Well, as we didn't see that much, it's off for another month of waiting. xD
Yeah, and we know that you have to see through that super sweet spot that Ryoga talked about to hit Byodouin's technique. It was nice to see a bit of Akutsu's past, but almost all chapters have been focused in that, and I was hoping we could see more about Tanegashima and Ryuuji and Sanada playing.
We know that Ryoma will play against Ryoga in an official match and that Kazuya will play Byodouin. Surprised also about Gin's match that lasted a whole set, guess Duke maybe didn't use Duke Homerun until the second set which blew away Gin (I don't think he used it earlier and Gin was able to return it). It's nice we can see again Sengoku.
I think this time the MS will pull a win. Sanada won't foreshadow Akutsu like Ochi did to Mouri, Konomi has to give lots of sfreentime to them after all the hype he gave to both of them. Anybody thinks how wtf strange is the way Shuuji wears his jacket?

Duke probably only went up to 60% in the first set, then Gin won a game in the second set, Duke got nervous and went all out.
I think this was a great chapter since we got to see a great flashback. The last release was action packed with Oni and Tooyama going TnK so I think it doesn't make sense to expect loads of tennis with every release since by the 400+ chapters of SPoT and PoT in total we should now all know not to expect tennis all the time lol.
Having Akutsu's flashback include Sengoku was a great move from Konomi. We got to see tennis anyway with Akutsu acing Tanegashima.
This months release was great.
The flashbacks add far much more meaning to the players when they play anyway. That's what I felt Ochi/Mouri's match was lacking.
For those who wanted Sanada to also shine in this release, think how bad it would make Akutsu look.
Sanada's got 10ao AND BA + Standard Improvement to show all at once in a match since he's not rallied against anybody notable since Yuki.
So if Sanada shined in this match, Akutsu's ace would look like shit.
Its perfect that we wait for Sanada to steal the show after. So far this doubles pair doesn't look like its going to work.
Sanada is just ordering Akutsu around and he hates that.
My prediction is Sanada/Akutsu win.
I've gotten everything right with G10 predictions except Oni VS Tooyama since I kept changing back & forth, but for this match a Sanada/Akutsu win feels really obvious and I hate this feeling. Its going to be amongst the best in the series I think though.
Up there with Sanada VS Tezuka, Ryoma VS Yukimura, Atobe VS Irie, Oni VS Tooyama etc.
I liked this kind of pacing. All these flashback bring life to a match. It's what makes the match interesting when you'll read it all at once.
Much better than 1st stringer 11-20 arc. So much potential wasted there.
Nice to see some score from Gin vs Duke, too.

One thing is for sure; Konomi is going to take his time with this match. Sanada is amongst his favorite to watch, and Akutsu has a special place in his heart. Both characters have not had a match in a while, and both characters are shown to be at the top. As Airgrimes said, this will be a good one.
Nice to see some flashbacks for Akutsu. I've been waiting for him to take center stage for awhile. I have a good feeling that this current match will be great, given the characters involved.
didnt like the chapter, i wish we'd show more rallies and the powers of the opponents, then show'd flashbacks.
i saw the line up, i think ryoma is gonna challenge mr #1 after tokugawa fails. why else is rymoa learning to return the dimensional shot? cuz at the moment beside ryoga only mr #1 knows how to use it. discuss?

Tsk, Fuji is totally death
Why gave us hope by having him on the cover, then? *weeps*
Then again, Sanada was on the cover for the 6th volume and has a match in the 11th one.
Good God, does that means we have to wait for 5 more tankobon?
well being on the cover doesn't mean you'd get to play or have any meaningful plots. if u look at past volumes, you might see other players that haven't even played yet. although i personaly wished fuji was be playing soon. he will probably get a match some other way.
So far it's Ryoma, Kintarou, Yukimura, Tezuka, Atobe, Sanada, Shiraishi, Marui, Fuji, and Niou. I think they all play an on screen match but Fuji.
I was SO hoping he would play in the next two volume or so. Maybe he and Shiraishi will be part of top 20 instead. Or maybe the whole Room 201 will go cavorting Yukimura to friggin America. -_-

No wait, sorry. Ryoma hasn't really played a match. But he's on screen A LOT.
Imagine we never had the Sanada/Yukimura/Tezuka flashback in Sanada VS Tezuka,
Imagine we never got the flashback of Yukimura in hospital, the flashback of Tezuka in Kyuushu recovering?
Complaining about flashback means you must hate character development.
