I don't post much (Ok, so I don't post at all), but I have had Mangahelpers bookmarked for quite a while.

I think a Shaman King review would be something worth looking over, seeing as how it's a new take on one of Takei's previous mangas, qualifying it as something worth reviewing (In this member's opinion). I really like the art, and boy, are the releases spaced apart sometimes... which makes for a suspenseful "Gah! What happens next? Wait, what? I have to wait a month or two?!"

@gdupninja: thanks! Glad you're enjoying it I don't know if I'll be able to get to a Mushishi review any time real soon; I have a couple others in progress (and to be honest I'm not very fond of it ).

@safusu: honestly I'm not planning on a Shaman King review; there's just too much pent up rage at the latter half of it to write an objective review. It would turn into a 5 page rant, and that's something I'm trying to avoid.

@everyone: I apologize for not being around much lately; work has been kicking my butt the last month or so, 80+ hour work weeks ftl. I ended up stepping down from the scanslation projects I was working on, but I'm hoping to continue doing this section still. I "think" things have calmed down a touch, so here's hoping.

Also, I am looking for representative artwork for each review as well, to give people an idea of the style, so if you have anything you think would work well, please let me know. (Artist work only; no fanart)

Don't want to sound like a whiner, but do we have to use a grading system? I do want to post reviews, but I've always felt that the rating systems for reviews aren't needed. Could I just put up a review without ratings?

For consistency's sake, I would rather people kept with the template.

Now, why a rating system you ask? Semantically speaking, it's simply clearer and easier to understand. Using only words, it is difficult to convey any sort of objective scale, especially from one series to another. It's not impossible, but even professional reviewers tend to stick to numeric ratings, for precisely that reason.

But, that said, post what you have in mind in the Proofing Area; if it works, we may be able to bend the rules^^

Thanks. I understand why people feel that ratings systems are needed, but I've always thought that people tend to rely on ratings to base their opinions on somehing instead of trying it out themselves.

I request to have the HunterXHunter Review Thread be shutdown. This is simply due to the following reasons:

1.) it is completely biased, opinion-based comments and description of the Original Poster
2.) Because of the Original Poster lack of commitment shown in how he hasn't kept his/her promise to make changes on his/her review that would be satisfactory to those who have read the manga
3.) The review deviates from goal of making a "review that will help new readers become interested on other not-so-popular manga" even though HXH is pretty well known.
4.) Based on my observation on the changes made, the review thread seem to have a "Posting a Review for the sake of posting a review" feel.
5.) Through the course of the thread's existence, there were no other people who was able to provide the OP a more accurate and/or helpful review of the manga to help improve the thread besides 2 people who posted their's on the January. It's March now and everything else besides 2 helpful posts are only comments saying that it was a bad review.

If this action of shutting the thread down was done, I would also request a new review on HXH to also be done by someone. (I can't do it coz, I don't have the time to re-read the manga.)

So i´m new here in this Forum so i could give a review of any manga i read?? Is there some points about age of mangas only new ones or any on the market. Must be the series finish or it could be also running?? I like the Thread because its good when u want search for a new series to the how storyline goes.

Sure you can post your reviews, there is no restriction about genre, just follow this guideline.
