Your Thoughts on Chad

Chad power seem to grow when he fights stronger opponents. The fight in SS made him able to shoot unlimted blasts, the training with Renji's bankai made him stronger so I assume that fighting Espadas will help develop his power and form.

Very true. The speed of his growth is almost as fast as Ichigo's, if not equal.

I wonder--will the pattern in his armor change as he gets more parts for it? Or are strengthening the armor and completing it two separate things?

This is a tough question but if Chad's power is similar to Tsubaki's as I am guessing, then I would think other parts of Chad's body will become armoured along with the strength until he reachs the full form of "the giant".

left the title a bit obscure, since I'm not entirely sure if it's ok to discuss this yet, but seeing as Chad explained in chapter 260 that his powers are Hollow-based, which has began to make me wonder...

Could Chad be a Vasto-Lorde? (sp? I'm referring to those ultimate arrancar thingies discussed in the other thread)

and if so, is it possible that he might at one point become evil/next bad guy?

I'm curious about this, because with just his arms fully released (though I wouldn't count out his left arm possibly taking more of a weapon-resembling shape) his powers increased dramatically, pushing him well beyond Bankai level, as it would seem. Seeing as, he's Hollow-based, but not arrancar (since he lacks a zanpakuto), could it be possible he is one of these ultimate Hollow beings? I mean, he seems to slowly be transforming into a Hollow-like body and with each transformation comes an exponential increase in power, by the end of his transformation, if and/or when it's complete, he could have accumulated enough power to dwarf even the Espada...

Then again, I might just be entirely wrong and wasting your time... XD Have fun with this <3

i actually think that his powers are actually somewhat similar to arrancar. The arrancar seal off their hollow power in their zanpakuto and all that is different about Chad's powers is that his are sealed in his own being. I find it similar to how Orihime's hairpins resemble zanpakuto, she skips releasing and her powers are activated through materialization (like how Ichigo and Renji brought their zanpakutos' true forms into the real world). Basically Chad and Orihime get to skip respective steps of releasing and thus allows them more direct (and more powerful) manipulation of their abilities

Didn't both Orihime and Sado get "Hollow Marks" early in the series, before their powers awoke? Maybe being touched by the hollows combined with their increasing spiritual sensitivity awoke these dormant abilities?

I'm starting to think Kubo Tite thinks Spanish = Evil again or sumfin. Sado is spanish(And has Hollow Related powers) and alot of Hollow Related things use spanish words. Well, at least he's made it clear that not all things Hollow are evil(Nell and her crew, and Sado.) (Like I said when Biblioteca for renamed) <.<

Or maybe it's that he's trying to say Shinigami and Hollow are (only) as different as Japanese and Spanish?

I doubt it's from getting injured by hollows, I think Sado and Orihime's powers were triggered by Ichigo because he has incredible rieatsu and almost every human who hangs aroung him for long enough shows some sort of spiritual enhancement later (like his friends from school)

At least after his last power upgrade, I bet you all have wondered about Sado's roots too. Surely some of us already had ideas of a "hollowish" lineage, but (now) this had been confirmed in the last arc. This leaves me with a little question, which would be like

"How is that possible?"

So, here is what we have.
1. Sado always were a huge and strong guy. At least as far as we know of it, he had his figure since birth.
2. Appearently, his grandpa (thanks to dandy65 for correcting me) and himself lived in Mexico for many years. Maybe his grandpa even lived there for his whole life, but I have to review the earlier episodes for that. This is suspicious, since there is a linguistic connection between Mexico - they speak Spanish there - and Hueco Mundo, where they partially speak Spanish too. At least, we can sum it up to an connection between Hollows and the Spanish language.
3. Sado's grandpa was aware of their advantageous bodies. This may be a hint of his awareness of their Hollow roots too.
4. Sado's powers developed by being close to Ichigo, meaning his hollow side activated (slowly) after being influenced by Ichigo's huge reiatsu.

Although I don't share fight2thedef's opinion about that, it gave me inspiration.

In later chapters of Bleach it was stated that Hollow's shape draw near to human's if their power increases, which results in a human shape if they are Vasto Lordes.
Maybe Sado is part of a mexican clan which evolved from a connection between human and Vasto Lordes. Since the members live in the "real world", they have no contact with reiatsu, and their significant hollow atttributes and shape is surpressed by their human side. But if they come in contact with reiatsu (remember: hollow eat reiatsu filled souls), their hollow side is strengthened and becomes avaliable.

So, what do you think?

Hmm coincidentally i was just re-reading the earlier parts of the Hueco Mundo arc. I re-read the fight Chad had and it didn't really make me wonder as to how he got his power, but a thought did come across my mind about him talking about the birth of his 'real' power as it was more of a hollow based strength.
I'm not sure if we'll get to find out his true lineage but i think his family having relations with hollows may be possible. At the moment i'm really clueless as to where and how he may have obtained this power since it's of hollow-origin, hopefully Kubo will explain it when we next see chad.

Actually, Chad lived with his supposed Grandfather when his parents died, not uncle.

I think a good reason is because Sado's body is suitable for containing reiatsu but not in the form of Shinigami. So the body adapted to Hollow reiatsu instead. When near Ichigo, the little reiatsu in Sado turned hollow and increased greatly.

Chad's "Abuleto" wasn't actually his grandpa, he just adopted him. And his body just happened to take reiatsu into his human body in the manner of a hollow, is all. Inoue has god-esque powers, but that doesn't mean her ancestors were angels or something.

This is what I think:

Just like Raimaru mentioned, it seems that those who are close to Ichigo (or get exposed to his reiatsu for a while) get spiritual power and this makes Ichigo very unique btw. Ichigo is like a natural Hogyouku, his father gained his shinigami powers after Ichigo became a shinigami, his sister and his friends also developed spiritual power but they were different from each other (i.e Orihime' has healing and Sado's hollow powers). My theory is that every human have spiritual power unique to his/her nature and Ichigo have to power to "unlock" it. Developing such power depends on the user though (like how Sado and Orihime exercised to become stronger).

The above leaves us with a number of questions which is our topic, why does Sado have hollow powers, does it have something to do with his ancestors? and did his Grandpa know about it?
My thoughts are that Sado's Grandpa knew about their powers but maybe not to the extend that Sado has shown so far because the old man had his power "locked". I think Sado is a descendant of the Aztecs.Fact: They used to believe in spirits and often offered sacrifices to them. My theory is that Aztecs used to have spiritual powers and Sado is one of their descendant. Due to the extermination/extension of the great Aztec civilization, the remaining descendants hid their power and as time passed by they lost a great deal of their spiritual skills but not all though. Sado's grandpa knew that and knew that they posses power strong enough to kill and thus he raised his grandson to protect. The Mexican coin that he gave Sado has Aztec reference on it and he did so to always remind Sado of who he is. If you look at Sado's arm, one is a shield (which is an item used by Aztecs) while the other one is just hollowish looking but it may develop into a weapon used by the Aztecs as well (spear?!!).
So far there is no solid evidence from the story to support my theory but my speculations are based on the events that happened and hope it makes sense ^^.

I really like Silhouette's theory on this maybe as chad learns to use his powers more his left arm will turn more weapon like as his right turned more defense like growing into the shape of a shield his left turns more into a spear.
I also really like the whole Aztec descendant. The idea of them having spiritual powers would have to be done right though because maybe they sacraficed people to ancient hollows to keep the general population safe and seeing as hollows go after thoose with the highest spiritual power many people would never have formed spiritual powers

Now, again a question to all of you. Do you think, Chad's powers were hollow-based by his ancestry, or did he just have an affinition to reiatsu? Do you think there was an possiblity for Chad to become different powers than his hollow ones? Or do you think, there is an connection between his ancestors (possibly Aztecs, I really like this theory :P) and hollows?

If you share this idea, how exactly do you think does this connection look like? How made it Chad's family to be hollow-sided?

its very likley for chads powers to be something of ancestry , ichigo's is ancestry based and so is ishida's.
chad's family being a hollow sided one ? i dont know bu t i do know that chads powers are not hollow powers , their only SIMILAR to hollow powers (correct me if im wrong). therefore chads ancestry could have nothing to do with hollows at all , kind of like what impel sed about inoue

I always thought that chad stole his hollow powers , coz if u see in the manga and anime , when the hollow loses an arm chad gains one O.o
