I don't think he was that different in the LN. What I meant is, in season 1, he had that " Don't give me this crap" attitude. But now, he has a more like "My lovely, flowery, rainbow-ey youth!" attitude. You feel me ? What I'm trying to say is, his role in the story has changed from a hilarious problem solver, to a hilarious lover. Which is not bad, but I can't help but feel a slight disappointment. You will actually notice the difference for yourself if you watch the first episode of both seasons.
i guess what i meant to say was that his actions are better explained in the LN than in the anime
A flashback which explains almost everything. How neat.
Chibi Kirino was so cute. She really idealized her brother as a child.
Kyousuke really was amazing... Kyousuke teached Manami in the past... He was a good runner... He was very reliable... What happened? Why did he become weak?
From an ace to a lazy bum who reads Dragon Piece (bad pun... bad pun indeed... ) instead of studying... Why didn't he join the track and field club?
All of that caused Kirino to hate her own brother because he wasn't the ideal person she thought he was anymore... Furthermore she tried to become her own ideal and succeeded... Although she had to compensate the lack of a little sister through Eroge...
Pretty fucked up if you ask me. Kirino always calls Kyousuke a perv for being a SisCon... Though she easily wins the pervy contest... I've never seen a bigger BroCon than her.
So? What happened to Kirino;s hair? It was obvious that she loved her brother but we learn that she played Eroge to satisfy her libido because she can't have him IRL... Maybe it's because I don't read the LN but I don't see why Manami deserves to be hated because of what she did. I hope it won't be an incest route...
Hmm. I don't like pure reminiscence episodes like this one. As much as we learned about who Kirino is internally I feel frustrated that I had to be shown all of this outside of the story. It just felt like an info dump that they couldn't work out how to fit it into the narrative so they went outside the storyline and addressed the audience directly. Like the writer or screenwriter had Kirino's character say "So here's some stuff you need to know that we can't find an opportunity to explain." straight to the viewer.
I'm not a fan of that.
Also barely any Ayase.

kirino was so cute
i loved little kirino chasing after kyosuke
this episode felt like a bit of a recap but i have a feeling its setting a stage
You Ayase lovers...
I really enjoyed the episode, little Kirino is so incredibly cute It's so funny how she did all that for her brother, I'm with Sky there, she's an astounding BroCon
She idolized her brother too much in the first place, nothing wrong with being average. It's not like Kyousuke sucks, what he did for Kirino and the others speaks for itself, but more like he chose or preferred an average lifestyle. Maybe he could have become more but the same goes for countless people out there, would they try really hard (guess that's true for a lot of us here, me included ). In the end it all comes down to what you really want and what you feel motivated to do. Kyousuke did his best for his little sister because he really cared for her, that alone should show Kirino what an amazing brother she has.
Just like Kisame said it's probably setting the stage for the grand finale, can't wait

It was a nice episode, but a disappointing ending.
There's definitely a third season, right ? There's still that stalker from last episode, and there's still so little Ayase...
Can't see how this will shape up within three episodes, but it looks like Kyousuke had no fault in Kirino's wicked way of thinking, which was something I expected. Not sure if she'll ever admit it was her own mistake that she forced her own ideals upon him and got disappointed for no reason.
Manami made me laugh hard in the last episode She's always so kind and then she's literally bitchslapping Kirino
To all the Ayase-fans:
