If that is so, then the anime did a bad job on that one. And honestly, chidori is supposed to be basically an assassination technique, relies on speed and makes a very quick, accurate strike, how does chidori translate into lightning around one's body? How is that better named chidori than raiton: nagashi or something along those lines.
Well that was the aoriginal chidori form. Saber, Senbon, can be stilled used for assination. Negashi i guess for when an assination goes wrong. But purposes can change when something is explored
The point is, the chidori is just one lightning jutsu, do you really need to name other lightning jutsu after chidori? I highly doubt that lightning needles would sound like a thousand birds chirping, smae with nagashi.
I understand that chidori was Sasuke's "gateway jutsu" into lightning based jutsu, but did he really have to include chidori in all his new jutsu names?
Chidori simply means "one thousand birds", it doesnt really relate to the assasination part.
Besides if sasuke's techniques are really a variation of chidori, wouldnt it be reasonable to include chidori in the name, plus how it is diferent from chidori like he is doing now?
Chidori nagashi= One thousand birds current
Chidori senbon= one thousand birds neddles
Chidori is chidori because it sounds like 1 thousand birds chirping, so far chidori nagashi as depicted in the anime doesn't sound like a thousand birds chirping. Naming all his moves chidori is like naruto naming all his jutsus rasenngan, even if it isn't even related. So yeah, sasuke uses raiton jutsu, but does that justify them being called chidori?
Sasuke's Chidori moves are all based around the same technique, Chidori (as opposed to being a completely new jutsu), which is why it would make sense to name them "Chidori [insert]". It certainly does makes sense for each technique to have it's own name, though.
No, all his moves are based around raiton, I don't see how having an electric current going around your body relates to massing lightning chakra in the palm of your hand.
Chidori Negashi did have have the bird sound. The bird sound resembles that of electricity popping and crackeling.
Really? Well, I'll go have a watch later.
However, the point is, Kakashi made chidori/raikiri, it's pretty lame that every one of Sasuke's moves is named after Chidori, couldn't he just make it "Raiton: Nagashi"?
I don't really fully understand the purpose of calling everything Chidori since I doubt Chidori is the only jutsu to turnyour chakra into a lightning current, pretty sure all Raiton jutsus would do that. The special thing about Chidori was the high concentration of Raiton Chaka into your hand, 'turning your hand into a sword' as Gai put it.
Other than that, I really don't see what makes Chidori different form any other lightning element jutsus. And yes, seems the offspring of Chidori don't even relate to the original, unlike let's say, Rasengan and FRS where one shares the shape of the other, Chidori and its variations share nothing other than element, which as Eddy said, all Raiton jutsu share.
That's exactly what I've been thinking. I forgot about Gai's comment about chidori turning your hand into a sword.
I think Naruto will eventually combine senjutsu with Kyubi chankra and comeup with an ultimate technique (the jutsu that J man said Minato left behind for Naruto) that will make him the strongest shinobi in the Manga.
I'm too lazy to explain in detail since I already spent a lot of time on these stupid pie charts, so just take a look; you'll get the idea.
Chidori is the name given to the technique because it sounds like 1,000 birds chirping. If you look at the manga everytime he uses a variation of the technique it makes the same sound effect. Ba chi chi chi. Also we don't knnow the official names of the other techniques. At least not until today when the 3rd data book is released. I can't wait to go pick that up after work :P.
I like Minato's Hiraishin and the Rasengan and Lee's Iron Fist style.
Sorry for being ignorant^^;;
