in terms of the most entertaining ones would be the ones iwth Aoki and the one where Takamura wouldn't stop doing the uppercut. I couldn't stop laughing for a good 15 minutes after those.
Somehow, I doubt that, since he was beaten by someone who'd never even fought in an OPBF title match before--AND it was the first KO loss he'd ever suffered. So I doubt that he has nearly as much clout on the world stage as he did when he was OPBF champ.Originally Posted by O-part MAb rank ??
That's why I don't think Ippo should fight Arnie--because that's basically the same thing that happened to Jimmy before he fought Ippo.
Yeah, that's the Jolt. The "Cross JOLT!" is just a name I made up for when he throws the Jolt as a cross counter.Originally Posted by FFz
The Battle of Hawk (gotta love engrish) is easily the match of the series. Nuff said.
Takamura VS Hawk
Ippo Vs Sendo II
Ippo Vs Sawamura
Mashiba VS Sawamura
It's tough for me to pick between these four as IMO, they are the top tier fights for the manga...
In each one the fighters were evenly matched and they were just all out fights.
ATM I've just seen the anime and searched for the scanlations. Thanks to BlitzRonin's signature I found it ^^v.
My favourite fights were
Ippo vs. Sendo I
Ippo vs. Sendo II
Ippo vs. Mashiba
I love how lots of people have their own version of the JOLT!
Since it's just a full body weight punch nearly anyone can do it... but Miyata using it as a counter is just awesome.
Ippo's Dempsey Hooks and whatnot are JOLT's since those are full body weight.. and the hook that Date was going to hit Martinez with to finish him off could be considered a JOLT!
mashiba vs sawamura the battle of psyco,s and the battle of the hawk's
That's true--but I like Miyata's version the best, since it's the most risky and has the biggest payoff when it works. No one else's potential JOLTs have been able to knock out people in one hit, after all.Originally Posted by BlitzRonin
Takamura in his first world title defense
Aoki's title match
Ippo and sanada's new boxer
Itagaki and Hoshi
Takamura vs Hawk is probably my favorite.
Other great fights:
Ippo vs Sendo 2
Ippo vs Mashiba
Ippo vs Sawamura
Mashiba vs Sawamura
Kimura vs Mashiba
Takamura vs Eagle
well, Hajime no Ippo is a loooooooooong manga and if you need help to remember what happened where
then just ask here and someone will surely post the answer for you.
and ofcourse if youre looking for something in the anime as well your free to ask that tto. although
bear in mind that this is mostly a manga forum so maybe not all the readers have seen the anime.
but its worth a shot nonetheless.
so what chapter/episode are you looking for?
Hello again peoples! im rereading Ippo for the 4th time here and im at the makunouchi vs saeki fight.
and this got me thinking. theres been a few years since that fight and saeki should have progressed
a lot since then, he was once known as the speed star and maybe he's better and faster now.
imagine a fight between him and Itagaki... that could be awesome! i mean normally every fight turns into a slugfest
after a while but i think a fight like that could be really interesting. it would be a race to set the pace and both of them are really fast so instead of a slugfest we would really see some awesome footwork and kickass dodging abilities
from both fighters for a change, basicly a technical showdown.
so thats a fight id really like too read, how about you guys? any fight youd like to see?
miyata vs vorg? mashiba vs makunouchi nr2? anything goes!
By far my favorite fight was Kimura vs. Mashiba. While most of the fights by Makunouchi, you can pretty much predict a win (let's be honest... in the rest of the series I doubt he'll lose more than one more match), and Takamura... well he'll always win with a knockout punch, and Itagaki, while he had a rough beginning, after the Hoshi fight, I'm pretty sure he'll walk away with nothing but wins for a while (if not the rest of the series). That leave the two remaining, Aoki and Kimura. Aoki I'm not overly fond of... he's too much of the comic relief, but Kimura remains somewhat serious, and his was the first fight that I couldn't predict the ending of. I was really into it, and really sad when he lost.
Good to have some topic about that...just what i needed
I'm looking for the chapter where the anime ended up (after Ippo got the Champion Belt from Sendo)...i wanna follow the manga from that chapter on. Can someone help me?
yo Bill2007, im here to help.
i would start reading volume 31, its directly after the fight and thats where the anime ended.
so go for volume 31!
