a S class technique.hiraishin is the only one that comes to mind.

it would be wonderful.I am quite bored from kage bunshin+rasengan.he should better have learnt sth stronger.

I fought Yondaime on hardest difficulty and I must say " WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS FREAK "
Damn I lost 10 times in a row and then I kicked his ass with Nidaime.
Nidaime is most likely the only one who can kick his ass because of the same slide/teleport ability.

I don't agree how can they be equal in every aspect, clarify yourself there. Rasengan is easier to excute period, also chidori is used basically to cut the enemy(usually to kill them), rasengan can be controlled easier compared to chidori , so u can hurt the enemy and intorgate them later.
