Oh, nah, spoiler tags aren't needed, but they amuse me (and I tend to write long posts with pictures and stuff, so I don't feel that stupid for writing so much when they appear smaller. Mind games I say!)

Well, about Ichigo's power increasing, I don't think that's always true. Ichigo always had a massive spiritual pressure (back in chapter 1, Rukia complained that something was disrupting her senses, right? Well, that would be Ichigo's spiritual pressure I'd assume), he just never knew how to control it.

With Menos, he just was forced to release more spiritual pressure than he had before (which is probably why his zanpaktou started to lose its form afterwards), and with Renji, he reflected on his training and the things he'd learned fighting with Urahara (he learned how to control his spiritual pressure somewhat with Urahara it seems)...I don't think the hollow had anything to do with those, 'cuz after he fought Kenpachi, I got the impression that those times he "powered up" so to say, he was just drawing on Zangetsu's power instead of relying on his own.

So far we've only seen that his hollow comes out when he's near death (kinda like how Naruto's Kyuubi comes out when he's in deep shit). Back in the fight with Byakuya, only when he was about to die did the hollow come out, and in this arc, only when he was confronted with a Viazard (kicking his ass) trying to kill him did the Anti-Ichigo appear. I wouldn't think that the Anti-Ichigo brings more spiritual pressure to the mix, but its more like he knows how to use it (look at Naruto, he's horrible with his Chakra, but he's got tons of it...well, Ichigo is horrible control his spiritual pressure because he has so much of it I think).

The Hollow was present in the Renji/Kenpachi fights, but only so far as to stop him from dying outright. (Those 2 masks that they kept finding in his robes.) Ichigo simply wasn't "weak" enough for the suppresed hollow to take control is what I think...and, I think the Anti-Ichigo knowing this, "gave" Ichigo that black getsuga tensho he always uses, knowing that it would weaken his body enough for him to take control.

You know, I never thought about him erasing her memory. That's a good point, but too simple I think. How would she know to go back to Urahara otherwise? If she lost her memory, she would have forgotten about him, but she keeps going back while she's in that gigai. I think he had to place the Hougyoku inside her without her knowing.

There's not much to know. Byakuya's wife was Rukia's sister, correct? In that flashback where Byakuya was talking to Rukia, he said that her sister abandoned her. Only a few years passed between the abandonment and Rukia and Renji meeting. Not all parts of Soul Society are complete shit (like where Yachiru was from), so she could have just easily been picked up and raised by whomever found her.

I don't think Urahara would have found her or known her, because given the impression we got when Ichigo and them first arrived in Soul Society, the non-shinigami are pretty afraid of them, and there are alot who hate them because of their spiritual powers, and that they get to live in the best part of Soul Society.

I want to know from Kubo is WHY Urahara choose her to hide the hougyoko? Random choosing? I really don't believe that. Otherwise, it would have been mention already by now. There has to be a reason why Rukia was choosen to host the hougyoko because Urahara could have chosen some other poor soul to hide it in, and he didn't.

I want to know that too. It really doesn't make much sense, unless he was assuming, since she has the Kuchiki name, she'd be treated differently. You know, I guess he held to the fact that sometimes the best place to hide something is close to the people that are looking for it.

I was actually looking at his expression during his first fight w/ Renji. I don't know. It's probably just me, but I think his expression look a little 'odd', in my opinion. It's more apparent, I think, in the anime. It's as if it's not Ichigo who looked up at Renji. Ichigo was badly injured by Renji during that time, and he (Renji) was in fact going for the final kill. So, Ichigo's life is basically on the line that time. So.....

Aizen said Urahara's base of operation is on Rokungai (sorry, can't recall the district). Wouldn't that mean that Urahara didn't have any problem 'living' or 'staying' there? Of course, more so if he wasn't wearing his shinigami attire & captain coat while he was there.

I doubt Urahara will take that sort of risk in putting the hougyoko close to the same people who want to take it in the first place. I have to say it's a clever idea, but it's still risky nonetheless. Remember he wanted to hide the hougyoko forever, not hand it to the enemy on a golden platter.

Are you talking about how Ichigo's eyes change color and all that? They also changed color when Ichigo first did his Getsuga Tensho when he destroyed the execution pole. I don't know why they change, but they do when he's concentrating a large portion of his reiatsu, and I don't think it has much to do with the hollow taking over (if anything, since the normal Getsuga Tensho is Zangetsu's technique, not the Anti-Ichigo's).

She's from South Rukongai, his base of operations was in West Rukongai, and furthermore:




Hisana and Byakuya were married 55 years ago, and she died 50 years ago, and Rukia was adopted into the Kuchicki household 49 years ago. Its too big of a coincidence that 100 years ago, Urahara found Rukia, implanted the hougyoku in her, only to have this happen.

I'm not saying he couldn't have, assuming, she's just a little girl and she'll live in Soul Society where no one would think to look...but the odds of him choosing a child that would become a shinigami, a noble, issued to earth, loose her spiritual powers, etc etc is far-fetched.

IF that did happen, wouldn't you think that Urahara would have removed it from her Soul when they met on earth? He could try something else with it instead of running the risk of them finding it now. Turning her into a human would be stupid, because you're right, it would raise a lot of suspicion...he has to have some other motive for either putting it in or leaving it in (I still think he put it in that same night that Rukia transferred her powers to Ichigo), otherwise, he wouldn't run the risk with something that dangerous...

Quincy's are humans who take on spiritual powers without losing theirs human bodies. Both Shinigami and Hollows have spiritual bodies.

I think it unlikely. First of all, Ichigo merely AWAKENED Chad and Inoue's powers. He didn't cause them. Chad and Inoue were BORN with those powers. So it's unlikely that their powers will be hollow related.

Regarding Chad's powers, i have my own theory regarding that. It was no coincedence that Urahara mentioned both shinigami and quincy in one sentence regarding Chad's powers. How does a shinigami differ from a quincy? A shinigami draws his power from his soul. A quincy on the other hand, draws the reiatsu from the environment. When Urahara says that Chad's powers is neither shinigami or quincy based, i can only conclude that Chad is drawing his powers from a different source altogether, different from shinigami or quincy.

I have two possibilities in mind regarding this. The first possibility is that Chad is a quincy-shinigami hybrid. Meaning he draws his powers from his soul AND the environment. The second possibility (the one i personally favour) is that Chad is drawing his reiatsu from his own body. Chad's strength lies in his earthly body, so his power may perhaps allow Chad to convert his body energy into reiatsu.

That's my 2 centz.

i like your sense of reasoning. This is one of the best theories i have read so far concernings chad and the source of his powers.

Hatch states that Orihime's hairclips act like a zanpakutou as a means of focusing her powers, so in essence, from that statement it could be implying her powers have a likeness to Shinigami.

Although Urahara doesn't say it he does however say "Your powers are unlike Quincy or Shinigami, more so...." and leave off with the next pane shown as Ichigo in hollow form, so it may (Not saying it IS) implying his powers are hollow-esque.

Doesn't this seem in the slightest bit strange?

What i'm getting at is, because of Ichigo having two sides, a Hollow side and a Shinigami side, the fact that when he first became a shinigami fully, since his massive reiatsu was radiating out and awakening their powers, they may have been sensitive to different reiatsus in ichigos body (Shinigami Reiatsu and Hollow Reiatsu), maybe explaining why their powers are like either side of the spectrum, while Ichigo himself is in the middle as a Hybrid of both.

But still. I can't remember how Ichigo had affected Chad in a way. I only remember he got his power trying to protect Ichigo's sister. Unless Ichigo was able to free something within Chad...or something like that. XD

Your theory makes sense. The way their powers are brought about represent the Shinigami's zanpaktou and the Hollow's mask in many ways. There is a good chance that Ichigo's shinigami side brought out the powers in Inoue, while his hidden hollow powers brought out the strength in Chad. I guess this sort of theory would backup the theeory that eventually Chad will have full body armor, and resembly a hollow. Meanwhile Inoue will learn more attacks and probably an advanced version of her attacks similar to a bankai.

As far as Tatsuki and Keigo are concerned. I still find it hard to believe that either of them will be doing much in the coming future. Obviously if any of them were to be able to fight, it'd have to be Tatsuki. She has fighting ability on par with many fighters, it's just a matter of her unleashing a hidden power and strength to be able to fight at a shinigami or hollow level.

I don't see Keigo doing a whole lot.

Of course him blocking Matsumoto's attack was kinda impressive, but I have to think that was more for comedic value than to show him as an upcoming warrior or anything.

I think he's going to be a spectator only in the upcoming fights, as well as comic relief.

I thought he became what he was when he got shinigami powers from Rukia. She had the orb thingy (can't remember what it was called) that Aizen was after. That's why when Ichigo was turning into a hollow that his mask appeared first.

no no no. rukia took the hougyoku (the thingy) from urahara after that. (at least that's what i think) urahara sealed the Hougyoku and hide it inside of Rukia's Gi-gai (the temporaly body that Rukai had from him) so we cannot say that the hougyoku had anything to do with this.
we still have not many clues to say why that happened to Ichigo (his reverse transformation to hollow).

I don't think much about it, but how i looks at it, Chad has seriously more hollows poers like arrancars do, in example with realsing their sword they seem to have cover some part of the body, and Chad has like we know hand armor, and also when trio eded in HM, when ishida was talking about spiritrons, Chad looks sirious looking on his hand, maybe realzing that his also stronger (like arracanrs and hollows due to much more spirtiros in the air).
And Orihime probably has more shinigami powers, like Vaizards. Nothing to say about it, but one of the Vaizards, that big guy, said that she has similars powers to theirs, so that my answer to that ^^

I used to believe the Sado san's powers were hallow based. However zetsuie has found that the colours of Chad's arm were used in the Mexican military uniforms and the emblem of the Mexican military bears the same figure on the old coin the Chad wears which are based on the Aztec civilization.
My theory is that Chad's ancestors were the Great Aztec who had a connection with a "spiritual world" may be due to all the sacrifices they used to offer. The aztec priests/royalty -due to the connection with spirits- were granted powers from spirits or became fused with them any way you want to think about it the priests/royalty experienced some sort of spiritual enhancement and power. Now such powers were dormant until Ichigo triggered them with his spirit force. This could explain why Chad couldn't see hallows, then started to hear them to finally be able to see them...his powers were still awakening. And when Urahara says"..his powers must be..." then he is referring to the Aztecs or thier priests in specific cause Urahara knows about them due to their contact with the spirit world.

I'm not sure if it can be considered canon, but during the Bount arc hollows outside of Japan were shown to know of the existence of Shinigami. Specifically, it was during the Ichinose flashback when he was wandering in the desert.
