Seb was a god alien, thats how people were dying and plane crashes happened.
Nishi might of died off screen like Reika and Oka.
Vampires were happy to be like all humans watching on about the events and will stay in the shadows hiding from those with gantz suits.
Tae is Oku's love child.
Nishi is likely dead since the scene was set for him to get butt-fucked by the aliens.
The one thing I didn't like though was that about 5 mins later the Americans managed to win the war.. very, very bad pacing on Oku's part so it's hard to say what his intentions were as far as how he wanted the audience to determine Nishi's outcome. Most likely he's fuckin dead, and frankly that's exactly what he deserves for sending himself onto the mothership with no way home.
Vampires were great. Having them 'stay at home' not giving a shit was perfectly in character. If I was Oku though I would have dragged their asses out anyways, either by summoning them with the zaibatsu or by having their home attacked by the giants, or perhaps even by hijacking one of those prison cages (since they do need a source of food). Hey, now there's a story. They hijack the fuckin thing, bring it back to base and the giants send in a squad to check it out and wreck all their shit.
While I respect Oku's decision to have them naturally stay out of trouble, he pulled a lot of bullshit get the rest of the Tokyo team into action so it's a huge let down that he didn't even bother to give us a vampire story arc.
I only got into Gantz last winter and it was a wild ride. I can't have the same perspective as someone who'se been following it for years though I've followed other series for that long.
I'd just like to say I really enjoyed the series, but it was always very strange to me. I'd tried to read it a few years back but never got past the first mission. This time I stuck with it and the series improved markedly after the Tanaka Aliens in my opinion. At its best it did some great character work interspersed with insane action. I really liked that Oku had the guts to have Kei stick with Tae even if I personally didn't find Tae interesting, or Reika's increasing breakdown for what it said about their character arcs for instance. But the story also always felt like it never knew where it was going to me. It always felt like anything could happen and there would be a reason stuffed into it later. I think the final story arc had a good concept (though I wonder what happened to the Rome Aliens? Are they still wrecking up Italy) but suffered from weird execution. How many times were people transported too and from the mothership? The 2 Kourono's didn't help either and less time could have been spent on Tae's situation in the ship itself. I liked it, but I think it could have been done more tightly.
As for the ending itself, I felt it was a bit abrupt but I can't really say what I would change other than a more clear focus on the endings of the Tokyo Team since they appear to have gotten revived.
Oh also one question, the mothership was going to blow and destroy the earth right, so didn't it blow up anyway? Maybe it's been too long and I forgot the exact nature of Iva Gonde's threat but didn't the Gantz team lose even with Gonde dead?

So, does anyone know what is Oku going to be doing now?
Retirement. Occasional doodling.
Prob preparing a cheesy big boob manga...
Hope not. He can do better.
Argh....such a bad ending to such a cool series! This guy really should've stopped after the Osaka mission......the Katastrophe arc was awesome at the beginning but it just went down, down, downhill because the mangaka had no idea where he was going (and just stalled us by throwing us pages of naked Tae). So much potential this series had...
What's that cat from? Why are its talons made of chalk?
lol thanks. May have to check it out
this it's very similar to gantz in a lot of ways.
Its look like a Manga similar to Dragon Ball and other Fight Shounen manga.
Like gantz it shows realistic social, economic and other consequences of disasters happening, and is the only other one like gantz to capture that sense of total hopelessness that really made gantz stand out. The fanservice is not total nudity, but when it's there it really stands out. In addition, it's really funny like the earlier on gantz used to be. If you want to see aliens splattering people, then getting splattered again, this is really quite similar.
