Once Reborn's anime was cancelled, it took a hit in the ToC rankings and has more or less stayed there since then.
I don't really follow that much on the ToC (I only follow bottom 5), so I'm not that much knowledgable on how ending the anime affect on the ranking. However, I know that Bleach was decreasing its volume and ranking even while the anime is airing.

I don't think so. Ao no Exorcist did show increasing its popularity before anime has started, so I think it may have reached pretty high position (maybe around same level as To Love-Ru and/or SPoT).

    Sounds good.

It depends on the series. Bleach has been falling off since before the end of Deicide, so for about two years now. A lot of series that are teetering on the edge do take a hit once their anime ends.

The start of an anime usually has more of an effect than the end of a series, but not always. Toriko didn't get the explosive new increases that Jump seemed to have expected with its anime. Kuroko has sold more since the anime began, but the ToC ranks haven't increased, so the increase in volume buyers is solely due to the anime and doesn't affect the questionnaire responses. By the time an anime ends for a Jump series, it's usually on the way out anyway, so the sales and ToC rankings have often decreased a bit anyway, although the ending of an anime usually is accompanied by an associated hit.

Even though I've said all that, different things happen with every series, so you can't just point to that and say that that's what will happen for the majority of series.

SPoT's been between 380-420k for a while, and that's still quite a lot. Maybe by this point, AnE might've naturally reached that point, but no way would it be selling 700k+ per volume without the anime.

I meant BSM and Gessan are doing same thing as getting some old hit series from their weekly counterparts.

Whatever. But, all I can say at this point is SQ's case is different from Jump.

Yeah, I agree on AnE is impossible to reach 700k sales without the anime. However, I do think AnE may at least about same sale figure as SPoT.

It may be. I'll defer to you on this one as you're more up on the comings and goings of SQ series.

Perhaps, but don't forget that 380-420k is still more than most Jump series sell, so that's really quite popular. SPoT outsells Reborn, for example. Admittedly, there is a difference in that monthly series release fewer volumes, but if you just go per volume, SPoT sells really quite well. SPoT Volume 7 was the 36th best selling volume in the first half of 2012 after all, and that was after the Big 3, KnT, SnK, Bakuman, FT, and a host of other extremely popular series, most of which had multiple volumes, so what I was getting at is that SPoT has become really quite popular. Admittedly, SPoT has all of the PoT fans supporting it.

Yeah, I know that. And I think AnE did have capacity to reach SPoT's place.

Also, as compared to PoT; SPoT isn't really much high as its prequel; PoT was really popular before it went to the national tournament arc.

Perhaps, but all we can do is speculate at this point.

Yeah, PoT sold a lot more than SPoT. I do expect a big increase in the sales figures for Volume 8 though as it's all Atobe and those yaoi fangirls do love their Atobe, especially the AtoTez moment with Niou.

    Re: Jump SQ (Shueisha)

Hiroyuki Takei will be having a new oneshot in Jump SQ in the September issue (coming out on August 4th).

It probably won't be an Ultimo oneshot either. I'm really hoping it's a Butsu Zone oneshot. That way Takei could have all of his "main" series running at the same time in 4 different magazines. Shaman King Flowers in JumpX (Kai), Ultimo in JumpSQ19, Jumbor in Ultra Jump, and then this new oneshot!

That huge Hiroyuki Takei fan, who's has been around for a long, long time....

    Re: Jump SQ (Shueisha)

How does Takei work on three on-going series and still find the time to make a one-shot? The guy's like a machine!

Binbogami has been getting my attention recently, especially if Fujita's the director. Is it worth a try?
