Well the chunin vest is actually pretty detailed, though it may not seem so at first. It has a funny collar, those flaps that go over the shoulders (which in itself has some detail) and those little boxes/pouches on either side of the chest to put things in - all that adds minutes on to your drawing time, especially if you're having to draw the vest on multiple characters within one frame. As well, for continunity, you'd have to make sure that you've got the details matching each and every time, for each and every frame, and that goes for representing them at different heights and angles (which requires different types of shading).Originally Posted by ibra87
It's not that any of that has a high level of skill difficulty, just that it would become tedious and time consuming over a a lengthy period. If the vests and headbands add say, an extra 10-15 minutes on to your total drawing time (for one frame) that all adds up to a lot of extra minutes at the end of the working week (if the vests feature a lot that week). That could end up adding hours on to your week! And the continuity would be a pain (in the movies, they employ people specifically for continuity but I don't know if anime studios could afford that).
Naruto's design, I guess, must have the same issues, what with his jumpsuit detail, the swirly thing on his shoulder and the thing that looks like a tube of lipstick! Just having to draw such fiddly little things constantly would take up a lot of time.
i cant believe that he likes OASIS
whatever tks for the interview, really interesting!
I see your point. But I've always thought that it doesn't matter because they probably have a lot of people drawing the frames. It's not like one person who's doing it. And even if it's true that it's time consuming, these people probably get paid for every minute they work
They would have teams of people, certainly, but an anime studio doesn't want their profits gobbled up by wages. The more people they employ, the more wages they have to pay out of their profit. I would think they'd try and keep the team numbers as low as they can get away with and make one person do the job of two where they can get away with it (like in every other work place! *groan, grumble*) Yeah, I don't dispute they get paid for every minute! My point was just that if you're scrambling to meet a deadline - you don't want any needless detail making it more difficult! And nobody wants to work for longer than they have to! knew i should have copied and pasted...
"First was the seal, which is understandable because it had the design of that figure. But why the chunning vest and the others things?"
Ahhh...this one! OK...*penny drops* Um...yeah. Dunno mate. Guess we'll have to wait for Ibra87 to get back to us on that one and explain what he meant. I must have overlooked it!Originally Posted by ibra87
I would have thought it was a pain in the ass to draw just because it's so damn fiddly! All those little tadpole thingies to draw!
We're talking about the cursed seal of Neji here. I forgot the name, but it was the mark Hitler used. Obviously it wasn't allowed to be shown on TV , so they simply put a cross instead.
That was quick Ibra! Good one! Just to clarify first, is this the question to which you were originally referring? I think we might have our wires crossed!Quote:
oh! that explains it! for a moment i thought it was the curse seal that sasuke had, because its in the shape of three 6's
yap that's the oneOriginally Posted by Kadoman
Or was he refering to the Sasuke?
Yeah, Ibra, I'm pretty certain Kishi was referring to Sasuke's curse marks. They'd be a right pain in the butt to draw. But I'm interested in what you were saying earlier about Neiji's curse mark having some connection with Hitler! Can you explain more about that?
And perhaps post a pic on how the thingie looks in the manga against what is shown in the anime.
and why exactly couldnt it be the three 6's? lol
Here is the seal in the manga:
Not really a "connection with hitler", but the mark reminds much of the mark hitler used.
