A little late to say it, but I'm sad France lost, despite Zidane's "outburst". Oh well, kudos to Italy. Maybe next World Cup.
I can't find the hidden mistake...where?
anyone who can lip read can enlighten us with what materazzi said to zizou?[br]Posted on: July 11, 2006, 03:11:36 AM_________________________________________________http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=373675&cc=3436
this could probably be true,...
but anyway... bad-mouthing is still no excuse for violence..
coz i think it's supposed to be everyday food for footballers..
I just read in one of the news, unfortunately the news is in Indonesian, Materazzi said some pretty nasty things to Zidane -- which involves stuff about his mother and about him being the son of a terrorist or something like that.
yeah..that's what the above link says too..
and the SOS racism is looking into it..
materazzi could get into trouble too..
but, how to get evidence? lip-read?
WTF? Materazzi into trouble? HA HA HA
That's funny!!! Zidane almost killed him!!!
Well its partly his own fault too...I dont want to protect zidane now...but there is no reason to verbally offend other players too...Originally Posted by rykarreolacr

Yup Bibichan! I'd agree with ya!
No matter what was said to him, Zidane is always gonna come off worse for having done that and at his age and having played for as long as he has done and having been through so many similar situations on the world stage, he should have known better. I still think he's one of the most awesome players the world has seen and nobody can take that away from him though.
Materazzi, 32, told Gazetta dello Sport: 'I held his shirt for a few seconds only, then he turned to me and talked to me, jeering.
'He looked at me with a huge arrogance and said, `If you really want my shirt I'll give it to you afterwards'. I replied with an insult, that's true.'
Materazzi has not elaborated on what he did say, but one report suggested he responded with: `I'd rather take the shirt off your wife'.
He has denied, however, some of the more vile insults referring to his wife or sister or calling him a terrorist.
'It was one of those insults you're told dozens of times and that you often let fall on a pitch,' Materazzi said.
'I did not call him a terrorist. I am not a cultured person and I don't even know what as Islamist terrorist is.'
He added: 'For me the mother is sacred, you know that.'
Materazzi lost his own mother when he was just 14 years old.
Zidane's agent Alain Migliaccio earlier said Materazzi provoked Zidane with a 'serious comment', with suggestions the defender called his sister a prostitute.
Brazilian television channel Globo claims they hired lip-readers to watch the footage, and they said he twice insulted Zizou's sisters.
Zidane himself is yet to comment on the issue.

Uh, insulting the other player is part of soccer. You're trying to get the other person off his game. Materazzi was successful, that is all. Even if that headbutt to the chest from Zidane's bald head hurt like hell.
