General Character Strength Ranking Thread

I think the captains of SS are not some one to be trifled with. They are all powerful in their own rights. Pretty soon we will see just how strong they really are.

As for urahara, I would put him on a level maybe slightly higher than byakuya. Sure he is strong but he hsa not fought in over a hundred years, I mean not completely so he may not be as strong as he used to be. In the end I just want to see some more BANKAI!!

Exactly. Lets just see some more bankai from all of our favorite shinigami.

such as Shunsui, Ukitake, Yoruichi, Urahara, Soi Fon, and of course, Yamma.

Aizen, Tousen, and Gin dont count cuz theyre the bad guys and all that. but I'm sure all of us wants to see Aizen's and Gin's bankai as well.

urahara on the same level as byakuya? thats a joke. as for ishin, he just like yoruichi spent a long time out of their real bodies, so we dont know how much power they have lost. I'd say yoruichi at full power is above urahara.

I agree with you on that one. I don't think that Byakuya is anywher near the power level of Urahara. Urahara is most likely around the same level as Aizen. But thats just thru my eyes, so dont get crazy now. if u wanna leave a comment on it, go ahead and do so but dont be mean or I WILL turn u in.

I basically watch manga with the mindset that the main character will be the one to defeat the greatest villain, or more precisely, the main character is the only person strong enough in the end to defeat the greatest villain of the manga. that is why unless there is another villain stronger than aizen, i don't see any character that is as strong as, or stronger than aizen, not even yama, and not urahara.

I have decided to make my list of every Bleach character I can think of some will have comments and some will not, this will be done in Tiers. (No specific order in Tiers)

Tier 1:
Yammamoto - He's Captain Commander, his Shikai is insane, he founded the Shinigami Academy, with his Bankai he must be at Tier 1.

Aizen - A Powerful Antagonist indeed, with his illusions of doom, can confuse everyone but Tousen, can ge Grimmjow on his knee's by raising his Reitsu.(SP?) deserves to be here.

Tier 2:
Shunsui - As said by Yamamoto, Shunsui is one of the only Captains in Soul Society with two Zanpakuto's and also regarded one of the strongest Shinigami, his shikai is cool even though we didn't see much, can't wait to see his Bankai.

Ukitake - As said by Yamamoto, Ukitake is one of the only Captains in Soul Society with two Zanpakuto's and also regarded one of the strongest Shinigami, although he has a disease, dosent mean he can't fight, but he would be weaker than Shunsui and maybe on Par with Unohana.

Unohana - One of the seniors and called Dai-Sempai by both Sunsui and Ukitake, her amasing healing abilities can come in handy during a battle, but also he physical strenght seems to be high from what Kubo has told us, seems like she scares all the other division's especially Division 11.

Shinji - Was once a Captain, now has Hollow abilities along with Shikai and Bankai, was able to beat Ichigo with out mask or releasing, could always sence Aizen was not who he was, and is very smart.

Urahara - He may be a scientist, but his Shikai is awesome, he's a very wise man(And they tend to be powerful) he can be really serious when he want's to, learned his Bankai in just 3 days.

Yourichi - She was once a captain, and above Urahara(Who was her 3rd seat at the time) but it's unsure which of the two are more powerful now, never uses a Zanpakuto, hammer's Yammy, beats Soi fon, without Zanpakuto.

1st Espada - Common sense!

Gin - Has a soul of pure evil, was a prodigie, when we saw him as a child in the gaiden, he had already gained Shikai, fought with Toushiro and basically won(Until Rangiku came and got in the way), seems quite dumb, but is prob very Smart.

2nd Espada - Prob weakest in this Tier.

Tier 3:
Tousen - He took down Kensei in one hit, sure it was from behined but still, he has cool Bankai skills, only lost to Kenpaichi because he figured away out of Tousens bankai, cut Grimmies arm off, then again that was unexpected, even Aizen can't confuse him. Either the strongest or 2nd strongest here, depending on the 3rd Espda.

Rose - One of the Vaizards, he and Love seem to be on par, he's one of the wiser Vizards.

Love - Same as Rose.

Byakuya - Very wise, dosen't let anything get in his way, seems to have a rivalry with Yourichi, cool Shikai and powerful Bankai.

Tessai - Once a captain(Yes I count Kidou corps Captain as a proper captain) can use a level 99 Kidou with ease, can destroy hollows with his fist and stopped Ichigo from becoming a hollow.

Soi fon - Despite what some say, she's quite powerful, her Shikai is a two hit kill, maybe her Bankai is a 1 hit kill?

Zaraki - Obese with strenght, insane Reitsu has lame ass Kendo(But seems powerful....) loves to battle.

3rd Espada - Wouldn't rank lower.

Ulquiorra - Obviously stronger than Ichigo but just how much? He beat him with out using his Unreleased Zanpakuto, or even any kind of Kidou.

Tier 4:
Nnoitora - a powerful foe indeed, beat the crap out of Ichigo, fought with Nel and survived, almost killed Zaraki, but lost because of Zaraki's Kendo, unsure if he's dead yet though(I personally think he ain't)

Nel - Sure she used to be 3rd, but the Espada have gotten stronger so is roughly at Nnoitora's level, her release is kinda gay, but she is powerful.(Prob strongest in this tier)

Ichigo - Atleast Captain level, gained Bankai in 3 days(Like Urahara) still needs to master Bankai, speed is incredible, can fight on par with Espada 6.

Grimmjow - Can fight on par with Ichigo, insane release, very fast and has the number 6 for a reason.

Komamura - Despite what people say, he may not be fast or good with Kidou, but his strenght is extremely high, and so is his Defense, Bankai is pointless, but huge for a reason, in the game's he's a powerhouse(He may be one of the weakest captain's but he's very strong.)

Kensei - Once a Captain, now a vaizad, not much info is given but the fact that he was the first Vaizard and we have seen his powerful Shikai.

Hiyori - Once a Vice Captain, now a vaizard, she seems weaker than Ichigo but she has some strenght.(Prob weakest in this tier)

Lisa - Once a V-Captain, now a Vaizard she seems to be smart and the strongest female vaizard.

Tier 5:
Zommari - Pwned by Byakuya.

Hitsugaya - My fave char and weakest of the Captain's, but he has only begun his life as a Shinigami, he will gain outragious strenght later on.

Mayuri - Worked with Urahara add extra coolness, seems smart, but crazy, and he usually wins his fight's exept the Ishida one ¬_¬(Prob strongest here)

Szayel - Like Mayuri, handeled a vice Captain and a powerful Quincy, help Nnoitora get rid of Nel(He just stood there, but appearntly he did) outsmarted by Mayuri.

Kuukaku - A relative to Yourichi, awesome with Kidou.

Hacchi - Has techniques like Orihime, can use level 99 kidou, once a Vice Captain.

Mashiro - Once a vice captain, but quickest to defeat her inner hollow.(Either her or Hitsugaya)

Tier 6:
Renji - Knows Bankai, is a Vice Captain, beat Ichigo once.

Ikkaku - For a 3rd seat he is very, very powerful! he already knows Bankai.(Prob strongest here)

Matsumoto - Cool Shikai and is Vice Captain

Shuuhei - He's powerful!!!! and is Vice(Some people say he's weak cuz he lost to Yumichika, he only lost because he wasn't expecting the powers of Yumichika's Shikai)

Kira - Awesome Shikai ability, good with Kidou.(Prob weakest here)

Aaroniero - The oldest Espada and the only Gillian, almost killed Rukia.

Tier 7:
Yammy - 10th strongest arrancar, meaning he's stronger than ever fraccion, and arrancar that went to earth, raped Chad, and soon raped Ichigo(Only because something happened to Ichigo, I 4get what it was though), hammered by Urahara, killed a medic. (Did I make his sound cool or lame?)

Yumichika - Surprisingly strong for a 5th seat, cool shikai.

Rukia - She isn't a very powerful character, beutiful Shikai, will eventually learn Bankai.

Ishida - I was unsure to put him here or tier 6......, cool abilities, he's smart.(Prob strongest here.)

Sasakibe - 1st squad Vice for a reason, wouldn't imagine being any weaker.

Momo - May not be strong physically, has anger problems, loves Aizen, specialises in Kidou(Prob best Vice at it).

Iba - Seems strong, but he wouldn't beat Ikkaku.

Yachiru - You don't wanna get on her bad side.

Nemu - She's hella fast.(Prob weakest here)

Chad - Cool hollow like powers, seems to be covered in strenght and defense.

Tier 8:
2nd Squad vice(4get name) - I could easily say he's the weakest Vice anybody disagree?(I'd say weakest here)

Nanoa - Good at Kidou and Smart

Isane - A good healer.

Orihime - May get more powerful since she has strange powers.

Ganju - Like's fire works, at Vice-Captain level.(Prob strongest here)

Hanatarou - A good healer, weak physically.

Tier 9:
Seated Officers.....

Tier 10:
Assorted Crappies......

Well we know Ichigo is powerful, but not that powerful, Byakuya I believe has more potential and physical strenght than Ichigo, as for Tousen, he may not have good physical strenght but his intelligence make's up for it, because to be honest, Ichigo is smart, but not that smart which is why Tousen is ahead of him. As for the Vaizards, I didn't put all the Vaizards up there only the select few who I thought where weaker than Tousen and Byakuya and Grimmjow, roughly the same level as Ichigo, thats a reason he is there.
Nnoitora is powerful, but yeah just maybe he could go up a tier but being one of the weakest there, and Nel was fighting on Par with Noi, or if not she was slightly stronger.

Now Starzen is this explained enough? all that I came up with before I wrote anything.

Um, byakuya has more physical strength? Ichigo is the brute force character that has little mastery of shinigami powers compared to the other captains. I think he has more physical strength, if his bankai alread matches Byakuya's final form bankai, which is pure strength, then Ichigo's bankai+mask would send him over the top.

That said, Byakuya is much more well rounded for a shinigami. He more experience and knows his zanpakuto's powers better. He knows more shunpo techniques (although bankai ichigo can just brute force out tons of shunpos). He can do high level kidos without incantation, ichigo on the other hand, knows no kido at all. I don't know about hand to hand combat, as neither seem to use it anyways.

So basically, Byakuya is matched by ichigo in zanjetsu (ichigo has more power, byakuya hhas more experience and stronger bond with zanpakuto). He has better foot techniques (shunpo). And he has FAR better kido.

So yeah, I'd say Byakuya is a tier higher than ichigo.

I however do not agree with Tousen's rank. He took down Kensei from behind, it's a freaking sneak attack, how the hell would kensei avoid it? Kensei wasn't even in shikai for all we know, so he wasn't even releasing much of his reiatsu. There's a difference between making a fatal cut in battle, and a fatal cut when somebody is calm (it's like stabbing somebody when they're sleeping).

Tousen got brute forced by zaraki, ichigo could probably do the same. Tousen should be in the same tier as ichigo, unless he became a vizard as well, in which case, we have no idea of his powers. And he definitely wouldn't be the second strongest or strongest of that tier unless you are counting the possibility that he became a vizard. For all we know, Grimmjow was gonna kill Tousen after his arm was cut off, but was stopped by Aizen. IMO, Ichigo could stay at tier 4 or become the bottom of tier 3. Tousen is not at the top of tier 3 unless he is a vizard. Byakuya is probably the upper part of tier 3 because he is just so well rounded.

Compared to anybody else with significance, Chad's one of the weakest characters. He's so pathetically weak all he's managed to really do is defeat a weak arrancar. Oh, and the third seat of the eighth squad.

i agree with you here. i'm at a bit of a loss for where chad should be placed in a strength ranking. he did defeat gantenbainne, but don't forget that this took place in hm, where his power seems to be augmented. what is his true power elsewhere? and how much of a power boost did he really get in hm? i think we need to see him against some stronger opponents to see where his limit really is.

@ starky : that explains a lot, thanks. byakuya and the rest of the shinigami are physically stronger as he couldn't even cut the top espada in bankai mode. What ichigo has is his crazy riatsu and speed.
