It hasn't been said the devil fruit user has to die for it to work. BB is a bad guy and simply killing them to take their power is easier to do. Its kinda like how aizan decided killing rukia was easier than trying to take the hokioku while she is alive.
So my old signature is gone and I need a new one. so If anyone wants to make me one featuring either Air Gear or One Piece hit me up and ill credit you.

    Spoiler: Big Mom's introduction show

Don't you guys think that the mysterious three-eyed woman could be Big Mom's hostage ?
    • She does not feel comfortable at all to be sitting in the same room as the Yonko
    • She does not seem pleased by the Yonko's behavior
    • She stays sitting and silent as if enduring the situation
    • She is well sit, well-dressed, seems to have manners and high education
So she would be the exact opposite of Bonney. She does not fit in the middle of the pirate world where she has to stay whereas Bonney is forced to stay within the WG: hostages between WG and Yonko Big Mom.

Hmm, i guess it could be, would definitely be a nice plot twist. I always interpreted it like she is annoyed and a bit disgusted by her behavior, like "not that again" but it is definitely not clear. Btw, Bobbin´s behavior is so annoying, in a positive way.
