Broadband- What connection do you have?

Yo, this is not that much of a thread to get to know each other than a thread to help me out!

I'm writing a work in university and it concerns Internet connection and it's costs. I'd like to know what kind of connection do you have and, if it's not a secret, how much does it cost per month.
If you feel too shy to reveal that info in this thread (there are all kinds of people ) you could PM me to tell that.

well my net is a little special... im a testpilot for a wireless internet company, i signed on for 2
months, ive had it for little more than 5. im not paying anything. its not the fastest line (5 mb) out there but hey,
why complain when its for free?

I have DSL. And it costs about $56 a month.

We used to have a cable connection but since we are in an apartment complex it was difficult since all the other apartments in the building were feeding off of the same line, and we needed faster download times than what we were getting.

I also use DSL and the monthly bill is around the same as Tamerlane's when converted to US dollars. My mom is thinking of switching to another provider that boasts cheaper rates.

I share with 5-6 people, but totally it costs around US$35 - 40

I have dsl 1024. Monthly fee is around $32. Internet is not cheap.

i have a 1MB connection and i pay £16 english pounds with no limits. but there are cheaper once.
UK's internet is getting cheaper and faster each month, and i believe BT (British telecoms, most of the phone lines in england belong to them, but they sale the rights to use their lines to many other companies to boost competition) are introducing faster rates for all in a few months time. i think we will get a boost upto 8mb for the same price in a years time. or so they say in the papers.

I'm using DSL and it costs me...erm...my parents somwhwere around well, I don't know, but it costs my mom alot.

But the thing is, it's still slow. Someone's told em that connections in America are even much more faster compared to our eensy weensy DSL here.

Proof of that will be, one chapter takes at least 15 minutes for me to download. And I've tried uploading one chapter once to MH's FTP, and it took me more than an hour to upload at least 18%.

I let Ghost (Khal) finish it from there and it only took him 15 minutes. =/
