I think yor missing the point. Everything in this thread is purely imaginary. It's what-if and how that ripple effect would change the Naruto universe. What our sweet as honey Lord Hokage means is how would it change the story if Neji's dad and Asuma never died.

If none of those events happened, Naruto-verse would be full of super strong ninjas, it'll a huge testosterone fest. Everyone would be like "Hey I'm strong than you", "No I'm stronger' and so on.

There's this fan that decided to make his own "what if" naruto manga last year. It was pretty interesting. I can tell that it was made after Naruto met Sai but before Asuma died. In it, Naruto left Konoha with Jariaya again, this time for only two years. Sakura is his girlfriend and Naruto and Kakashi are two major candidate for the Hokage title. You'd have to read it to actually understand it. It's more for people that like reading fake spoilers, if they are good. This fan is actually dedicated to it, he is still putting chapters out. If nothing else, it gives me something to read while I'm waiting for the real manga to come out, and the fans seem to like it. Here's a link:

Being the son of a great man you are expected to do well, failure is not an option. Naruto will either be super cocky or a big disappointment.

Even if those bad events didn't take place there would still be other bad events.

Lets start as far back as we can.

If Madara didn't betray the village maybe Madara would've been the either the Shodaime or Nidaime. The Kyuubi wouldn't have attacked Konoha but another village.

If Orochimaru didn't do all those grotesque experiments he wouldn't have been kicked out. Rather, I think Orochimaru would've been the director of the Konoha Ninjutsu Research Institute and possibly the Godaime after Sarutobi who might be the Yondaime. Orochimaru would have three pupils including Anko and possibly Minato.

Jiraiya would leave the village to pursue his novel writing and travel the entire world. His three pupils would be the three Rain orphans.

Tsunade would be happily married to Dan. Her brother would've been a strong ninja possibly becoming a Hokage possibly after Orochimaru. She would've been the head of Konoha's Medical Institue but still a terrible gambler. She would also had three students including Shizune.

Minato would still be Konoha's Yellow Flash and become the Hokage later.

Obito would still be alive. Obito and Kakashi would be eternal rivals leaving out Gai. Gai wouldn't be as strong but more of a comedic relief.

Obito would be the jounin for Sasuke and Sakura. Kakashi still the jounin of Naruto but just Naruto. Naruto would be flashy but smarter and much more capable of using and applying basic ninjutsu. Yet, Naruto would still be a loud mouth.

Gaara would not have been the jinchuuriki for the Ichibi. He wouldn't been crazy or mentally unstable.

Zabuza didn't start a massacre but would later be trained by Kisame becoming a renown member of Mist's Swordsman.

Haku's family would have been a small powerful clan of ice users in the Mist along with other strong blood limit users. The Mist country would have strong blood limit users. Haku wouldn't been the student of Zabuza. He would've been one of Mist strongest ninjas because of his peculiar ability. Haku might be known as the "One-handed Wizard."

Kimmimaro's clan would've still been decimated due to their blood lust but he would not have his disease. He would've been someone who would pose a threat to the Mist Village years later and might even fight with Haku.

I'll tack on some more later on. Have to brainstorm about possible alternate events.

Sasuke would never have the Curse Seal... Juugo would've been cured or at least regarded with high, scientific intrigue, leading to great medical endeavors. The Sound Four, of course, would fail to be. Naruto would seemingly never learn how to summon Gamabunta---it's pretty likely that he wouldn't.

Kakashi, accordant with Obito's survival, would have no Sharingan and probably no useful Chidori---until he accepted that using Hiraishin could possibly complete Chidori... but what about the thrust?

I think that a Kakashi without the sharingan cannot use the chidori and it would be his incomplete jutsu. Because he cannot use chidori as often as he would like, the legend of him cutting a bolt of lightning doesn't exist and his raikiri never came into being. But that doesn't mean he won't have any special attacks. Kakashi would still be using his father's sword and might even channel his chidori into it.

I was trying to think up of one event that would have a tremendous effect on all the rest and I think it would have to be the Madara v Shodaime fight. It was bound to happen but what if the Shodaime was the one that lost? If the Shodaime lost, he might have been killed also. If the Shodaime was killed, the Nidaime had to leave Konoha urgently with all of his supporters, friends and family members.

Danzo would have been the Sandaime. There would be no "Will of the Fire" as we know it. Konoha wouldn't be peace loving but very militaristic. The Uchiha clan would be the elite clan in Konoha. Itachi might become Hokage followed by Sasuke as the next Hokage.

All Uchiha clan members are encouraged to develop the sharingan and even the mangekyou sharingan.

The Kyuubi would be Konoha's ultimate weapon and used to ravage other countries.

The Nidaime might start his own village that would encompass the ideals of his brother and him. It would also be the last bastion of hope against Konoha.

I can't think of any more but this would be a very interesting alternate reality for Naruto.

I love "What if" questions I think if Oro's parents didnt die, he'd never have gotten the idea of looking for ways to become immortal. This could mean that whatever "bad/evil" things he intends to do may not have involved human sacrifices. He could have then became a Hokage like he had always wanted. Konoha would eventually become his 'plaything' for his bad/evil plans. So ultimately, there goes Konoha's peace and prosperity..

If Nine-Tails never attacked, Naruto would have been born into a normal family. Grew up like a normal/Genius kid. Might develop a personality much like his father ie Serious? and not a troublemaker/prankster. But who knows, i mean, his mum was supposedly a loud tomboy

No Uchiha Clan massacre = continue existence of Uchiha's rule over Konoha's police. Evil villains will have an easier time laying their hands on a sharingan user since they are in abundance :P Sasuke will grow up to be an emo kid still seeking approval from his father. He will not be as powerful as he is now without his hatred and vengefulness towards his brother to push him to get stronger. In other words, Sasuke will be this normal/emo kid with lesser* attention drawn to him.

What if incidents like the death of Orochimaru’s parents, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox attack on the Hidden Leaf Village, and the Uchiha Clan mascara or any other incidents was deterrent, would the end results still remains the same or not?

Naruto would be known as a genius(especially since his pops would be teaching him jutsu's). Ino and Sakura would still be best friends because one of them would be crushing on Naruto, while the other on Sasuke. Naruto would probably be super cocky, and still be rivals/best friends with Sasuke, accept Sasuke would have acknoledged Naruto, and they would act more like friends than rivals. Hinata would admire Lee instead of Naruto. Naruto would still be feelin Sakura, and I have no idea who Sasuke would be crushing on cuz he never shows any intrest in woman because of his obsession of killing his brother. Itachi would of killed Oro, when he went to the chuunin exam to test Sasuke.

Well, I think if those events never happened, then:

1. Orochimaru wouldn't be as evil and his desire to live a long time wouldn't exist. I think it was implied that he wanted to live a long time and learn new jutsus so that one day he may reunite with his reincarnated parents.

2. Yondaime would be alive. Naruto would be one of the most recognized shinobi and will have the potential to surpass his father (Well he has that now, but only Kakashi recognizes it).

3. Sasuke would have no strong determination to become so strong. I don't think his determination to surpass his loving brother is quite as strong as his determination to surpass his hated brother.

The end result would be this:

Naruto was a village genius who will one day surpass his father, the great Yondaime. No one in their right mind would mess with Konoha because Konoha has Sandaime, Yondaime and 3 Legendary Sannin, the Uchiha Clan and the one person that has the potential to become the strongest shinobi, Naruto. Well...the end.

These two follow-up responses to Lord Hokage's question, I agree with, besides Itachi having any reason to kill Orochimaru, which ornis and Zeus-Tails already explained.

There really wouldn't be as much drama, and probably more minor incidents than any major ones - because they'd all be more secure especially in that the Legendary Sannin might have never left Konohagakure.

Jiraiya wouldn't have had to left to search for Orochimaru, for example. Well, perhaps Tsunade would have left after the death of her brother and husband, though. But in the possibility that all three Sannin remained in the village, WITH Sandaime and Yondaime still in the city, no one would have dared to attack Konohagakure, leading to peaceful times.

If Madara did use the Kyuubi to attack Konohagakure, but waited on it, well, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and everybody else would have grown to be relatively normal teenagers compared to their selves in the manga. Except Neji, since his clan rivalries would still be intact.

Sasuke would be SO normal, actually. Because his dad actually adored him, as Sasuke's mother revealed to him one time at breakfast time, he wouldn't have been so emo. In fact, it is possibly because of just what his mother told him about his father that he became so distraught when his brother killed them.

But if Itachi never killed them, and stayed a faithful, loyal brother, I have a feeling Sasuke would still have surpassed his brother regardless and grown to be one of the more powerful "policemen" of the village. Since Itachi actually did not seem to have any aspirations to become clan leader, Sasuke would have likely won that post and became a mirror image of his father.

Since Orochimaru’s parent’s personalities are unknown, we would never know if they had a likely for blood. Although his evil path was awakened by their death, what it have made any differences if they were alive? his eyes, not much. For example: Orochimaru killed Gaara’s father. If he didn’t kill him, he would have probably died by Gaara’s hand or someone else. If Kyuubi didn’t attack the Hidden Leaf Village, Yondy would have died by some other means and Naruto would never be an orphan. As for the Uchiha Clan mascara, the end results would still remains the same. Why? Sasuke’s mother, brother and his uncle always acknowledge him but his father and the reminding clan members didn’t. His desire for acknowledgment from his father would lead him down the path of darkness.

I think you're overthinking this too much, Lord Hokage. Orochimaru seemed to truly love his parents; he might have actually been more gentle and listened more to Sandaime's teachings. He might even have become the next Hokage.

Yondaime would possibly just as much live to be a ripe old age because he would have never been challenged by a power like the Kyuubi. And the rest of the Five Countries already knew how formidable he was - they would have had to have champions of their own to challenge him. Pain would possibly have been one, but he'd be the only one.

And as for Sasuke, I already commented on that above.

However, I think Orochimaru's eyes are the way they are because of the white snake. Perhaps he swallowed/infused the white snake? His parents will die one day as human, so there's no escape from his dark path.

That's a pretty nice theory ShadowStrike. I think it's more likely though that Orochimaru experimented with a latter white snake (when he had more knowledge and the assistance of a medical expert like Kabuto) to become "part" of it, and the snake grew inside himself until it was more Orochimaru than his former human self.
