    Comparing Shinigami to other "races"

A quick question, something that has been on my mind for some time.... The differences and similarities between Shinigami and some of the other spiritual beings we're seeing.

First off, we see Shinigami using Kidou, and Quincy using.... spells. Have we ever gotten a title for what the classification of attack is that Ishida uses? I've heard some people call them "Destructive(?? 破壊 ??) Arts" rather than "Demon(鬼) Arts", but is this the right name? Also, if possible, what is the correct name, in its original Japanese (and romanji, for lame men like me ^.^).

Equally, while Shinigami use Zanjutsu, or Cutting techniques, what would the term be for Bow techniques? The best I can come up with is Kyuujutsu or Yumijutsu (not sure how 弓 would translate).... how off am I?

So, we move on to Hohou, or Movement Arts... We know the primary movement technique used by Shinigami is Shunpo.... Quincy use Hirenkyaku, and Arrancar use Sonido.... in all fairness, have we heard this category called anything else for the non-Shinigami, or just the names of the techniques?

Anyway, those are just my thoughts and questions.... any assistance would be greatly appreciated, since I've never seen the Bleach DB, and I do try to keep up-to-date on these japanese specifics (with both Naruto and Bleach, if I can ^.^)

    Many thanks, in advance!

I think that the different species all need to have similar abilties just so they could be on par with each other.

I don't think that a name was ever given for the bow techniques. Wikipedia has a lot of good information on Bleach, and it doesn't give a name for it.

Yeah, I think the Bow-techniques is my own, but I don't know if it's Yomijutsu or Kyuujutsu [Not japanese-proficient ^.^].

As for the others.... I'm pretty sure someone labelled the Quincy techniques at one point. I'm just curious as to how they did so [and what the Kanji/Romanji for it would be]

They never really said the name of the Quincy style of combat, but with the naming, originally, it was like old Japanese I think, but lately, all the titles are german.

Yeah, I've noticed the recent German bit, too.... certainly seems fitting for Ishida's demeanor, mind...

How does German fit Ishida? He's Japanese, and has been using Japanese for a while now.

I mean the demeanour. The Quincy seem to be quite proud and overbearing, which is stereotypical behaviour of the white-supremist olden-days Germans. To be fair, I'd compare it more to the southern states folks, now, save that Ishida doesn't seem to be inbred or play a banjo [/really, really bad stereotyping joke].

I simply meant that it fit his attitude, more than anything else. He thinks Quincy are superior.

He doesn't think that they are superior, he just has pride in his family, and is angry at Shinigami and Hollows for killing so many Quincys and humans.

    Themes of Bleach

    So my first thread....

So I was wondering what kubo would use as a theme for the king/squad zero arc.

    Like we know.....best guess.....
    Shinigami- Japanese
    Quincy/Bount- German
    Vizards- Austrailian
    Arrancar- Latin/Spanish

this sort of leave olden day europe and arabic themes.....this are the only one that come to mind.

I just got tired of discussing possible power up and ranks and just decided to make my thread less....you know....more of the same

    Re: Themes of Bleach

I agree with everything up until the Vizards. How are they Australian?
Squad Zero would either be Japanese like their Soul Society counterparts or olden day European. We'll see when we get there.

    Also, Bounts- German.

    Re: Themes of Bleach

Well the word vizard comes from Spanish, so the Vizard would be a mix of Spanish and europeans, And Squad zero would most likely be japanese since they are Shinigami

The vizard seem very japanese. Mashiro and Lisa most definitely are pure japanese.

I think what is missing is a french theme. English and japanese are already all over the place. Spanish and german are taken, which leaves French.
My blog. Not very interesting, but if you are bored and want to burn time, there are pages of junk to read!

    Re: Themes of Bleach

okay fine maybe austrailian is a little far fetched for the vizards but i don't really feel the japanese them with them. Especially with shinji.

Anywayz the french theme for the king would be too funny to fit in bleach.

    Re: Themes of Bleach

    Hmm vaizards=australian???hoowww lol

I think The espada cater for West/South europe-there gave been spanish Italian (dordonni) and french (Grmmjow Jeagerjaques) German (starrk).

The Quincy seem to be entirely German (even though they are japanese lol).

The Shinigami are obviously japanese samurai.

I wander if we would get someone indian or chinese? that would be good.
