i believe after madara lost "twice" he knew he needed a more solid plan of doing what he wanted to do. but since he lost his most prized possession his capability is prolli reduced by 50% so now instead of rushin into things he goes thru phases and takes things slowly thats y i believe itachi said "his nothing but a shell of his former self" prolli meaning he has the ability but itachi reckons his a chicken becoz his taking too long to complete his objectives

Madara used his space-time jutsu to jump into the future!!! So technically he is not that old.
wasnt it mentioned that the first died 90 years ago? sarutobi was around that 80 wen he died?
so madara left the village wen he looked quite young maybe 25?
came bac and challenged at 28 and lost
assuming the first died a few years after so wouldnt it make madara around 120
The databook says Konoha was founded about 60 years before the series started, which is about 64 years now. Guess Madara's age at that time and add 64. He is not the 150 year old that some people think he is.
Im not sure if any of you are aware of this. This is good forum topic here. Its from 2006 but it still connects to a lot of the theories on this website.
We also touched base on Rikudou Sennin in the anime recently and in the manga. Maybe we will starting building a story around him and the "moons eye" plan with Madara, which was also another good theory I might add.
I said this somewhere before but I believe if the sharingan's MS power was giving by the kyuubi then Naruto would not only have an unlimited supply of chakra but the potential to use god jutsus. I would assume.
I think Mandara had the ability to use the kyuubi like how Saskue and Itachi summing Sasunoo.
It could be both
