There is still a good possibility that grimmjow has also gotten much stronger and probably surpassed ichigo by training during the 17 months
.....coz his power should be rivalling ichigo's if he wants to fight him

Hey man I'm just looking at feats here, and Ichigo's last feat was losing to an opponent that Renji could defeat.

True. But the problem is that we haven't gotten a confirmation that the person who split Quilge in half really was Grimmjow (although I believe it was). Secondly, the rules dictate that we have to stick with what we've seen, which means that we'll have to look judge Grimmjow as he was when he lost to Ichigo in Hueco Mundo. Given that Ichigo has become exponentially stronger since then, Grimmjow stands no chance.

It wasn't a fight where you have to defeat your opponent (Asauchi), though. More like where you have to fight in such a way that the Asauchi would accept you. Even if Dangai Ichigo would achieve nothing there (at most he'd blast the whole Royal dimension, which would still be pointless).

On another note, Renji is quite strong, at least brute power-wise. Meh, I'm going a bit off topic...

Say what you want, but Ichigo was laying on the ground all beat up and bloody which spells defeat to me. On top of that, he doesn't even have a zan, hollow powers, or even a fullbring anymore. Are you trying to say that Ichigo can defeat all these opponents with just his latent quincy powers that he hasn't even learned to manifest yet? Sounds like you have some pretty powerful fanboy goggles.

Grimmjaw would win. He for the most part owned Ichigo. Ichigo as he is now isn't enough to take on Grimmjaw, especially when Ichigo needed help and asspulls to win. Grimmjaw would likely take on the other person whose name I forgot and let Ishida and Ichigo fight each other. Ishida being Quincy would win, but I'm not sure if Ichigo can fight a Quincy, especially since he's likely one. Grimmjaw would take out the survivor of that fight.

Ichigo would win this round. He has already beaten the second most powerful character in this group...Grimmjow. Ishida or Poww aren't on the same level as Ichigo. Whatever way the battles take place, in the end, Ichigo has a bright chance to win.

Is dangai ichigo allowed? Because if he is he erases them with the mere windpressure from his sword. I'm not kidding.

And I repeat again: his defeat there has nothing to do with his strength. It was pre-determined.

BTW a line from the rules:

Ichigo will compete in the tournament using the form in his fight against Quilge.
So he does have a zan and can very well use it.

Didn't he have trouble with Grimmjaw and needed help from at least one person, as well as needing to go hollow mode?

Really? I could have sworn otherwise. I remember adult Nel jumping in to help Ichigo, and then Ichigo going hollow because Grimmjaw threatened someone and Ichigo felt too weak.

Adult Nel first appeared against Nnoitra. (ch. 291)

Ichigo actually had a bit of a disadvantage against Grimmjow, because he had to protect Orihime at the same time. (http://www.mangareader.net/94-736-19...apter-282.html) In the end, it's more like he won by willpower, but still, it was a win.

To me, it seems fairly obvious that Kubo has portrayed the 'current' Ichigo as exceptionally stronger than the Ichigo that invaded HM. Grimmjow stands no chance whatsoever.

Too bad this match up took place so soon. I expect Grimm to have improved quite a bit if he took out Opie in one swing, even if he was weakened.
